Napakinggan ko uli kagabi yung kanta (sorry I'm more into Panic! at the Disco hehehe).

Sa may bandang refrain ba binabanggit mo? Hindi naman siya ganun kabilis. Practice lang.

Gawin mo heel up.

ako naman mostly slide. kasi heel-up ako lagi, except sa mga time keeping on swing, etc.  :-D at dun na rin ako nasanay e, mga doubles sa single ped using the sliding motion.

hindi ko alam kung heel-toe rin un isa ko pang ginagawa, its like the first stroke bababa ang buong feet (flat footed) sabay taas ng toes after the stroke (with the heel on the heel plate na). tapos next stroke bababa ung nakataas na toes sabay taas ng heel. tapos bababa ulit ung buong feet like the first stroke.
i got it from a forum, nalimutan ko na. haha. ages ago pa un. pero parang it follows the controlled double stroke on the hands, where in the first motion is the wrist, then the fingers. parang buong foot, then ankle lang.  :-)

wow, thanks sa mga replies! =D

actually matagal ko ng plinaplay yung song, i can do most parts except nga dun sa apat na sunod sunod na bass. tama ka gep! dun nga sa refrain part!  :-D

as of now, pag-ginagawa ko siya, feel ko parang may sumisikip sa muscles ko at ndi ko macontrol yung bass leg ko. kaya instead na dug-dug-dug-dug pak, ang nagagawa ko ay pangit na version! parang duduuududug pak. hahaha.  :-D

thanks guys! keep the advices coming! =)

i picked out these youtube videos of FOB sugar we're goin down where you get to see a lot of the drummer:

i hope by gettin a 'visual' of the drummer at it, you'll be able to emulate him more. ako rin kasi i learn faster by just watchin. pmack was right, you dont need dpedals for this, heel up ka lang.

tu tutug tupapak, tu tutug tupapak  <----thats the best i can do in describin it to you, sige listen to the kick and snare lang muna ng intro before the verse... yung mga "tutu-tug tu" for bass (4 strokes), yung "papak" for double snare strokes...wag mo muna i-drums, sing/beatbox the drum pattern to yourself, sabay kayo ng song...game!...tu tutug tupapak, tu tutug tupapak....if you can sing it, you can play it!...next use a drumpad or airdrums mo habang nagbi-beatbox ka with the song...with feelings ha! pwera biro, concert material dapat! be sure to lock the door ha, baka may biglang pumasok!

haha thanks bro bangbus! =) actually nagagawa ko naman yung intro, yung refrain nga lang talaga, to be exact, yung part na "lying in the grass, next to the mausoleum" , hehe yan yung drum part which i can't do. thanks sa advice about putting in feelings sa pagplay! oo tama kailangan ko nga nun, i saw myself play and look like a statue playing! yung limbs lang ang gumagalaw while the head+neck and everything else are still...

hmm, I guess kung fast consecutive double lang naman ang gagawin mo heel toe ka talaga(or slide ).
Pero kung ang plano mo is 16ths, you can try doing it using only one foot with heel-up. Check my sound clip here -> http://www.geocities.com/josephxv10/temp/single16ths.mp3. Since wala akong pambili ng double peds, right foot lang ang gamit ko jan with my pedal eliminator, heel-up. Pangit ang beat ko jan man :-D but at least madinig mo yung ibig kong sabihin.

i'm no pro nor an expert of these techniques, but i'm sure that enough practice would answer all your concerns. i'd prefer doing accents rather than straight 16ths mas groovy kasi. heheh 8-).
Totoo yun ayoice pag sanay na talaga di na masyado mahirap, but still sa akin may hirap parin. :-)

if your foot is laid near your cam mahirap talaga lagyan ng intervals kapag heel-toe, but if you try placing half of your foot on the board and half on the heel plate, mas ma-emphasize mo yung gusto mong intervals, kaya lang its more of legs and toe technique. parang ganun.
heheh :-D
godbless!

i watched the video of FOB di naman ganun kabilis kaya mo yan!.....try mo slow tempo muna or use a metronome it helps a lot!!....paractice lang foot exercise and if nagawa mo na try mo makinig sa mga ibang drummers like (dontai)virgil donati, thomas lang lahit sila lang muna magagaling kasi sa foot works yang mga yan mga halimaw!!! and then pag-aralan mo pag nakuha mo na ang technique sisiw na lang yan mga FOB or other emo songs. ok naman ang emo may bands din ako na mga nagustuhan like (taking back sunday, the used, thursday, coheed and cambria etc.)kaya mo yan!!.. feel mo yung song

hindi ka ba nahihirapan pag mabilis? kasi ako pag heel down nahihirapan ko tapos sumasakit eh. kaya heel up ako. pag heel down gamit ko hirap ako at kulang sa power.  :-D sabagay depende nga yan kung saan nasanaay ang isang drummer hehe. dati heel down ako pero mas compfortable ako heel up  :-D

aww. sakit sa muscle nyang heel down.. pero siguro sanayan nga lang talaga... pero diba in terms of balance, mahirap heel down? mas may balance ka sa upuan kapag naka heel up ka..

ewan ko bro, pero parang mas stable ka nga pag heel-down kasi both feet are laid flat on ground, making you much stable. correct me if i'm wrong, pero abdominals or core muscles play a vital role in balancing. yun rin ang isang reason bakit most of us don't fall from thrones.
