i like this thread!
i finally have the chance to shout out my guitar heroes!
MIKE EINZIGER of INCUBUS / time lapse consortium!
-i've covered most of the songs from their albums such as Make yourself, & S.C.I.E.N.C.E. as well as some from the alternative sounding morning view, a crow left of the murder & the latest light grenades.
-his chordings/voicings aren't ordinary! songs like PARDON ME has weird looking chords on the verses.
-his way of using & combining his pedals are really outwordly! makes u think, how d f** did he do that? considering that he doesn't use loopers! 'THE WARMTH' & SICK SAD LITTLE WORLD are good examples!
-when he shifts to playing jazz, crystal clear! SUMMER ROMANCE(anti-gravity) & DEEP INSIDE explains that clearly!
shredding? u will tell Joe Satriani & Steve Vai to allow Mike to join the next G3! listen to trouble in 421!
ADAM JONES of TOOL!
-his riffs really kicks ass! now who says progressive metal always has to be about shredding for the guitar parts & solos?
adam will get u from one place to another & from here to there & will bring u back from where u came from w/ his riffs!
-the way he use the wah pedal is superb! LATERALUS has a weird wah solo!
-he's capable of playing AGAINST his band members! he's very good on playing odd-time signatures!actually, all of the members from TOOL!
BILLY HOWERDEL of A PERFECT CIRCLE is another!
i love the way he compose songs!
-it can be really catchy (like 3LIBRAS) yet still has that heavy part!
-his solos are very melodic! be it long or short solo. BRENA & ORESTES has great ones!
