Yep, 10k is a lot of money in the 80's. Pero you still don't get to buy vintage gear that cheap even during that time. Nag-pi-pickup na yung value ng vintage gear nung 80's. You can check out how PRSMan reacted when he bought it.

Possible, but I didn't care anymore since nabastos na siya ng Floyd. Ha ha! Babaw ano? But I still liked that guitar and played the heck out of it. My guess is it was probably some Japanese knock-off. Still a good guitar, but not what I thought it was -- a pure, vintage, all-orig Strat.

I don't know what ever happened to that guitar. When I left Manila in 1997, I remember na pinamana ko siya sa driver ko. When I went back home in 2004, sabi niya ang kinuha daw niya is yung acoustic ko. I checked with my cousin, and sabi naman niya na yung "Mang Rudy" guitar ko ang nabigay ko sa kanya. So I have no idea where the heck it is right now. Baka nasa bahay pa at inaamag na.

OMG eric how old are you.. hahaha.. i was collecting mask and ghostbuster toys in the 80's. Lol I picked up the guitar in 92.

and didnt know what a pre cbs fender was till 2002. HAHAHAHA.. so that must make you

Probably not buy "that cheap" in the US, but in the Phils you probably would in the '80s. Not sure about this though. Di pa ako nag-gigitara non.

i was selling my fender strat u.s for quick cash at 10k 5-6 yrs ago to tom to finance my bday n eto ung sabi nya sakin"man ur guitar came thru hell and back!might as well lower your price then we'll hav a deal!"...madali naman akong kausap nabitawan ko ng 6k ung strat with free orange juice dun sa sexy pinay gf nya hehehe then a month after that i bought from him an ibanez rg series with edge pro for 10k( di kc mahilig sa me floatng trem c tom eh) wich later on i had sold last year for 30k (not in philmusic) hehehe

infact inalok sakin ung guitar na yon uli ng fellow forumite for higher price(ung ibanez po...ala ko balita sa strat)
syempre nag pass ako as in CHALE CABRON!ur guitar came thru hell n back! hehehe

I've got a problem with tom here in phil music. First is that when he posts guitars/ amps for sale he seldom indicate prices. Second is that..... nakakabobo siya magtype!!!! nawawala tuloy interest ko sa gear niya. huhuhu
he should obey the rules in this forum.

funny thing is to some extent, hindi sya nababanatan ng todo about what he's doin dahil sa ganda ng mga binebenta nya. i forgot who said it pero kung nakakapagsalita nga sya ng straight english, anong problema nya from typin it diba? nakakapagtaka

Panggogoyo, for me, is lying. Period. If you sell your guitar to Tom at a sub-optimal price because you get easily intimidated by some Caucasian, that's your problem. If Tom tells you that your guitar is a POS and that it deserves a low price, it's all up to you to either give in or walk out on him.
