i don't think so.. parreho lang sila ng lens specs ng d40/x.. wala rin kasi AF sa body yung d60.. pero i could also be wrong..

No they wont. They are just the same with D40 & D40x. The only new thing about the D60 is the VR lens kit, dust reduction and the full time D-lighting feature.

mas maganda talaga ang 40d kesa sa d40x, dahil hindi naman yun ang magka-"tapat" eh. ang ka-entry-level-dslr ng d40x ay canon na 400d. yun ang dapat ipa-compare. na-test ko to pareho bago ako bumili ng cam & i decided na mag d40x.

specs wise lamang 450d sa d60. at may motor pa ung canon unlike the nikon.
pero ako kumampi sa nikon dahil mas natripan ko ung color results.
at mas gusto ko ung turn right to zoom in. (sa canon turn left to zoom in eh)

im a DSLR user & my girlfriend uses an s5is. im amazed sa camera na yan. minsan talo pa yung 200mm zoom ng DSLR ko compared sa zoom capability ng S5.

sigurado akong nag gagandahang camera nakapost dito kaya ipopost ko yung sa akin. ang lumang luma kong nikon coolpix 995. yep still working and the picture quality, at least for my purpose, is good enough. pero after seeing what you guys have i think it's about time i upgrade to at least a 7mp point and shoot. nainggit ako bigla :-)

the brand really doesnt matter if you first master and love the craft...well, im not a master...hahahahahahahah but to my experience youll love photography more by starting off using a film camera... I have used Nikon and Canon professionally but still longing for my Olympus OM1 35mm film that i have used during my college days.
As of for the Brand...sa professional digital imaging.. the brand matters really on the Company's Standards..or talaga lang na prefer mo yung ganung brand... or kung may lenses ka na before na nainvest mo with the same brand..you can use it...as for NIkon...sa canon pwede ata as long as you have converters...
I used NIkon d300 sa work..
but i have Canon 50d and 450d personally..

wala eh.. hehe nanghihinayang ako kung GF1 ang kukunin ko at baka mabilis magdidiffrentiate ang presyo nun so mababa ang resale value.. atleast itong D90 eh hindi magiging mabilis ang pagbaba ng resale value kahit na lumabas pa ang replacement nito this coming august..

First, you have to figure out what's the camera for? Just for a hobby ba? Wana go semi-pro or pro? Once you figure that out, maraming cameras available. Para rin you won't be wasting money on gear that won't fit your needs. Or if you can afford high-end pro DSLRs for your hobby, go! Sarap. :-)

yep in a way I have no love lost for Canon since Canon ang una kong camera (Canon EOS 1000f Film SLR) at maganda ang 500D in its own way.. pero try mo rin pre since naka Canon ka na why not try Nikon? tapos decide ka once you start to stray away from entry-level and to the semi serious Midrange bracket.. for sure malalaman mo na ang camera that fits you. :-D
pero if you decide na mag 500D post mo kaagad dito ang reviews at pictures mo oks? hehehe

Hehehe, yeah. Parang gusto ko talagang maging loyal sa Canon. Kaya lang naaakit talaga ako sa Nikon. Kahit sa class namin siguro mga 55% Canon users tapos mga 35% Nikon tapos 10% iba-iba. Sabagay, wala namang mawawala if I try Nikon dahil halos parehas lang talaga silang 2 eh. Mas mahal lang yung Canon. And just to clear things up a little about dun lens compatibility issue ng D5000 compatible naman pala sya with most popular lenses (eh, ano-ano ba yung mga popular lenses ng Nikon?).

guys sorry, wala ako makita FAQ thread, when buying 2nd hand dslr, pag super taas na ng actuations, 8k+++ ano ibig sabihin nun? un ba ung number of shots taken? plus, ano effect nun sa unit itself, sorry kung natanong na,, thanks in advance for the reply :)

sa 8k plus actuations eh oks pa para sakin, hindi pa super taas yun.. lalo na kung 100k naman ang shutter limit ng bibilhin mo, unlike sa mga nasa 50k shutter limit lang.
and yes ang actuation number eh yung number ng kung ilang beses ng pumalo ang shutter ng camera so kung ilang pictures na ang nakunan ng camera yun din ang current actuation, mababa pa ang 8k bro.. mataas na yan kung nasa 12-16k na.

yung 8k mababa lang yun. actually, basta below 20k mababa pa yun. may kakilala ako 75k na ang actuations eh, tapos yung camera nya 50k lang ang shutter life.

500D bro, di ka masisisi. Pero depende din sa taste mo eh. Sabi nila if you want to shoot family, friends, gatherings, landscapes, etc. get the D5000. If you want to get the same pics with a more professional approach, get the 500D. I'd suggest you get the latter, konti lang naman difference nila sa price eh.
But then again, why not get a mid-gange model like a 40D or 50D? I'm selling my 1000D + 55-250mm lens right now because I want to get a 50D, hahaha!!!

di naman.. mas mataas lang ang chances na mag-stuck or mag fail na ang shutter mo after the supposedly-"shutter lifespan"..
kahit na bumili ka ng 2nd hand na DSLR na nasa 15k na ang actuations eh di mo maaabot yung shutter limit nun unless araw araw kang mag burst shot or action photography.. yung tipong parang machinegun yung shutter mo. :-D
pero mas maganda wag mo na isipin yung actuation limit.. shoot lang ng shoot!

yep.. for sure mid this year may successor na ang D90 kaya maluluma na.. haay, swerte nalang kung matulad sya sa D40 na tumagal ng almost 3 years bago napalitan (wala naman kwenta yung pumalit)..

sulit ba talaga ang 1.8D 50mm? kasi im trying to see if its better than 18-135/200mm lens, kasi balak kong bumili na lang. Im more into portrait shots, pero syempre, medyo limited lang ang use ng prime, pero +1k naman when it comes to low light situations or bokeh shots. di pa ako makapagdecide pero based on your personal experiences?

Sadly my new toy, GH1 is up for repair possibly will be sent abroad because of the lugs strap defect on a manufacturing run, after
its success in Japan, said unit was off-source to China and that was where the dilemma started. Now, the web is teeming with
complaints from user buyers of this problem especially at dpreview.com. My unit is now with Panasonic Philippines in Taytay, Rizal.
Anyway, I hope this serves as a caution to those going to the US and buying the unit, they are now offering it at a lower prize possibly
to dispose defective units.

at Nikon FM10 though hindi ko na masyadong nagagamit unlike nung student pa ako..
pwede bang bilhan ko ng Nikon dslr body tapos ang gagamitin ko paring lens ay yung lens ng FM10 ko?
a friend told me possible daw, and now i'm eyeing on a D70 or D70s na dslr body, 2ndhand muna.
tapos reverse ring daw para sa macro shots, mahilig rin kasi ako ng macro.

hmmmm. Leading ang Nikon ah. Akala ko kasi mas marami ang gumagamit ng Canon.
I also use 2 Nikon D80 and one D40.
