Author Topic: glorious DELAY! need help with purchasing delay pedal (Read 4165 times)

the other day i took my gfx8 to MOA to have it repaired by the guys at JB music... dun ko nalang dinala kasi malapet sa school ko (san juan de dios in pasay) and mababait naman ang mga tao dun. i asked the guitar tech if i could try out the Boston ME-200 and he showed me how crappy it was. its actually not that bad but the crappy sense about it is you can only use one effect at a time and you need to reconfig the knobs to use the other junk in there. anyway he started playin' jazz riffs all around while toying with the pedal then i asked him "kuya, baket ganun nadadalian ako mag blues, pero dehins ko talaga kaya mag jazz. mag 4 years na ko natugtug pero hirap ako". then he took out a BOSTON DD-100 and started tapping it all sorts of ways, like banking in background noises and notes and basslines and stuff to formulate a jazz type progression so he could use it to show me how to solo. but i forgot what he taught me, all i remember was i really wanted to get my hands on a delay pedal like that... help naman mga kapatid...

i don't have the funds to get a boss delay and i'm planing to get a behringer or a boston din but i dont know where to get them cheap kasi lahat ng delay pedal na mumurahin dito sa classifieds napipitas bago matapos ang araw. help naman. meron ba sa megamall?

***Meron lang konting issue lang sa delay ng Boston specifically sa DD100, pag nag-disengage mo yung effect parang may half a second na nagcacancel yung tunog nya.

bro, pag kukuha ka ng pedal, think long term. ewan ko kasi sa behringer eh...plastic. so kahit na maingat ka man tumapak, hindi pa rin matatapos ang takot mo sa baka maapakan siya ng iba na mabigat ang paa. mas maganda nang sigurado ka kahit kelan. kung gusto mo ng ganung delay, tumingin ka sa mga boss delay.. may mga rv3, dsd3, dsd2, dd3, dd5, dd6, ps2, ps3, dd20. meron pang mga analog delay na dm2, dm3, at malay ko pa. hehe. try mo pare. meron diyan din DOD.. may mga binebenta nga sa forum, 2k lang. ingatan mo lang footswitch nun. anyway.. marami kang choices diyan, abang abang ka lang. don't settle for less kung gagamitin mo naman talaga .. yung tipong masusulit mo.

I think yung DD100 ng Boston meron nun, clone ata ng DD-6 ang DD100 eh. Not sure though.

sulit sa 1.9k

i am curious about how good it sound at you tube until i tried and purchase one

yea dats right..may loop sya.
ang Digitech meron din for 4second loop pero sa DD6 boss, 5.2seconds! ewan ko lng kung how long ang DD100... mejo curios din ako sa DOD na delay..ng dfx9 ata un

well honestly, if you're after a "steal" price, then you'll really have to stick it out and wait here sa forum. otherwise, you can get the LSS delay for sale now. I'm sure matawaran mo pa yun. analog delay.

im a student and i cant get money that much.. so im hunting for a delay pedal noon na swak sa budget ko na ma sasatisfy ako..

heres what i have observed from the ff:

Boston DD100/DD200
the features are outstanding sounds like the BOSS talaga although may mga ilang units talaga na may some sort of pause when disengaging the pedal...

Behringer DD100
comparing to boston dd100 eto naman wala siyang pause thing defect when im trying to use the pedal.. ok siya comparig sa boston this is way cheaper 1890 pesos?? wow! pero yung construction niya is nakaka takot.. kasi plastic lang siya parang laruan lang.. but to tell you the truth i have a behringer cs100 and i got carried away sa isang gig and i stomp the hell out of it tapos bigla akong natauhan tinignan ko agad yung cs100 not even a slight crack on it... matitibay rin naman yung plastic na casing niya pero ingat ingat parin diba?..

try to explore pa muna for other brands, like DOD, Digitech, etc. hindi naman masama kung ittry muna diba bago bilhin?...

but in the end i got a DOD analog delay sa huli hahah!

Naalala ko tuloy yung unang delay pedal ko (Korg Dynamic Echo). Got it for around 3k ata dito sa forums. Kung ako sa iyo bro, abang ka sa classifieds. Daming mga sulit deals dun e. Btw, if you're looking for something na may loop, Boss DSD series and DD-6 will work for you. Kung ayaw mo ng Boss, yung Digitech Digidelay merong ganung function.

so....get a dd-20 or a dl4...mahal? so? malupit naman! pag ipunan mo nalang. a least di ka magsisi sa binili mo.

or you can find out the hard way. save for a cheap one, use it, sell it(takes really long). then ipon ulit for a better one.

the easiest way is to save and wait. take advantage of the strong peso. look for ways(legal) to earn money. hope this helps.

i got a Behringer DD100 before, tested it.. ok siya, no problem, galing pa ng options. pero pag naka 700ma lang ang PSU mo, steady ung LED, pag 1000ma, ok na siya. dont worry kahit plasitc siya, heavy duty naman eh..

check this out, ibang pedal nga lang pero behringer parin.. ANG TIBAY!:

the guys from JB 'gamol are friendly enough. they even told me mas maganda daw ang DD-100 compared sa DD-200.. dunno why, i just like the 'boutique' look of the 200-series..

anyway.. upon seeing the vid.. mukhang nakakagas yun dd100 ng behringer.. solb na yun less than 2k..!

I agree, save up for a good delay pedal and wait here sa classifieds or mag-sale sa mga guitar shops.

yep, just got it yesterday! hehehehe..

pero i'm still waiting for the Behringer DR400, ehehehehe, its a delay/reverb pedal!!! whoa!

inaantay ko rin yang behringer DR400 na yan to compare it with RV3...

BOSS RV3.... so ala syang tap tempo ... so sad that the production of RV3 was discontinued.

boss dd6 - syempre eto may tap tempo...

boston dd100 - i think this is a boss dd5 clone... kaso may onting gap kapag engage mo ung pedal... pero may tap tempo din sya

behringer:

em600, dr400 - eto yung mga alam kong behringer na may tap tempo

ung dd600 nila kelangan mo pa ata ng external footswitch para makapag tap ka...

i gave up my GFX-8 for a maxon delay and 4 other pedals with psu and patch cables. defective ung maxon so i asked 600 extra from the seller. ayon binenta ko din sa friend ko for 1.7k....in search pa din ako for delay. kahet under 2000ms ok na basta kaya slap echo
