When I first heard this man my jaws dropped, when my first guitar teacher told me that I was supposed to sound like that, my jaws dropped even more ( I actually thought he was making fun of my sh1tty playing).

The only guy to play little wing better than Jimi.

You were gone too soon SRV.

The first time I heard of Stevie was when the time that my friend told me that Eric Johnson's song SRV was a tribute for him. I, then, became curious bout who he is and how he plays. Bili agad akong VCD.

Nung una, it's like parang hindi pa ko into sa music niya sa style niya medyo bago palang ako sa pakikinig kila satch, vai etc..... yung mga techincal players kaya kala ko simple lang mga pinaggagawa nia.

This year lang i started listening to some of his masterpieces at pinanood ko yung binili kong VCD long time ago. Yung mga di ko naappreciate dati, biglang nagbago, naaddict na ko sa blues and dahil dun naghanap hanap na ko ng mga bluesartist. It's all because of him.

Ngayong taon din i've decided to study blues yung mga feel and groove. And pati gitara ko, nilagyan ko ng thicker gauge kahit di na ko makatechnical. Lahat yun dahil sa kanya.

Hi Everyone,

SRV is the man. First time I heard this guy play--I was blown away by his tone. Gauge 13 strings on a battered Strat-- very low tone and tuned half a step. Blues drenched and a lot of attitude. Texan grit that says a lot about the way he plays.

"Lenny" still gives me chills and "Riviera Paradise" says a lot about the man.

   Thanks SRV! :-)

a funny story about stevie.

he was walking in the lobby of a hotel when he noticed a crowd reporters and photographers gathered around a person who turned out to be prince( artist formerly known as, symbol guy ).

srv goes around to the back of the crowd and positions himself behind prince and said " you may be the prince, but I'm the King Bee!"

lol...read it his autobiography...crossfire

Was walking through the isles of Walmart last month and saw the Live from Austin Texas DVD on the shelves.  Bought it for no reason at all and just played the thing over and over the next day.  It turns out that day at Walmart was idol's anniversary.

Creepy, eh?  :-o

i'm a late bloomer. i learned all on my own. progressed from pop to rock to metal to blues. then came SRV. kahit may tabs, iba pa rin ang feel na binibigay ng pagtugtog nya.
