That depends on the wood. Normally, the "Go to" glue is the aliphatic resin glue (Titebond, Elmers, etc.). For vintage correct, there's hide glue or fish glue. Hide glue is absorbed better by wood so it's not the best option for soft and porous wood. Unfortunately, I can't give you an educated opinion since I haven't glued two planks before ;-)

You can browse through the build threads in MLP and TDPRI. It's a treasure trove of info.

Elmer's glue will do. if you can find titebond, better.  Speaking of which, where can I get titebond here? It's less vicous and very clear when it cures.  I have hide glue but preparing it is a hassle.

And if you're gluing planks that are more than 1.5 inches thick and 8 inches wide your clamp has to be heavy duty.  Otherwise any other clamp can't squeeze the two plates tight enough.

check arlo west pinecaster video via youtube been a fan of his sound and alot of it is being attributed with the pine body, most probably mike is a big fan of pinecaster builds via TDPRI,

good luck on the build sir, i'd prefer "build threads" over tone-talk threads :-D maybe its time to sticky a "luthier thread" masaya manood ng threads ng mga masters :-)

i'm planning to purchase some wood blanks this year but i won't give them to a luthier until next year.  what's the best way to store them at home?  :-)

i store mine (my rosewoods and walnuts) in our upper shelves in our bedroom closet.  wife thinks i'm crazy hehehe

but you can just store them in a place away from the elements.  away from moisture and heat.  just put two sticks on the base of the wood so that air can flow freely on its underside.  it's called stickering wood.  i put my large planks in the garage.

if its green wood expect it to move (warp) a bit, when it does don't worry, it will settle in time.  better it to move now as a plank than as a guitar, no? :-D

away from moisture and heat?  kinda hard to do here in our beloved country.  :-D

i'm thinking of storing it in my closet as well or in one of my cabinets in my room.  or maybe in our bodega in the garage.  mukhang mas safe dun.  ash body planks if ever.  will it be ok there?
