Yes Teddy Vaño, the former guitarist of Eddie K's band wayback '79 or '80 at the Vineyard club in Makati.. Magaling sya. He's a cebuano.. Si Gabe Ascalon(former Destiny in RJ-AM's Pinoy Rock&Rhythm) naging guitarist din ni Eddie K after Teddy Vaño.. then after Gabe, si Robin(Aristorenas) naman sa band ni Eddie Katindig.. Si Robin pre nasa UK playing w/ Lyons jazz sextet(paki-search sa Youtube kung andon pa)

Haha! Glad you recognized him. Teddy also played and recorded with Boy Katindig, BTW. I chanced upon him browsing for a new amp at the Perfect Pitch store in Cebu. Robin naman is also a master at billiards. Yes, he's in London. Si Gabe, Farmer Gabe na but still very much in shape.

There's one other guitar great from the Era: si Turo ("Darleng") of the Network Band, a mainstay at the Papillon Bar in Makati.

Your welcome MCF.. that's still on topic.. Network Band is familar.. kasabayan din yata yan ng Midas Touch band who also have a good guitarist.
Another good guitarist is Ruding(don't know his surname) of Lord Bees band at@ d Phil Plaza in the 80's. As I mentioned in my July post, http://talk.philmusic.com/board/index.php/topic,53723.105/wap2.html
I really admire Boy Adan of Please Band. He is our local George Benson(guitar skill & voice alike). His rendition of This Masquerade is astounding. He plays almost all Benson instrumentals & sing all Benson's hits. Too bad he passed away 3 or 4 years ago.. He gigged in Olongapo & Manila in the 80's & mostly in Germany.. Wow dami magagaling noon na di nakilala.. Si Menchu Apostol pre, he did the guitar solo intro of Zsazsa Padilla's song "Mambobola".. Pakinggan nyo parang imported ang nag-gitara.. During high school days, I idolized Joey Puyat.. Sa rock naman, yung mga Olongapo bands naman magagaling dati mga guitarist. sige up to here na lang muna.. mahaba na yata.. he-he
