I just noticed that you're also using Soldano HR 50. Have you upgraded yours with Mercury Magnetics or O'netics? if so, can you share your experience with it?

This one's an old hr50+ kaya factory installed na yung mercury magnetics. Gusto ko sana magupgrade to deyoungs(parang old SLO) kaso ang mahal, bili nalang ako nung isang hybrid head na gusto ko. Oks naman, you need to crank it up to get that awesome tone which is hassle. Considering na 50w lang sya. Yung clean tone, di siya fendery clean. Pero oks nadin para sakin, trip ko din kasi medyo may grit na clean tone. Kaso minsan naghahanap ako ng fendery clean. Yung effects loop, pangit para sakin. Parang compressed na ewan kaya front of the amp nalang yung delay and other effects. Over all, maganda talaga. Kaso kailangan ko ng lesser maintenance na amp head kaya kukuha ako hybrid(mas oks din yung clean tone). Will still keep this for home and recording use.

Nope..It uses H50/M50 Core laminates on all Transformers and mid priced parts. However, I'm planning to build a new one with All high-end parts including Z11/M6 laminates on all transformers hopefully later this year. hahaha at pag-hinde rin ako tinamad.

Oh by the way, the reason why I've used mid-priced parts its because I'm still gaining confidence on amp building. The Soldano SLO is my 2nd guitar amp build but 5th on my whole tube amp/Preamp endeavors

Awesome! I wish i have the knowledge and skill on building my own tube amp too. Build some plexis, jtm45 too.

Not me.. I just heard/watched them on Youtube. The problem there is that most amps are like pornstars, they get dirtier on camera hahhaha

Yup! At GC newyork. Couple of times at the past but more recently last june. It's better than the hr50+(which i own) but not a league apart. I love its clean channel voicing though, that i can't dial in my hr50+ no matter how hard i try. But the dirt channel is pretty much identical. At least for me(i don't have golden ears lol).

It's a Duende 15W. Bogner belongs to a friend, and so does the VHT. We've been trying out and comparing amps and speakers for the past two weeks. Lots of different sounds but all of them sound nice in their own right.
The H&K sounds like a marshall, the VHT has a bit of a tweedish-dumblish kinda vibe, the bogner sounds like a super refined bassman on steriods, and the blackstar sounds like a black star. 
Got a Vox on the way, though.. after I regretfully sold my Pathfinder a few years back, I figured that I need that Vox sound for a different flavor.

For cleans, hands down Bogner Duende with the Celestion G12H-30W speaker. Pero the VHT can hold its own pag yung speaker ng yun ang ginamit. Right now, there's a Celestion Vintage 30 dun sa 1x12 cab nung VHT.

For classic rock, hard rock, and slight metal tones, the H&K sounds great at louder volumes. As low volumes naman, the Blackstar does those things a bit better. Magkaiba ng sweet spot sa volume eh.

By the way, we tried it the other way around as well. With the G12H-30W, the drive on the Bogner is not the best. A bit on the fizzy/fuzzy side. But when you pair it with the Vintage30, man it's pure rock and roll out there! But then, the clean channel leaves a lot to be desired.
It's funny how speakers play such a HUGE role and that it's really hard to get the best from both worlds (clean and drive) with just one speaker.
It's still most balanced with 2 speakers which have complementing characteristics.

Suhr cab is a 2x12 loaded with Scumback H55 and Celestion V30.

Yup, HT20. That amp is mine. Brother ko si r_chino18. 


Currently naka Celestion V30.
