my monitor turns violet

nung sunday ng gabi, ginagamit ko siya... maayos naman... walang defect. maayos na maayos yung PC ko that time. internet ako from 10p.m till 3a.m. walang aberya. maayos...

nung monday ng umaga, pag on ko sa computer, si monitor monochromatic na. color violet na siya. yung icons, yung fonts, yung wallpaper... lahat color violet na!!! pero gumagana naman ng maayos yung CPU ko. nakapag chat pa ako. nakapag surf pa ako, at nakapag type pa ako. yun nga lang, color violet lang lahat ng kulay.

na try ko na galawin yung set-up nung monitor, but to no avail. na try ko na din i-off den i-on ang monitor... wala pa din. na try ko na din alisin yung cable ng monitor sa CPU.. ala pa din...

any advise? thanks so much...

hmmm.. sakin naman dati eh nagiging yellow lahat.. ang gnagawa ko lang eh inaayos ko ung cable ng monitor. kasi maluwag na ata ung sakin. pero sbe mo eh natry mo na un so hmmm.. ndi kaya bumibigay na ung monitor mo?

boot to BIOS, check if the violet color is also present, if so, try monitor self test - unplug the video cable from the cpu, check if u still see the violet color when the video cable is unplugged.. - if same thing, monitor problem. replace monitor!  

check video cable for any broken/bent pins.. boot to safe mode, if you dont see it on safe mode, its a video driver problem. reseat video card/uninstall/update video driver..  

try mo din restore factory settings ng monitor..

is there a way for me to fix the monitor or at least do something about the missing pin? mei pag-ada pa ba yun or totally replacement na nag kelangan? thanks...

that depends sa monitor mo kasi... since missing pin lang yan baka pede mo pa mapalitan yung cable kaso nga lang if the cable of your monitor is fixed sa likod mejo wala nang lunas... pero kung yung na dedetach madali lang palitan yan... but i think... madali lang palitan yan kasi dati binukas ko yung monitor ko para linisin tapos nakita ko parang naka plug lang sa likod pero in such a way na nakalock siya pero madali lang naman hugutin if you can find a similar cable you can do it yourself... kung mejo too much for you to handle na yung stuff na sinabi ko... buy a new one... everything's cheap na nowadays...

if its an LCD, just replace the video cable.. npapalitan nman yan eh. pag CRT malamang integrated yan.. i dnt know if it can be replaced though.. asked a local tech to replace it.. worse case scenario, replace the monitor!

haaaay... its fixed eh... and im not a hardware techie. im kinda scared to open the monitor itself to see if the cable is really attanched. anyway, if i'll be buying a let's say a 15 inches black monitor, how much will it cost me? hehe... nakakapanghinayang lang kasi. super liit lang ng cause tapos papalitan ko na yung whole thing...

a 15" crt monitor will cost you around 3200-4000 pesos... but if you can save more let's say mga 9k go for an lcd na...

15 inch crt.. 2k - 4k (brandnew)
pero check mo ung mga parang refurbished na crt monitor okay pa dn nman eh

17 inch CRT  meron 1.5k lang

sa mga surplus shop na pc parts dun meron

try mong patingin sa technician baka kaya niyang pagtiyagaan yung pagsolder ng bagong vga plug

sayang di mo inabutan yung 17" monitor na binenta ko bago ako nag upgrade sa LCD last month lang...

super slightly used, 4 months ng nasa akin pero mga 48 hours pa lang sya nagamit(total number of hours used)

tapos 2 years warranty pa, brand new nung binili ko sa store..Php4,400...nung binenta ko binarat ng binarat hanggang bumaba sa 2k na lang...

i wan trying to look for the missing pin sa likod ng PC. sad to day, can't find it. mei nabasa ako sa isang tech forum na lagyan ko ng piece of paper n kasing haba ng isang pin yung bungi. it worked for awhile. mga 3 hours siguro. after that, violet nnman siya. haha..

I knew it... I was about to post this also pero nagbasa muna ako ng mga replies... Ngayon ko lang kse nabasa itong thread...

As far as I know, all computer parts are disposable nowadays...  Even monitor technicians mahirap maghanap...
