Am I the only one here who doesnt shred?

I've been playing guitar seriously for quite some time already, but for some reason, i've never caught the "shred" bug.

I cant shred. I can only play the simplest of legatos. Poorly even. I am very keen on learning new things on the guitar but through the years, i've never thought of pushing myself to learn how to play fast. I don't even try. As much as i'd love to learn it, I just don't find the need for it.

I've done some thinking and i've come to realize that a guitarists playing style is largely contributed to the music he loves to listen to. Not the cool new band you accidentally discovered online because you were bored, but the kind of music that you actually seek because you dig it so much... and simply put, mine doesn't require me to shred.

Ok. Enough of the melancholy. Those who don't (can't) shred, raise your right hand!

You don't have to learn it papi.. What's important is that you enjoy what you play. Shredding is so overrated anyway..

Di ko kaya mag-shred. Wala akong balak mag-shred. Kapag nakakarinig ako ng shred, para lang akong nakakarinig ng country music. Dedma.

Hindi lang talaga ako interesado sa style. Hindi ko rin trip 'yung ganoong tunog. 'Yun lang. Pero malay mo, in the future, magka-interes ako. Maturity and all that sh*t.

But I want to learn a bit of shred, just so I can do some of the fast runs in some of the songs that I want to learn. But full time shred? I don't think so.  :lol:

ni di ko nga matapos tapos ang canon rock dahil sa shredding at sweeping part nya eh, badtrip.

i do fast runs..pero hindi sya shred..hehe para sakin kasi pagsinabi mong shred..parang 100k notes per minute..haha
yup i'll raise my hand..i'm more on playing my guitar with feelings..mas dig ko yung ganong tunog..
