Hi fellow forumites!

I need help in setting up the above to share internet access to 2 computers.

I am able to access internet with one computer directly connected to the zyxel modem, so I deduce the problem is with setting up the Asus rx3041 router.

I am able to access internet with two computers connected to the Asus rx3041 router. The problem is that when the IP address is changed automatically by PLDT (through DHCP), the connection is lost.

This I think is because I set up the router with a fixed IP address that I get when one computer is directly connected to the zyxel cable modem.

My question is: What setting should I set the Asus rx3041 router so that it can automatically follow the automatic change of the IP address from PLDT? I would highly appreciate a step by step instruction to help me solve this problem. Thanks fellow forumites! :-)

bro, auto-connect ka ba? may ip ba ang workstations mo? try to put ip's on your workstations, since 192.168.1.1 ang router mo, try to put these on your pcs.

pc1
ip address: 192.168.1.2
subnet: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.1.1
dns: 192.168.1.1

pc2
ip address: 192.168.1.3
subnet: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.1.1
dns: 192.168.1.1

Pls help!! :?

change the router's settings from fixed IP address to DHCP or dynamic IP address. pag kase nakafixed IP address ka at nagbago ang PLDT ang IP ng router mo is still the "fixed" one.

do you know how to access your router via web browser? if not, open your web browser and type 192.168.1.1 on the address field, look for LAN and WAN settings, copy and paste mo dito yung settings.

Sorry sis! I will try to do this but it may take time, haven't done this before.

Automatic na nagco-connect yung PLDT provided cable modem, so walang problem with PLDT. They only provide service for one connection. Sagot na ng  User if the problem involves routing the internet connection to more than one computer.

Kung PPPoE I can do the set-up ng router kasi may option ng PPPoE duon sa menu ng router.

Yes bro, I can access the router via web browser. I will try bro to upload.

Maybe others can answer this! I have no idea about this. :?

kse most likely kung PPPOE no need to bridge the modem anymore. Pero kung hinde, the modem should be bridge pa di ba?
