From post on first Page. .  2008. . It finally find its way back home!!!

My Narra Custom Guitar. .  borrowed by my cousin . . way back 1984!!!
He gave it back to me. . when i visited them last summer. .
not using it anymore. .  he's now a doctor in Cal.USA.
Built this when I was still in college. . .
got a chance to get hold of this nice wood. . .
an amature luthier back then and now. . .
this was the outcome. . .

Body: Narra(red)
Neck: Guijo
Date made: approx. . 1983

Make minor restoration (stored in their attic. ..the finish was damaged badly. . refinish it), replace knobs and added string post. .
Back then this was the best guitar in MY world :-D :-D :-D

wow.musta sir?  galing nyo pala sir!! how's the narra as body and guijo as neck?

J-sonic, help me keep away from our old bodega.  Old wood inside, some are even termite-infested!  It's in the works for demolition, I hope I don't get crazy ideas from your build. :-P :-D

Everytime nakikita ko yung Termite Guitar lalo siyang gumaganda. Para siyang antique furniture. :-)

dude screw the conference! :-D

you're missing out on a fun adventure, well to mikko, eric and i its a fun thing to do.  the last time we went tonewood hunting we spent hours and hours just looking for fretboard blanks

this time mikko says the place is very promising.  he says there are tons (TONS!!) of wood in a huge warehouse.  i'm interested in genuine mahogany for necks and kerfing (or maybe back and sides) and kamagong for back and sides (i plan to make a harp guitar in the future ) and fretboards.

i hope the hunting will be happy

so join us...join us...call in sick...listen to your inner guitar player...

Hahaha! As much as I want to join you guys, I can't back out on this one. Actually, the conference I'm attending is ot work-related. It's the Hillsong Worship Conference in CCF and I paid for the seats.

Just my stroke of luck it coincides with yet another field trip. But hey, maybe we can meet up for some coffee in the future?

just went wood hunting with ah via musicom. had a blast!

the entrance to storage room 1

mahogany planks being dried

after going through tons of wood i settled on a log of kamagong
7 feet x 11" x 6"

the plank was huge and heavy (cost me a pretty penny too :-()

resawed.  the first couple of plates:

the yield:  20 plates and then some.  good for about 4-5 back and side sets

i smell harp guitar

fretboard blanks.  good for about 12-14 fretboards

bookmatched sets:

one thing that entered my mind, it looks (and smells) like malaysian blackwood.  there are many sub species of asian ebony and i really think this is a type of malaysian blackwood. its more olive in color than brown.  but i could be wrong, who cares they're all mine!!!!
