Yup that can happen. And not only that, the "highs" should be more present when you apply the 6pF tonesuck mitigation mod.

Ya, pansin ko nga it now actually makes itself known kahit naka-place siya before a trigain-modded DS-1 at full song. Dati walang kabuhay-buhay kahit todo boost yung Hellbabe. Ngayon, it might not be as obvious as, say, an Area 51-modded Crybaby, pero you can actually hear the wah sweeping up and down na. Saved me from having to put the wah after the distortion pedal - it may work for some, pero hindi ko talaga type yung sound. Parang pato na dina-dropkick. If I can also suggest: This may be a good additional mod for those unsatisfied with the Hellbabe's sweep. Biglang lumabas yung highs e, very dramatic yung shift from dark to light tone pag rock ng pedal. Thanks for the tonesuck tip sir - genius ka hehe.

Sir, kung susubukan niyo pa lang naman sa tindahan, why not just go there and listen for yourself? Siyempre po may kanya-kanyang opinions tayo, so baka mamaya glowing review dito, gaganahan kayo pumunta sa tindahan. Pero pag test niyo dun, bulok sa pandinig niyo. Bad trip pa tuloy kayo sa nag-review, hehe. The best thing would be to go to the shop and test it yourself, unless siguro kung sa sobrang malayong ibayo kayo nakatira. Wala pa naman yatang bayad ang testing.

Got a Behringer Tu100 B4 what can i say?? its better than Boss Tu-2... 
Base on my experience I Have both this pedals B4 the Boss TU2 Has a ToneSuck
the Tu100 Doesn't suck tone..
the only problem is like most other Behringer Pedals the housing coz its made of plastic
its not that durable like boss's
nice thing about the Tu100 it can tune upto the Lower B (DROP B)
That all i can say.. Hope that helps...

salamat sa info sir!  tumawag ako kanina sa in-tune at audio depot. di pa raw talaga sila nagkakaron ng ganung model. sabi nung kausap ko magtatanong sila sa main pero di pa ako tine-text.

pero kung malapit lang ang presyo nyan sa memory man, baka yun na lang ang bilihin ko.

to be honest, akala ko e puro boss lang ang kino-clone ng behringer. meron din palang iba. pero sa totoo lang, IMHO, parang mas ok na term ang "reverse engineering" kaysa sa "cloning". hehe. [reverse engineering btw is legal here and in the US.] siguro sa ibanez tube king kinopya yung vt999. hehe

same series yan ng vt999 so around 6000 din yan malamang. di pa kasi ako mabigyan ng presyo nung nakausap ko gawa ng di pa raw sila nagkakaron ng ganung unit.

metal all around ang construction.  sobrang tahimik ng pedal na ito. kahit todo na lahat e tolarable pa rin ang noise. also, it does not choke-up or go very nasal even at a hi-gain set-up. kung may useless sa pedal na ito, yung built-in noise gate. di naman kasi magagamit e. hehe.

kung amp modelling, mas suitable ang gdi21. pakiramdam ko mas versatile yun kaysa sa vt999. pero kung fender tweed ang hanap mong tunog, "kaya" pareho, AFAICT, ng vt999 at gdi21.

yung vt999 mas ok siyang gamitin, IMHO, as an overdrive pedal kapag naka-clean ka, crunch kapag dirty. mas ok siya as dirt pedal talaga (bago sa modulation sa hilera ng fxs). yung gdi21, mas ok sya as pre-amp o DI box w/amp modelling (huli sa pedal chain).

pareho naman tweakable yung 2. pwedeng-pwede mong itimpla ayon sa panlasa mo. tsaka sa manual may sample settings. hehe.

A 12ax7 tube has 9 pins. If you were to use only one triode, there should be at least 5 wires in use connecting the tube to the board.

there are only 2 wires. There is no filament transformer. There is  possibility that I'm not seeing everything,  but from what I see, the tube is not wired into the circuit.

ayown! nakita nyo rin! hehe. sa totoo lang nilagay ko talaga yung pic nung loob ng vt999 para mag-comment kayo. hehe. dapat iP-PM ko lang pero naisip ko for the benefit of the forum na rin; para malaman natin or at least magkaron ng ideya kung psuedo-tube lang ang vt999. 

4 lang yung connectors sa 12ax7. napansin ko rin na (1) di siya nagglo-glow na kasing orange/red nung tube sa vintager ko dati, (2) meron faint blue light (kasama nung faint orange/red light) na makikita sa tube na di ko nakita sa tube amp ko dati, at (3) it does take a couple of seconds para magamit yung drive function nung pedal. yan kapareho na nung sa amp...medyo kailangang painitin ng konti bago gumanda ang tunog. sorry kung pang-noob ang observations ko.

Yung delay effect can be implemented with solid state stuff, dali lang yun electronics 101 . Kaso kung ganun nga, talagang dinudugas tayo ng Behringer sa VT999.

now that you've mentioned it, yung delay effect sa pagkakaalala ko pwede nga sa SS. tsk. di kasi ako ee/ece/coe e. ginawa ata namin yun gamit capacitor at inductor.

hehe. well at least ngayon alam na ng forum. nanggogoyo nanaman si Uli. haha! so malamang ganun din sa MIC200 at vintage tube overdrive. 

[as for me, it was the tube that attracted me to take a second look at vt999 but it was the sound of the gear that made me decide to buy it. ]

i've tested this pedal and i think it sound good...actually matagal ko na pinagiisipang bumili...pero hinihintay ko rin ang opinion ng tube experts tulad ni sir bamf...so ayun...HULI!!!!
