hehehe...Dredd ba kamo? Tumugtog kami dyan ng band ko, way back '91 or '92 ata. Wetbacks ang pangalan ng band namin.bassist ako. Drummer namin nun si John Pete Agcaoili ng The Late Isabel. Kasabay namin Alamid (Athena's Curse pa nun) tsaka The Youth. Di namin alam kailangang mag-audition.basta pinasok lang kami ng barkada ko from UP Zoological Society. Event nila yun e. Sa madaling sabi nagkalat kami,hehehe...nasabon pagkatapos ni Jing Garcia.Sabi nya, "It was a bad set,guys". Tapos dumaan ang roadie ng The Youth, kumakanta ng "...tapon tapon tapon nyo, basura nyo, itapon nyo..."Arekup!!!hehehe...To this day, may phobia na bokalista naming magperform. Naalala nya si Binky Lampano tinatawanan daw sya,hehehehe...Naka-move on na din naman kami (ng konti,hehehe)... First and last gig namin sa Dredd yun...Those were the days talaga...

ako din...count me in among the "alumni" of the original dredd...

at that time (college days, circa 96-98), di pang-dredd yung mga banda ko...puro walang time para mag-practice, focus muna sa school...pero mga katropa ko nung college, naging regular dun...dunno if if any of you remember purple onion, usually isa sila sa mga opener pag razorback o piranha ang tumutugtog...

i finally had my "boyhood dream" fulfilled nung nakatugtog yung banda ko sa bagong dredd last year...the chenelins (now on hiatus) played dredd last july 14, 2007...kasama kami sa production ng roxymorrons (formerly citric maple)...we were supposed to play a 2nd dredd gig in august but we had to back out.  at that time i was managing the band, my temporary substitute drummer had a family emergency, at kahit na kinukulit ako ng mga kabanda ko na umabsent (actually, NCNS - no call no show) at dumerecho sa dredd, di ako pwedeng mag-sub...one more absence from work at that time meant possible written warning...

it would've been cool though kung nakaabot ako sa classic days ng dredd, as a bandmember, not just as an audience member...

Well I also miss the old dredd pero ok din nman yung bagong dredd kasi my new band Intolerant got to play there like twice already...

I'm russell dela cruz - bassist and vocalist of skychurch (Electric Skychurch)

Laki ng naitulong nila patrick and robbie saming magkakapatid, we auditioned sa old dredd before nung nasa timog around 1992 pero i guess our age and lack of exposure really gave us a hint that we need to play more though we were told that we can get bookings but only on weekdays, masayang malungkot kami kasi natanggap nga kami sa dredd pero di naman kami makakasalang kasi nga nag-aaral pa kami nun, at that time I was in 1st year HS, my younger bro was in his last year in grade school and si kuya doc ay nasa 3rd year HS. So basically dehin feasible for us to play.  After a few months nabalitaan namin na nagclose na yung old dredd.  Around 1993 we again saw robbie sa isang battle sa Boom na boom and he offered if we wanted to play in dredd, So when the dredd in Cubao opened we were part of the mythical "Dredd bands".  Sobrang saya namin nun kasi di lahat ng nag-audition for dredd nagiging dredd band, hindi dahil nakatugtog ka sa dredd ay dredd band kana kasi at that time wla pa namang mga prods and the dredd management gets to pick their house band to play.  Electric Skychurch will never be Skychurch without Club Dredd. Sana makatugtog kami ulit ng Skychurch sa dredd, my dad always ask me kung may mala dredd na venue ngayun, di na siya kasi active sa pagsama sa mga gigs ng banda ko ngayun(Intolerant) becoz he's recovering from his brain surgery...

We will be forever be proud to be a dredd band!

P.s. ang dami pala naming nakasabay at nakasama na iba na ang mga itsura at ang layo na ng narating dito sa forums.. PM nyo ako, lets get to know each other again...  Miss ko na yung pagpunta sa dredd na kahit wla kang kakilala pagdating mo, uuwi ka na may bagong mga kaibigan...

Hey Russell! Great to hear from you! Rob and I still go to Dredd Eastwood regularly, but not like before. Hank's the man in charge now. We hope to see a lot more of the old faces more often. I heard that Intolerant is a hell of a band. I hope to catch you there one of these days. I got to see your brother Robert a couple of times. He still kicks ass! Regards to the doc and Rommel.
