I have lost touch of rapid fire drummers not until I heard Tim Yeung with Divine Heresy and Vital Remains. So what are the different types of blast beats? Hyper Blast, Bomb Blasts, what the??? They all sound too fast to me...

And this blew my mind:

Try to look for the December 2007 issue of Modern Drummer (the Max Roach Tribute issue). There's a great feature interview on Derek Roddy, where he educates readers about blast beats and its history and evolution. He also shared some transcriptions (from his book The Evolution Of Blast Beats) and some of his musical thoughts about it. Roddy's interview is impressive.

Based on that article, Roddy said that there are four basic categories of blast beats... the traditional blast, the bomb blast, the hammer blast, and the freehand blast.

So, yung pinaka-karaniwang blast beat na sabay sabay na non-stop 16ths, pano nyo ginagawa? Isang paa lang ba? or bali parang alternating 8ths yung ginagawa nyo? Parang mas solid yung alternating pero parang nakakachallenge yung isang paa lang.

i believe meron pang isang klase ng "blast" ang tawag sa kanya is "gravity blast" hmmm.. ang madalas gumawa nito (i think) is mike mangini every drum solo nya and pag nagpupunas na sya ng rythm knowledge magazine sa mukha nya hehe yun yung ginagawa nya (hindi normal stroke na sobrang bilis lang)

there is a youtube video of the 1st and 2nd leg of the mapex drumfest where paul magat of kabaong ni kamatayan and robert dela cruz of queso showed there blast beat drumming, macoy manuel of sin dispalyed his blast beat pwoer during the 3rd leg of the mapex drum fest also

mas maganda pakinggan ang single foot blast,mas pantay,sabi nila yun raw yung tamang pang execute ng blast beat,gagamitin lang yung kabilang paa kapag gagawin na 16th sa paa (bomb blast) required ng mga metal drummer ang naka trigger para rinig talaga yung kick.

mas madali ang gravity blast iexecute kaysa sa normal na blastbeat,yun lang dapat kapag ginagawa ang gravity blast dapat malakas mo itong magagawa,pangit kasi kung magagawa mo ito tapos hinde naman naririnig,ayan kasi yung napapansin ko sa mga gigs lalo na pag sa live,mas okey gawin to kung naka mic in.

yes i think gumamit si macoy ng american blast, european blast ang gravity blast that event.

All of you guys should see how Dheniz do the Hyper-Blast Beat. One of the best that i've seen so far. He may not admit it but a lot of South Drummers have seen him play and we are all impressed.
