That is how you will know you are getting a high-end GRECO SE.

I just want to share my thoughts on this Sir. Highend EXCEL pickups for SE series were released in 1976 but it doesn't mean that earlier models were low-end SE series. The quality and craftmanship of SE series were at its best during the early 70's til early 80's that why they called it the Golden Age for Greco. The pickups were just a one time factory deal - still carries an alnico magnet, it is just a label, i guess what we should be looking at is the whole craftmanship of the guitar. This is just my opinion sir based on all the reviews i've read regarding GRECO SE-series strat.

Actually i have seen some of the earlier models sells higher in japan auctions.  :-)

all japan greco pickups i believe are high end but you have to hear the EXCEL pickups and be a believer of what the pickup offers.
