check the angle of the bass drum kung masyadong mataas, isang factor din kasi ito sa pagkabutas ng bass drum head. tapos yung beater ng pedal check mo kung matigas masyado.... yung evans g1 ko dati nabutas sa tigas ng beater....

I have had my stock Pearl for a couple of years and is still holding up.. :lol:

A factor I noticed that could greatly decrease life of the head is using the plastic/hard side of the beater instead of the Felt..

To further prolong the head I would suggest using the felt..it does give a soft and deep boom sound though if your after the attack and wet sound the plastic side is your only choice..

Madali talaga mabutas ang bass drumhead due to the fact that you're hitting the same area all the time.
:wink:

Hope this helps. Happy drumming! :-)
So Be It.

It would really depend on the kind of bass drum sound you're looking for.

Remo Pinstripes are tried and tested, and most drummers prefer it for the deep, round bass drum sound it produces.  If you want lots of boomy low end, the Pinstripe is a very good bet.  And it's a 2-ply head, so it can hold on in terms of durability.

The Controlled Sound (CS) heads are the dotted heads, right?  With this head, I think we'll get more of an old-school sound, since these heads were popular during the 70's.  Did Bonham use a CS head during his prime?

Falam Patches are placed on the impact area of the bass drum head where the beater hits the head repeatedly. The are used for more controlled attack and supposedly extends head life.

gah...sayang. walang stock na pinstripe or CS yung JB na pinuntahan ko. kakatawag ko lang kanina, tapos sabi nila meron, pagdating ko dun, out of stock na raw. but since in desperate need ako ng bass head, i was forced to buy a remo "encore" head.

guys, uhh, ngayon ko lang kasi narinig yung "encore" na remo. are these any good? mejo mukha kasi pekeng remo eh. hehe, just to be sure, bumili nalang rin ako ng impact pad para siguradong tumagal ito sakin.

wats your opinions on the encore series?

@cradleofklien

JB should have it but usually always out of stock.

@omnicloud7

IMO it really pays to be patient. You should have contacted other JB branches and got the Pinstripe or Controlled Sound instead.

nah, its aryt.

don't get me wrong, sound IS important. kinailangan ko nalang talaga. ^_^

OT: ive been using pinstripe for almost 3 years now...

its too fat and too low, if you want more versatile sound try using powerstroke 3

vinci has a lot of stock as of now :)
