by the way new ako sa 7-string, just got mine last october, after ko tumigil mag-guitar last 1997. kung gusto nyo, post din kayo ng mga guitar and sound clips dito. compare notes ba :)

had mine last year. fully adjusted na even going to 6 string. want to get good pickups.
may japan custom na 7string sa audiophile. mahal nga lang 50k

yup meron! i got mine from RJ. Ibaņez copy. kahapon dumaan ako dun sa gale meron bago. check mo bro. pero yung sa kin it needs major modification. both to make it more playable and good sounding.
pero more or less PWEDE na rin kahit papano.

Park square yung nakita kong RG na 7 String. 50K nga siya. Meron din dun Jem na 50K
mukang parehas tayo ng gitara tumorwarrior hehehehhe 7 String na RJ yung sakin. Red yung finish, last year ko binili ingatan mo lang yung bandang sa binding kasi yung sakin nagkacrack na yung binding. Ok pa naman yung tone hanggang ngayon.

San yung audiophile sa Park Square? Yung Phasetron or yung Upscale Audio?
Btw, bago rin ako sa 7 strings, last September lang. Iba talaga low B string, kahit blues ang settings mo, mag-chord ka lang sa B string, ang bigat agad!
Sa scale runs, minsan pinapareho ko lang sa position sa high B para mas madaling isipin yung mga nota.
Strength training na rin kasi heavier gauge ang strings na gamit ko sa 7str, 10-58 on a 26.5inch-scale compared sa 6 string ko na 9-42.

ako, naka ibanez rg7420 ako nung 2001 pa... ginagamit ko sa tugtugang mabigat.. kaya ngayon, naghahanap ako ng bass eq or gtar eq para mahalo ko sa ds1... hehe.. wla lang.. share lang..
sa ngayon, masnadadalian akong magsolo sa 6.. pero.. sinasanay ko pa rin ang mga kamay ko sa 7.. sanay kasi ako sa lower notes naglalaro pag naka 7... ayun.. hehe. gs2 ko matuto mag jazz gamit ang 7.. sabi nila oks daw ang 7 sa mga jazz pieces na may walking basslines... tancha ko hirap nun.. meron ba sa inyo ang marunong?

cool topic....i've had a 7 string for about 8 years now...i have one of the first ibanez rg 7 strings....very cool to play with...the neck is flat and fast and it's surprisingly light....love it

I bought it for 12K na may tawad hahahahaha :D. Mukang local lang yung pups na nilagay nila sa gitara ko eh. It does sound mediocre pero mapagtatyagaan na. If you want sample sound, go to my band's soundclick page ->http://www.soundclick.com/batopik. BTW, I used MT-2 as my primary distortion.

black sa kin bro, HH pickup. papashave ko pa yung neck pati yung body sa may cavity ba tawag dun. hirap kasi i-access ng higher frets.

tumorwarrior - Yung studio recording lang pero di 7 Stringed yung style ng playing ko. Band ko kasi more on alt. pop or alt. rock, wala lang talaga akong spare guitar para sa ganung type ng music tsaka curious lang talaga ako sa 7 string kaya binili ko. Downside nun di na ko sanay sa 6 stringed :(.

7th string is tuned to low-A in jazz. Bakit? Jazz use a lot of bar chords--logical to tune in low A. if you are interested in discussiions on jazz in low-A checkout:

Oo nga! Anong strings ang gamit niyo? September lang kami bumili ng 7 string kaya hindi pa kami nagpapalit pero nalalapit na. Ano nga ba gauge gamit niyo? Yung sa akin, factory spec pa rin, 10-58. E papano naman yung sa inyo? May nabibili bang 7 string set dito?

I was lucky enough to grab a set at RJ Glorietta 1. It was a D'addario (It was a light gauge set). Just buy a 6 string set kung rusty na yung ilalim tas pakuluan niyo nalang yung B string. If ever na maputulan kayo ng B (Which is highly improbable), Bili nalang kayo ng .58 gauge na bass string tutal parehas din naman eh or try your luck sa RJ :D

yung spare ko nabili ko pa sa singapore.. d addario xl . . gauge 9. naghahanap ako ngyon ng thicker gauge... pero, mag iiba intonation ko. pag nag .10 ba ako na gauge, magpapalit ba tlga ng mlupet ang intonation ko? sa audiophile na lang ako maghahanap... meron daw dun... haaaay... hehehehe...

Buy .56-.58 guage Bass string for your Low B string in case na maputol or probably boil it. Pero pag nakafloyd ka(Which is usually the case pag 7 string), iunwind mo nalang yung tuner mo tas ikabit mo nalang ulit. Naka 1 year nga pala yung Low B ko bago ko pinalitan :D. The bottom 6 string could go with an ordinary 6 string set.
Nga pala, naalala ko yung gitarista ng Rivermaya (Mike ata yung name), nagamit ng Peavey Predator 7 string tsaka Ibanez na 7 string din :D

pinachop-chop ko na guitar ko kay arie, sana maganda turn out. some shaving here and there... neck and body.
i was thinking about pick up replacement pero nung naplug ko sa amp na matino, parang nagdalawang isip ako kasi ang linis pala ng tunog ng guitar ko, pag nakaturn down and tone knob ang kapal ng dating, but not to the point na muddy na. just as i wanted. pangit lang yung praktis amp ko. cheapipay kasi.

Yep, coz I have no other decent axe :( yung luma ko yung "batman" axe maugong yung pickup tsaka mahina output. hanap pako pickup replacement. BTW yung mga pickups ba sa JB (yung Humbucker) di ba umuugong? MIK naman daw balak ko nga bumili eh.

just got my axe yesterday from arie, (i'm not brewing something, just wanted to share my experience). ang galing nya pala mag-ayos ng guitar. pinashave ko yung neck and body sa may joint para mas madali ang access sa higher frets plus action and intonation adjustments, fret levelling.
i didn't expect na magiging ganun ka playable yung guitar ko, pero after ko makuha. dude almost speechless ako.

2K bro, kasama na fret leveling, action and intonation adjustment pero wala pang retouching yun. kaya ganun yung guitar ko walang pintura sa likod. super satisfed ako bro. except for the fact na malapad talaga ang neck ng 7, effortless sya ifret ngaun, feather touches lang ok na(bit exagerating here :))

Pero di pa haggle todo yung tanong ko sa audiophile. Di kasi ako ganun kagaling sa haggling, ermats ko yung bihasa dun. Napilit ng ermats ko ibaba ng 28k yung pearl forum series na binebentang 36k lol. baka kaya pa ibaba sa mga 3.7k yun kung sakali.

di naman ako nahirapan magshift kasi tagal ako pahinga sa gitara, taon ang binilang. so nung bumili ako ng 7 parang nag-aaral lang ulit ako. nalilito ako ngayon sa 6 hehehe parang lalagpas yung daliri ko sa ibabaw heheheh. try mo RJ. around 10k ok na yun.

Lol, if you're willing to buy a new neck or let someone customize one. Then you'll have to shave off the body to neck joint, pups, and bridge. It's possible but definitely not worth the trouble. I can pressume that you'll spend more than 50k with those jobs including the parts.

transition? for me, wala naman eh.. if you're used to playing a 6, then if you play a 7, ganun din yung pag strum or pluck mo.. if you want to hit the 7th, palitan mo position ng kamay mo.. yun lang.. well, at least for me.. i had no problems in switching :) ang iba lang tlga, yung lapad ng neck. iba siya kesa sa 6.. para sa akin, masmabilis ako sa 6 kesa sa 7.. pero ginagamit ko yung 7 string ko kasi all around sya.. pwde magaan, pwde mabigat...
about brands you hafta look out for, try schecter or ibanez. great guitars, IMHO. well, of course, it will depend on ur playing style. meron nga diyan na epiphone lp na 7 string eh.. kaw bahala kung pano mo gagamitin.. rakrakan lang ba o jazz... pero cnasabi ko sayo, all around sya, pero syempre, nde niya tlga mahahabol ang mga tunog ng iba't ibang gitara.. try mo rin ESP LTD... ok din yun.. dami cheap sa ebay pare.. magpadala ka nalang dito thru hand carry ng isang relative sa tate kung may uuwi.. ayun..

i'm still not yet done with my custom works pero so far i'm getting the tone that i wanted na with my V-amp 2 and waqshburn bad sog amp. andun na yung punch and angst.
medyo mabusisi nga lang yung pag set up ng floyd pero lakasan lang ng loob yan. unless meron kang super human strength, di naman siguro mawawasak yung bridge kahit na anong adjustment gawin mo heheheh

Mahirap yan dahil hindi lang pickup ang kelangan mo. Magkaiba scale length ng Les Paul at Ibanez, mas maiksi ang LP kaya mas bilog ang tunog. Tapos 24 frets pa yang Ibby mo kaya nasa maling location din yung neck pickup. Di mo makukuha yung ganong "woman tone" ng les paul kahit anong pickup gamitin mo. Magkaiba din yung wood combinations kaya lalong malabong magtunog lp yan.
Kung gusto mo ng LP tone na 7 string, eto iskorin mo:
Ang suggestion ko, hanapin mo na lang ang timpla na best magsho-showcase ng tunog ng gitara mo, kesa pilitin mong magtunog iba sya.

bought my 7-string last 2003 sa rj for only 9k! yeah, you still need a lot of modifications on this guitar, specially sa pick-ups and sa pots. pero pwede na to!
i also saw an RG 1527 sa audiophile main, but it's a whopin 52k!

Hi Perf,
Yes sir, ako ang nakabili ng UV from Vince. Ilang beses ko rin pinag isipan if I really want it despite the condition. IMO what Vince did to the guitar was sacreligeous, (shaved the top plus full fretboard scallop) with all due respect to him. I guess he just wanted to add his own touch and "personalize" it.
As a Vai/Ibanez fan, I had to rescue the guitar and restore it back to its full glory. It's now with Arie for restoration. More details on that as it progresses.
If you remember we exchanged emails last year about your custom guitar and how I wanted to build one? Your guitar is very close to what I had in mind for my custom-built guitar. Naka hold ngayon yung project na yon coz of the UV. It's funny how the UV was previously owned by you. I hope you still don't think na na-babale wala lang yung guitar.
Despite that I'm away from Pinas right now, I didn't mind the hassle of sending Vince the money though I don't know him personally. I know the UV is still worth something kahit heavily modded sya.

^^^ pick up installation. hndi tama ung pagkabit ng pickups. medyo tabingi and hndi maayos ung trabaho. medyo malaki ung pagbutas nya sa body kaya even after the pickup ring is installed, kita ung cavity... although maliit lng naman. pero halata p rin.

Nagtesting na naman ako ng Ibanez RG7321 dito kanina...sarap gamitin for single-note riffs. Somewhat empowering ang pakiramdam, hebigats. :lol: Kaya lang ako nde pa makabili kasi babaka-sakali ako na maka tyempo pa ng RG 7421 or RG 7621. hehehe! :lol:

evrything even the hardware is exactly the same. pickups, floyd etc. some of their guitars even have washburn pickups which has the letter "w" on them which is weird.

Hello to all 7 stringer brothers!
I'm new to the forum and I was very happy to discover a lot of Filipino guitarists playing the 7 string. This is COOL...I mean very cool.
It has been my dream to have a 7 string guitar and really obsessed with it.
So I bought one. I'm not in the Phils right now and living in a staff house of our company. People here told me that I'm a [gooey brown stuff] head coz i bought an expensive guitar. They just don't know how valuable this guitar is and How I really dreamt of having one good 7 string demon.
I felt so low because of these people(people living with me in the staff house) to treat me like some sort of an as#%*le because I spent too much for the guitar.
Nevertheless, I became alive again upon reading this thread and seen a lot who got nice 7 string guitars.

Meron ba Artcore Ibaņez model na 7-string, or something similar, ie. budget range? Jazz artists kasi like John Pizzarelli, Howard Alden etc. all use very pricey/expensive 7 strings (Benedetto, etc., which I probably will never be able to afford in this lifetime :cry: :cry:) Any ideas on what budget 7 string archtops are available?

Ive tried tuning the low B string to G. and it sounds ok, but id rather have it in B so that I could easily dig in and get that tight chug-chug sound...
as we all know the lower the tuning gets the sloppier the tone is. and if youre gonna use a pitchshifter it might just sound too digital, IMO.
Im using 10's and if i ever tune down to G or any thing lower than that. i'll probably get an 11 or 12.

i switched to 7 strings more or less 2 yrs ago pa since nanakaw sa gig yung 6-string ko dati...sobrang desperate ko magkaroon ng guitar i ended up buying an RJ ibanez copy na 7 string...siguro ako lang yung minalas dahil quite defective yung napunta sakin (me sabit yung frets, wala sa intonation, madali mawala sa tono yung bridge)...i tried saving the guitar so dinala ko ke sir arie for refrets and other stuffs...ok naman yung refret pero the other stuffs that i requested eh hindi naman nagawa...plus pinalitan ko yung pickups ng Tonezone7 saka Blaze7 neck...it turned out na hindi ko pa din nakuha yung tunog na gusto ko so naghanap ako ng ibang guitar (most probably yung kahoy ang me sala, mahogany sya as far as i know)...i got an Ibanez 7420 galing ke sir IncX...this guitar is my main axe since binenta ko na yung RJ ko para mapakinabangan ng ibang gustong mag-7...so far you 7420 ko ngyn mjo modified na since half step lower ang tuning namen sa band kaya nagalaw ko na yung sa likod, pareho nang Blaze yung bridge and neck pickups, refretted by Sir Jon, saka custom ko na yung switchings ko...

my previous seven stringer was the RJ copy and it was not that good. I was wishing there were 7 string SG's around within my price range but as of the moment hahaha d kaya ng bulsa ko ang GAS. Im planning to sell my RG7321 soon if I can find a Schecter that I can afford.

there was an Omen-7 at the classifieds going for 16k but I dont know if I can find a buyer for my guitar THEN purchase it on time before someone buys it. my band is pretty busy and i dont think i can go for two weeks without a guitar thats why

I saw one 7 string acoustic guitar na naka tune sa E-A-D-G-b-e-a. As in high A ang nandun imbes na Low B. Possible ba ito sa rg7321 without having too much tension sa neck? Heard George Lynch did it. Trip ko kasi yung extra high note na tunog. I was thinking kaya ng rg7321 since fixed bridge siya. Nasubukan ko kse sa RG1527 (floyded) and I kept breaking the high A string dahil sa pull nung edge pro.
Or kung hindi man, kaya ba yung standard C tuning plus a high 7th string?

gauge 56 kasi gamit ko sa pang 7th string, kung 46 kaya gagamitin ko eh pede na idrop sa C??? Aeadgbe kasi tuning ko,
paset-up mu muna sa luthier, paset-up mo un brigde pa sa string tension ng gtara. kasi pagmasmanipis un string un 7th, alog alog un tunog un pang 7th mo, lalo na pagsingle note riffs :-D

it depends on what you guys are playing. if you guys do covers done in dropped D then a seven string would be overkill na.
pero you can try ser like what I do, i tune the first 6 strings to Dropped D (dropped C# in our case) then I leave the 7th string tuned to B (A# in mine) and use it sparingly only for one note low end riffing. this way we can play our old tunes that were written for a 6 stringer but still reach down and do low notes.
pero if you plan to write songs that goes down to B or lower, i guess the other guitarist would either have to adjust his chording and both of you would have to discuss rythm chores.

I guess I'd have to experiment with it then...I havta wait til I get the guitar though but what I'll prolly do is go for the EADGBEA tuning for a while..either that, or we arrange something so that the other guitarist would tune his guitar to C. Or otherwise.

I use a 56 gauge on my 6 so it's not so bad. I accidentally bought a .10 set for a 7 string out of haste..ended up putting the 56 where i was supposed to place 46 on.
decided to keep it there. liked how deep it sounded. been there ever since. and no tuning problems AT ALL considering I constantly switch from E to drop D.

i think may peavey predator dun for less than 10k? i havent dug up the classifieds pero you can try going all the way back 10 pages baka meron pa na FS

yup meron! i got mine from RJ. Ibaņez copy. kahapon dumaan ako dun sa gale meron bago. check mo bro. pero yung sa kin it needs major modification. both to make it more playable and good sounding.
pero more or less PWEDE na rin kahit papano.

you need to route it, the EMGS are square-ish, you need to make room for the angles

you could chisel it, it was ok with my 7420, but because of the routing i couldnt use dimarzio anymore, that why i sold my 7420 its EMG only now lol, i wouldnt do it with a j.custom,

try mo din bro maghanap ng EMG81-7. mas maganda reviews nun kesa sa EMG707. yung EMG707 kasi 7string version ng EMG85 kaya mejo mas low output kesa EMG81-7 :)

If you guys are going to go EMG's on your seven string, you guys better be sure kasi there's no turning back to regular pickups because of routing a bit. If you make a mistake in your choice, saying the emg 7's are not for me, sorry nalang. I might as well find someone who uses these pickups on their guitar than to try and then regret in the end. If it were duncans or dimarzio, no problems.
just my 2 pesoses.
oo exactly why im 50-50 to the idea. i wouldnt want to do something that I would end up regretting.

the battery cavity wouldnt be a problem you could just use velcro it the back of the electronics cavity cover or cut a whole on the plate then install a battery cavity in the plate, for easier access

uy thats cheap. The other week I was checking that out at Perfect Pitch Iloilo, retails for double that price i think.
im saving up for a Berhinger V-Amp for our little studio, a Line 6 is still past my budget :lol:
@the guitar: hmmm i cant clearly make out what those PUPS are tho.
lol, i cant see the pups hopefully the owner will shed some light :), V-amp2 i have it its my favorite lazy practice amp, there are times im just tired of setting up my pedals, its a good tool for recording but for recording bands i still prefer amped :) have you fixed that noise problem?

yup. I provided na lang my Epiphone SG for recording bands and re-oriented the computer. I also figured that I could just record a guitar clean and add effects and drive using plugins, a lot less hassle than trying to troubleshoot a noisy digital processor.
i had a client makulit talaga, pinipilit nya gitara and GFX4 nya, and i was explaining the setup was too noisy and we could cook up the same mix using my gear and we ended up trying to troubleshoot his sound for 4 hours.
id love to go amped, but I dont have the time to setup one and find the "sweet spots" tho.
OT on the 7 string thread :) :D back to regular programming.

about sa scalloped fret na 7 string, may kakilala ako na ganun setup ng gitara niya. if you know ron ibanez of barrabas his using a peavey 7 string 22 frets scalloped lahat ng frets niya. nasubukan ko na rin yun IMHO mahirap nga pero kung pag-aaralan mo kung paano gamitin ang isang bagay makukuha mo naman yun diba? :-)

Dude, mukhang walang nabibili dito na Floyd Rose na pang seven string. Good thing may mga forumites that order abroad. Order ka na lang sa kanila.

I was thinking of getting a 7 stringed axe kaso lang hindi ba ofshoot kung gagamitin ito for milder genres like reggae or ska??? pansin ko kasi mostly ginagamit ang 7 string sa mas heavier and more aggressive riffs like metal and all sorts

its a good guitar. actually it didnt blow me away, well its a seven string... i needed one so i guess its a practical buy since its the cheapest available ibby 7 string that isnt a GIO.
the pickups suck, you need to either scalarize it or buy new ones.

may problem nga lang, some parts of the sticker started to break, unnoticable sya but if i don't do something baka lalaki. i think it has something to do with the wood or sticker warping.
ill be redoing this when I have a lot of free time and bury it na lang in a layer of clear lacquer to make the "binding" permanent and seamless.

those are actually one long white stripe sticker. took me hours and several attempts to stick it seamlessly across the guitar. siguro mga 10 feet nagamit ko bago nakuha. kelangan kasi idikit sya in one take kung baga para walang dugtong and because its so thin, napuputol sya if hndi ka maingat.

I got my RJ 7 Strings scalarized recently...
Before it was scalarized, it was very muddy kapag sinaksak ko na sa effects ko (Line 6 POD XT LIVE). I was trying to tweak and tweak pero medyo sablay talaga siya kapag stock. Hindi siya presentable sa gig (I'm quite used to high end guitars..) soundwise. Lalo na kapag nag ririffing ako sa B String ang labo ng tunog talaga. Sabi ko nga sa kaibigan ko, pucha kahit PodXt Live hindi kinaya ang RJ guitar ko...
So syempre pumasok sa isip ko palitan pickups pero since ang dami kong perang nagastos this month sa guitar hobby ko, hindi pa kaya. So yun I decided na I'd ask help from BAMF.
I've tried his scalarizers before and talagang inimprove niya ang sound ng mga effects ko (One of my previous effects, a GT2 clone by lipton now with the Typecast guitarist was scalarized with Metalcore Gen2; ito main dirt niya ngayon sa pagkaalam ko).
So yun, I wanted to find out if the BAMF's invention could produce the magic it did for me before.
So pina scalarize ko and the results were great. Now the guitar is usable, it's clearer, and fun to use! Of course I would not hesitate to change the pickups once I have created enough money pero sa state ngayon nung 7 strings ko okay na okay.
Thanks to sir BAMF and his technology! Kung wala ka, hindi ko magagamit itong gitara na ito hanggang magka-Php10,000 ako. Sa presyong Php700, pwedeng pwede na!

Before I would not be able to riff on the low end. Talagang hindi mo na maiintindihan ung notes sa chords. Ngayon na improve. Usable na ung gitara. pwede ko na pang-gig in my opinion.

play it like your normal guitar, but just mentally remind yourself there's an extra string.
"high" string? yung #1 is usually tuned to E like any other guitar. yung bass string nagdagdag ng isa, tuned usually to low B

An Ibanez S7320 user here. It wasn't my priority to buy it but when i got to AP-MOA, it was the first thing that had taken my attention so i bought it right away. Nice guitar, just needed some time adjusting to it.

Pasyal nga ako AP to try the S7320. Balak ko kunin yung UNIVERSE sa main, but people there discouraged me kasi may GEM naman na daw ako. Napag-isip tuloy ako :-D. The funny thing is when I started using 7s wayback 2002, I said to myself na 7s na ako all the way. Pero nung umorder ako ng UNIVERSE sa AP, GEM ang dumating. I can't resist the beauty of the GEM kaya yun, napabalik ako sa 6s :-D. Simula nun natigil na pagkuha ko ng 7s. But that S7320 is interesting :evil:.

Sir, is the clean tone of EVO-7 in the neck position good sounding (w/o distortion)? Ok lang ba yung evo7 nasa neck kahit mas malakas yung output nya ng konti sa D-sonic7?

The bridge of FV stevens is not good. It easily gets out of tune, at least mine does particularly the A-string. I know two other owners of FV stevens 7string who had similar problems. One of them sold that guitar just months after buying it. It's basically an "OK na rin" guitar but if you change the bridge, it will definitely be a gig-worthy guitar. If you have extra money to invest in new pick-ups, mas magiging OK yung gitara.
Also, the neck is thicker than the Ibanez RG-7 necks, you will have to take some time getting comfortable playing its thicker neck. Hope this helps.

just a regular 9 guage + the low b,
all my 7's has 3 springs and the same positions as my 6 ones, you would know your springs are bad if you need more than 3

both have different designs and features, mostly the neck shaped is the difference, so its better to try which one is comfortable..

china makes some decent seven strings like 'douglas', but then better to try it first before buying it

How? i saw the liquifire demo and you're right, just the one i need! thanks man! i used to own X2N and tonezone 'ala Michael Romeo' set-up on my other guitar, and its very very far from it... not too harsh, but not muddy, the clarity is there plus its very very sweet. But i hope that demo is as good as it sound when played live... hrmm but i didn't heard any clean demos of these

Inlay. Kaso since pinalitan niya yung dating inlay, kailangan din magparefret. Kung tama pagkakaalala ko mga 2-3k yung refret + dots. Sa kaniya na yung fretwire at inlays. Kaso kasi kasabay rin siya ng iba pang mga pinagawa...

Cliche as this may sound, but it all boils down to your own preference for tone. The RG7321's equipped with stock (they say sucky) pickups with basswood body, maple neck and rosewood fretboard. The RGA7's equipped with Ibanez's own active pickups (which they say lacks dynamics), mahogany arched-top body, maple neck and rw fretboard. If you ask me, I like the aesthetics of the RGA7 better, mostly because of the body bindings (which the 7321 doesn't have). But be wary though, the RGA7's stock pickups are EMG-sized (and thus the body is EMG-routed), so replacing these with passive pickups (like Dimarzio's) without negative consequences on the aesthetics would be quite a challenge. Also, I've read that the stock active pickups of the RGA7 lack dynamics; I think this is largely due to the fact that these pickups operate on 3 volts (2 AA batteries) -- not much headroom there really.
I've tried the RG7321 (I actually have one), and all I can say is that the pickups do lack some sort of character; they sound somewhat "generic", but with right compressor and EQ settings it can get the job done. And no, I haven't changed the pups in mine. I haven't tried the RGA7 though. But I think both would be good platforms for (pickup) upgrades. Peace out! :-D

Whoa. That's just tasty. The Blaze Neck has a somewhat scooped mids, right? I plan slapping a Blaze Custom for the bridge and Air Norton for the neck of my 7321, but I think it would be quite tedious to look for these 7 string pups here in the Phils.

Mids sa Blaze neck is down relatively... it sounds dark.. best nyan order ka kay Bossingboss.... Ok na ok ka deal yan!
Yup those are the TW and DB! me lovey them! The TW is getting more play-time in my band. It just sounds good on 7-strings and drop b due to the relative brightness of it

mine stays in tune.
naglagay lng ako ng metalcore scalarizer with the stock pups, made it sound a lot better. i think... IMHO :wink: :evil:

My 7321 pretty much stays in tune with its stock tuners. Just don't forget to pull the strings after restringing to tighten up the windings around the tuners. That will give you better tuning stability. You won't really have (much) tuning problems in general with fixed bridge guitars.
Ano po ang magandang active pickups? Yung pwede sa CHUG-CHUG na pwede rin pang jazz.
EMGs make great active pups. check their youtube channel.

I use snark SN-5. It doesn't have problems detecting the low B when the batt is still fresh. You'll know the batt is going to die soon when it's already having problems detecting the low B

Late reply, but what the heck. I used a Korg Pitchblack before when tuning my former Peavey TR7 and RG7321. No problems encountered.

most arent like that at all.. and may need the hands of a trusted guitar geek to make it feel right.. the nut was a bit high on the one's i tried need to slot those..just minor things to adjust.. pickups decent i guess.. for what it cost

mine is a Schecter Diamond Series. nabili ko lang sa isang kaibigan. Seymour Duncan yung p-ups and has Grover tuners... not sure if those are the stock for it.

I have. The RG7, RG8, S7 Iron Labels. I like all but I love the S7 a lot. If I were to get that, I'd change the PAF7 bridge though. Not my taste.

i'd probably go with the iron label sir27fd. ok naman yung paf7 i think since im in to djent and not to much gain.more on mids lang and presence plus tightness that could be emulated with a good preamp chain.though the damien elite 8 is still a steal since was offered a good deal on itwith the price at par with the schecter 8

nag set ng meetup ng gabi para sa ibby 7s na binebenta ko. Nagconfirm pa last night na tuloy ang deal. kanina nag reply ng nasa makati na daw siya ng around 6:30pm. Naghintay ako sa trinoma till 9pm. Tinawagan ko, out of coverage area. <_<

Late Christmas present for myself, just got it over 3 weeks ago: The Sterling by Music Man JP70 in Transparent Green Burst finish. Pictures include my 1 year old SbMM JP60 in Metallic Black finish.
Sir demo naman ng pickups pag nakabit na at review na din...balak ko din sana itry yan...o ung SD pegasus
Apart from JP's tone on most of the "Dream Theater" album (where he plays a JP13 made of basswood with a maple top and mahogany tone blocks), this is a pretty good approximation of the Illuminators:
He's playing a basswood RGD, so you could pretty much imagine how it sounds with basswood guitars. But then again, the guy on the video is using an Axe FX II, so results may vary.

my recording client bought my guitar's stock dimarzio blaze pickups and had them installed in his GRG7221 (pictured left). my ibanez universe now has the Crunchlab/liquifire combo.

Hi sir, I was thinking 15-20k siguro depending on condition,etc. 7421 or 7261 talaga sana hinahanap ko kasi mas gusto ko talaga ng fixed bridge. :) salamat!

Ang hirap maghanap ngayon ng pickup for 7 strings. Wala mga stocks kahit Dimarzio Crunchlab 7 at Liquifire.
Gusto ko na nga din i try ung artec kaso wala na din. Baka kay Mang Max na lang ako magpacustom. Medyo di ko kasi type ung built in ng LTD M17 kaya gusto ko upgrade. baka meron kayo mairecommend and Tuners na din...

Ask ko lang kung may nakatry na ng Jackson JS32-7 or JS32-7Q sa inyo dito. Is it worth the price? or would i go with another brand?

I had a Jackson JS32-7 and it plays great for its price, what I love is the scale length nya Im planning on getting the Ibanez 2127z prestige but for now the jackson satisfies my gas for the Ibanez prestige, I'll upgrade the pick up soon but yung stock pickup nya is playable compare sa stocks nang Ibyy.

For a starter 7 string, you can't go wrong with either. Get the Jackson and save some money for pickups. Entry level pickups are ok but nothing special. Neck feel is preference and getting used to.

Both looks good and specced with EMG, like above, can't go wrong with either. Really, it boils down to which looks good to you.

I just got myself an Ibanez R7321 a few months ago. I am really loving the neck feel (I used to have a schecter). I will install a Crunch Lab and leave the neck pup as it is. :-P

Good choice of bridge pup :-D As for me I'm good with the stock quantum pups installed on mine for now :wink:
