ask ko lang how can i add more gain to sd-1
but keep the tonality of the pedal

update on my thread after 5 yrs, recently purchased a bnew sd-1 again and moded it to tubescreamer tone and
it sounded like 98% ts808, for the record this are the changes made

c4 ->0.022uf (223)
c5 ->0.1uf (104)
c6 ->0.0562uf (562)

diodes are stock(nice grit when driven hard than making it asymetrical so keep it that way)
try it to your sd-1  :mrgreen:

yes there is ample low-mid frequency boost..im uploading a youtube vdo demo now  :)

bro, to make it more 'open sounding' remove C6 capacitor...

Trying to remove c6 just makes the sound microphic in my opinion. Using sd1 stock is best for high end guitars like fender US strat, but for mediocre to lowend guitar brands, modding this pedal could compensate :-)

Here's what I did with my SD-1
C2 = 0.047uF metal film cap
C6 =  remove
C7,C10 = 1uF metal film cap
C8 = 0.1uF metal film cap
R2 = 620Kohms

change log:

took out 1 clipping diode to make it symmetrical clipping
c2=(183k) change to 223k(TS specs)

I mod mine, I studied electrical eng. and good with the soldering pen :)
