Vintage Tele or just a regular Tele? If it's regular, it could be anything :-D

vintage.  i ask because sometimes in LMII i see indications that flatsawn are used usually for strats.  not sure if it's true for tele as well.  :-)

some actually think that a flatsawn slab of maple is more sound structurally than a QS one. but its open to debate, and we all know what happens here in philmusic when a can of worms like this is opened :-D  but there are old strat necks that are flatsawn that seem to be ok even after all these years.

i think flatsawn is ok, as long as there is no runout.  but to be sure i laminate a strip of wood in the middle just in case it evn thinks of moving...

so mas safe pa rin ang QS?  i'm not sure because i'm of the impression na basta pag strat/tele, dapat flatsawn.   :-D

Structurally, sure. But there are people who say that QS necks produce "darker" tone.

Anyhoo, Vintage Fender necks are flatsawn.

QS is best in my opinion, not for tone but for structural integrity

structure wise! QS, for acoustic QS,

for electric specially fender styles Flatsawn vintage fender are flatsawn,

burst are QS or atleast most of them are

as for me i use both and dont have a preference

you can always laminate an FS neck material in QS hehehehehe

yan ang maganda eh..there are always workarounds to compensate.   :-D

mas inclined na ako sa QS kasi stability talaga ang priority ko sa neck.  i'm actually leaning toward rock maple versus curly maple because sabi sa LMII mas stable daw yung rock maple.

From what I read, most vintage tele's are FS that's why some claim it to have a greater tonal quality than the QS. (Too bad I really can't tell the difference in tone  :-D)

With regard to curly and flamed maple, it's some sort of abnormality of the wood that's why it tends to be more delicate than normal maple. Personally, I like the curly maple for the looks. :-D

daming QS sa US you can order it, dito saatin chambahan, taga cebu ka naman bro diba? ask troy he can probably help you acquire some QS neck blank, even soft maple is hard hehehehe

But in fairness man, matibay at tumatagal din a cocolumber. I dont know anything about the timbre though.

So much wood!!!   :-o

And the pics only show a fraction of the  wood that's in that huge warehouse.

Nice, clean work miko.  I like the tele, I wouldn't put paint on it, but it's just my taste.  I just like the grain of that piece.

When can we go and have stuff resawn?  Can't wait to get that lacote guitar started...
