Went to Guitar Fix yesterday with my buddies to have the usual setup for our guitars.
Very accomodating si Kuya Rey. Lahat ng itatanog mo sasagutin nya. Plus mura pa ng singil samin hahaha

Sino po ang nakapagpa-repaint na kay kuya rey? Kamusta naman po ang kinalabasan? I'm thinking of bringing my axe to him na lang since he's way closer to home... I respect other luthiers out there, no doubt... But if kuya rey can do the same, why go far if he's just minutes away from home, diba?

So ayun, opinion naman po ng repaint service ni kuya rey... Thanks in advance! :-D

Mga Tol, nagrerefret ba si Mang Rey ng elec guitar using Stainless steel frets?. H0w's the fretwork?. Alam ko mahirap daw install ang stainless frets kasi s0brang tigas.

yes..he also does refrets...he used to maintain all my guitars before i moved south...just call him up and he'll definitely give you a "fair" quote on the price...

really professional outputs sa repainting with this guy. Di ka magkakamali bro. Less expensive too.

ah talaga? yeah i sent him a text message regarding my inquiries when it comes to prices of his services... and yeah, it was less expensive than the others that i have asked... plus, malapit lang siya sa amin, like say 50 pesos lang pamasahe ko balikan na yun, nyahaha...

will update you guys after the repainting has been done... for now, antay muna ako at mahaba daw queue ni kuya rey, hehehe...

makukuha ko na today or bukas yung pinasetup kong fender tele sunburst na gold accessorized kay sir rey!! super sulit. yung 3 guitars ko siya rin ng memaintain.

swabe, malapit at mura pa.

sayang lang sira yung pang binding machine niya nalubog daw nung ondoy.

galing ako kila kuya rey kanina, pups installation at setup... dapat pati refret kaso naubusan daw siya fret wires... kaso friday ko pa makukuha guitar ko, ang haba ng pila! first time ko magpunta at makilala si kuya rey, mabait at madaling kausap... at may mga natutunan ako agad sa kanya!

after 8 years sa akin ng guitar ko, ngayon ko pa lang dinala sa luthier... nagulat ako ng sabihin niyang straight pa din ang neck, well aligned... di ko talaga inaasahan na direcho pa pala yun, after 6 years na punong-puno ng gigs... take note, my band plays hardcore/metal music! pero mukhang mapapadalas na ako kila kuya rey for setup and maintenance...

anywayyy.... may nakita ako dun na nakaka-GAS...

KANINO YUNG PRESTIGE S NA IBANEZ DUN?? nakaka-GAS!! wew, ang sexy!

after my guitar has been setup, ill post pics... kaso part 1 pa lang yun, papa-refret and repaint ko pa... but nonetheless, ill update my whole guitar restoration experience with kuya Rey... :mrgreen:

yup dude, dami naka pila... ang pinagagawa ko lang is installation of pups and setup... baka Friday ko pa daw makuha, kahapon ko lang dinala, hehehe... wala pa kasi fret wires, asar-talo siya sa epektos.com kasi wala daw stock nung jumbo frets eh samantalang yun daw madalas orderin sa kanila, di sila mag stock.. haha... ayun, pati tuloy ako damay, mag aantay pa ako 3-4 weeks bago daw dumating yung inorder niyang fret wires... :eek:

yun din request ko nung nakaraan wala daw stock ng jumbo frets maghihintay pa daw ako ng 1 month for shipping sa abroad kung gusto ko talga.

anyway, got my guitar back just tonight, and its a mighty job well done! i didn't mind taking a week to have the services done because of the christmas rush at sir rey's. usually fret-dressing + set-up takes him only a couple of days.
