They have been a band for more than a decade, and I can say that they have established themselves as one of the best Pinoy acts ever.

OK, enough of the pambobola... Just want to know your two cents about their new album "S Marks The Spot" and where to buy the album. I got the feeling that they have become more indie now, with their new single "Procastinator"

imo theyre one of the few really relevant bands today. whoever is writing their songs definitely knows how rock music is supposed to work. kung wala sila napaka boring ng eksena. god bless 'em

Ilalaunch nila ang album nilang <s> Marks the Spot sa UP Fair Concert this coming February 12!  :mrgreen:

Maganda yung old stuff nila nung andun pa si Marc. Nung umalis na siya, naging mas accessible yung mga kanta nila. And it's still all good.  :wink:

These guys are so on top of their game.  They're one of the few bands that actually has a chance of expanding their audience to an international level.

Kaya tour na ng US ang kailangang gawin nila  :evil:

Bakit Sandwich ang ipinangalan nila sa banda?  :?

Malupet talaga sila pero wala akong ideya.  :-)

Answers (correct nerdy me if I'm wrong)...

1. Sandwich was originally Raimund Marasigan and Diego Castillo on guitars, Myrene Academia on bass, Mike Dizon on drums, Marc Abaya on vox, and Miko Ilas (ako yun) on clappers...
2. Just my opinion here... I guess the name came from th fact that they came from different bands before being Sandwich (Raims obviously an Ehead, Myrene and Diego on The Aga Muhlach Experience, Mike in Teeth. I think they got Marc in an audition.) So different components there making a wonderful combo.
3. Malupet talaga sila. The fact that they have done OSTs for TV shows and commercials without being even a bit commercial is respectable.
4. Yes. He was the vox when their songs were "Two Trick Pony" and "Butterfly Carnaval". Siya rin at yung sa "masilungan", pero iniba yung vox for the vid because ala na si Marc noon.

I actually enjoy their more melodic songs as opposed to the ones that are only half-sung, half-spoken.  Each release also seems to have the band more and more comfortable with the guitar driving their music.  I also enjoy the new, barely-heard layers underneath the arrangements as evidenced by Procrastinator.  The Quark Henares-lensed music video accompanying this song is also a winner.
