oo yung friend ko nung january lang nagstart... yung binili niyang jollibbe na stocks 205 php now 250 na yata.. pero careful siya paunti unti lang bili.. sabin niya tropa niya nakachamba ng stocks ng double dragon nung pumutok..yung back pay niya sa work sa dubai..nilagay niya lahat sa stocks na yun..eh pumutok.. sobrang naging milyon daw pera niya at nagsibilihan ng coupe..haha (of course chambahan talaga) ...
nakikita ko kasi dito is 2 options..
1. Buy safe blue chip stocks and just leave it there for 10-20 years...(beats inflation, better than in banks)
2. Play the game..study the charts, and whatever..and tutok ka..buy low sell high style...(which will require a bit of interest and passion)

Narinig ko din yang double dragon, dont know what it means.

Kailangan mo ng taong mageexplain sayo how stocks works. Unfortunately, dko pa masyado alam.
Think of it this way, yung dinedeposit mo sa banko, ilang taon lilipas, halos walang tinubo, lugi kapa sa inflation rate.

ex: I have 30,000 how do I start blah blah blah...follow nyo lang threads kasi madaming helpful comments para mamulat ka sa systema..
mga terms andudun din...bear market, bull market etc..when to buy..Ghost months..kagabi ko lang yan binasa..

pwede naman 5,000
may nabasa ako sa CItisec yata.. may levels..
pag 5000 parang begginer level learn the ropes..may 25k up...and 1million up na investors..
of course mas lucrative at ramdam mo yung gains pag high roller ka.. kasi say, 5000 invest mo tapos nag gain ng 18-20 percent..halos 1000php...di ramdam..pero not bad di ba?
guys pag nakapasok kayo at nakakuha ng trading platform account please share nyo how you did it...

good luck! share pa kayo ng research ninyo..unti unti natin pasukin to...

yup 10 -20 years..
may posts about Philippine stocks, like jolibbe, DMCI, DD, na kapag nag pasok ka ng 100,000 php nung early 2000's Millions na yung worth ng stock mo..
yung mga nakatutok kasi yun yung nag play..at talagang nakaabang sa "buy low, sell high" profit system..
kung di ka naman ganun ka absorbed sa ganung set up, pwede ka naman magpasok lang sa blue chip stocks (ayala, jollibbee etc.) and just let it grow for 10-20 years... which beats inflation better than bank products..

maganda dalawa:
bili ka ng stocks for long term at mag save ka din para sa daily trading business. may kakilala akong ganito. kaso malaki investment nya. some millions for the long term stocks tapos may tinitignan sya daily sa col fin para buy and sell. yun na lang ginagawa nya ngayon.
ang Sun Life Financial din pala iniinvest sa stocks yung money mo. remember what said in that SSS thread? ito ginagawa nila. yung pinsan ko advisor, lagi ako inaalok. sabi ko invest ko muna sa raket ko then ihahabol ko na lang pag steady na yung cash flow.

BPI Trade ..0 starting..just open a trading account kung may BPI account ka na..
then the one Im checking out is metro securities..since may metrobank account at online banking na ako with them..
actually these guys also have 5 day trial periods..for you to get the feel of the ups and downs ng market..parang simulation ata..
I have saved good inforgraphics and data..di ko lang pa mapost sa photopcuket to upload here..
but its usually all posted over at the FB Investing Groups..

If meron sainyong gusto pumasok sa stock trading may mga maisusuggest akong tutorial and effective strategies. :-D

Ang haba ng names..parang Pinoy Stock Investors something yata..and theres another one..a quick search would do, They just popped and I just joined whatever.. hehe.. let me check later when i get home.. the newbie posts are pretty the same ..thats where I get my leads (research topics) from newbie post comments..
like this one..
Peso Cost Averaging
^ mukhang this is the one most of us will use as we start...this isnt geared towards the "trader" minute per minute technical chart analysis mumbo jumbo..
its just buying stock from blue chip stable companies..every month or so...regardless of the price, and market status..continuously for 5-10-20 years... (experts help me out kung tama pagkakaintindi ko) so its just a habit, set aside a portion of your salary to invest and buy stock..

Yes paps eto yung nilaro sa wolf of wall street. Sa "penny stocks" or also called as "basura stocks" ang price niya per share is usually centavos around (starting 0.1000 pesos per share) so mas marami kang mabibiling volume ng shares.

Clear explanation! Interesting..info about penny stocks..

For example, semento dahil maraming mamamatay at kailangang ilibing. (joke intended)

I think kapag magiging full trader ka at tambay ng trading platform..mas mabilis ang profit sa penny..pero kung long term investor ka just alot a little of each month to blue chip stocks and let the years pass..

Lowest na alam ko is via Philstocks which you can buy/sell stocks for as low as 5k, pero based on experience maliit masyado ang 5k kasi you also need to consider yung fees/tax na babayaran mo when buying shares.

Yes tama wag magpapahype.

eto yung simplest system as long term investment..
Peso Cost Averaging...it means na magallot ka lang ng portion ng sahod everymonth to buy shares.. gawin lang habit..bad market or good market.. just buy (kasi average ay mas lamang kung iprproject).. then let it ride the pagappreciate ng price etc.
eto yung iniisip kong initial goal and purpose para may retirementfund..

I think Bo's advice on this piece (http://www.asensofilipino.com/uploads/1/4/6/5/14653624/my_maid_invests_in_the_stock_market.pdf) is effective, long-term-wise. Kahit mabagal ang growth unlike risky stocks, makakalikom ka naman in a few decades.
But above everything else, one should have an optimistic and tactician mindset. Tamang diskarte rin ang magdadala talaga.

Hi guys, i just opened my account last month sa col financial. So far so good. Im into long term investment. You put specific fixed amount sa blue chip stocks in a monthly basis. This is the safest way to grow your money. If my extra money ka pa then go into trading. Cheers.

wala naman masyado. more on position trader ako e kesa day trader. pag petix yun maghapon akong nakabantay at nakabukas charts ko realtime pati mga bidding.
totoo yung sinasabi nilang around 80% ng nagtetrade sa stocks e nalulugi. siguro pag mahina loob mag invest na lang for long term sa mga blue chips sa loob ng PSEi para ma-lessen ang risk. buy lang ng buy tapos after 20-30 years benta mo na.
so far pinaka malaki kong profit is 120% 2 weeks ako nag abangis sa Double Dragon Properties (DD) i think last month ata yun nung napetix ako. so far pinaka malaki kong loss mga -14% sa First Gen (FGEN) ata yun.

Anytime a government regulates, it tends to produce unintended, if not the opposite effect. Who else is thinking that the current DENR crackdown will only empower the big firms? After all, they have the means to comply with whatever standard the government names in order to keep them in check. The small-scale miners, those who are barely scrapping by, together with the employees of the big firms about to be fired as a result of the smaller, more compliant operations, are the ones who will be sorely affected.
Tanggal ang mga mahinang kalaban. Buhay pa rin sina LC, PX, etc in the long-run. I'm betting the stock prices are at its cheapest due to the panic selloff, but demand for minerals will still stay.

T-bill yields rise at auction
MANILA - Treasury bill yields rose at Monday's auction following rising bets that the Fed will raise rates as early as next month after Friday's better-than-expected jobs data.
Treasury bill yields inched up across all tenors at the auction, tracking the rise in US Treasuries. But prevailing liquidity in the market tempered their gains.
National Treasurer Roberto Tan has given assurances the market remains liquid, but is it enough to keep yields from rising further? "We're glad [about] the results. I think the market is still very liquid and that's based on secondary rates, still below across all tenors. Overall the bids were very much in line with the sentiment where there is a better anticipation that yields will continue to be quite stable at least during the next few months," Tan said.

PHL shares tumble as foreign investors flee
Share prices on the Philippine Stock Exchange tumbled for the third successive trading day on Wednesday, as foreign investors continued to dispose their stock positions in light of market-depressing developments on the domestic front and overseas.
"Mainly net foreign outflows," Victor F. Felix, equity analyst at AB Capital Securities Inc., said in a phone interview. "We saw P2 billion in net foreign selling today. We've seen accelerated outflows." PSE data showed foreign selling totaled P7.174 billion on Wednesday alone, while foreign buying amounted to P4.494 billion.
The benchmark PSEi lost 100.08 points or 1.30 percent at 7,619.10. The broader All Shares fell 51.49 points or 1.12 percent to 4,542.35.
Felix noted two major factors are responsible for the market volatility: expectations of an interest rate increase in the US and the growing uncertainty hanging over the Philippine sociopolitical landscape. "Some investors expect a rate hike in December."

still learning on how i could start this. may kaofis ako dati meron sya sa col financial. ok naman daw.
COL is really good for starters and beyond. While some of my peers who are really into trading are recommending Maybank's platform.
I was given a tip a few weeks ago, Pagibig savings program is a good short to long term investment and it also helps an institution that most of us will use or currently using. Hinde nga lang sya well advertised or well marketed since it's government and no broker will make money out of it. Some financial advantages/features are: Guaranteed by the government, 5 year or 10 year maturity with interest, annual dividends, tax free proceeds, and i think a part of the investment will be shouldered by the employer., and very easy to avail.

pero yep 4%'s not bad. not great either. but it seems pretty stable. so masubukan nga hehe.

Bitcoin Surges Above $900 on Geopolitical Risks, Fed Tightening
Bitcoin headed for its biggest weekly jump since June as rising geopolitical risks boosted demand for alternative assets.
The cryptocurrency surged 15 percent this week to $900.40 as of 2:38 p.m. in Hong Kong, taking its gain this year to 107 percent, data compiled by Bloomberg show. The last time it was at such levels was in January 2014, when bitcoin was tumbling from its record price of $1,137 following the implosion of the MtGox exchange and tightening Chinese controls.

Gov't to sell $596M retail treasury bonds
MANILA - The Philippines plans to sell at least 30 billion pesos ($596 million) worth of three-year retail treasury bonds to provide small investors with safe investment options, the Bureau of Treasury said on Thursday.
It would be the second retail bond issue under President Rodrigo Duterte's nine-month-old government, which in September 2016 raised as much as 100 billion pesos from such offering.
"We want more Filipinos to get into the habit of investing, and become more financially aware of how their money could work harder for them," National Treasurer Rosalia de Leon said.
Public offering runs from March 28 to April 6, with investors given an option to earn from a minimum investment of 5,000 pesos.

Traders have lost billions betting against Tesla
2017 has been a brutal year for traders betting against Tesla.
The stock has soared 46% so far this year, and has caused billions of dollars of losses for those who have bet against it.
The damage inflicted on short sellers has been especially pleasing to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who earlier this month tweeted, "Stormy weather in Shortville ..." on a particularly bad day for Tesla shorts.
The short trade in Tesla was supposed to be a slam dunk.
The company delivered 76,230 vehicles in 2016, well below the 80,000 to 90,000 that Wall Street was expecting.
"Our Q4 delivery count should be viewed as slightly conservative, as we only count a car as delivered if it is transferred to the customer and all paperwork is correct," the company said in a statement at the time of the release in an effort to deflect criticism surrounding the shortfall.
Additionally, Tesla was burning through cash at an alarming rate.

yung mahilig mag invest sa FOREX TRADING. foreign exchange trading.
SEC ADVISORY
20 October 2016
FOREIGN EXCHANGE TRADING
The advisory is prompted by the complaints of retail investors who lost their moneys to forex trading.
The public is advised that TRADING OF COMMODITIES FUTURES CONTRACTS IN THE PHILIPPINES (including Foreign Exchange Trading as consistently held by the Commission) and the pertinent RULES ARE STILL SUSPENDED pursuant to Paragraph 4 of Rule II of the Amended Rules and Regulations implementing the Securities Regulation Code.
Based on the reports, huge amount of money has been invested (usually in US dollars) in forex trading corporations where investors opened margin accounts to enable them to trade in foreign currency. The so-called “experts” of the forex trading corporations execute foreign trade positions in behalf of the investors on the representation that investors shall gain profit as in the stock market.
It has to be reiterated that under Section 11 of the Securities Regulation Code “no person shall offer, sell or enter into commodity futures contract except in accordance with rules and regulations and orders of the Commission may prescribe in the public interest”.
The investors should also take the cue from the ruling laid down in Onapal v. Court of Appeals (G.R. No. 90707, February 3, 1993) where the Supreme Court stated in this wise: “xxx The payments made under said contract were payments of difference in prices arising out of the rise or fall in the market price above or below the contract price thus making it purely gambling and declared null and void by law.”
The public is encouraged to report to the Commission entities operating Foreign Exchange Trading and those acting as agents of these operators.

China's About to Sell Dollar Bonds in Middle of a Trade War
A year after its first sovereign sale of dollar bonds in well over a decade, China’s about to tap that well again. This time around, the reception isn’t likely to be quite as enthusiastic.
The $3 billion issuance of five-year, 10-year and 30-year securities, due Thursday, follows a jump in yields on benchmark Treasuries, and a slump in the yuan against the dollar thanks in part to China’s deepening trade-war with the U.S. While the Ministry of Finance hasn’t identified a purpose for the sale, underwriters had long expected a follow-up to last year’s $2 billion deal to help build out a benchmark yield curve for Chinese offshore borrowers.

Investors Flee China Stocks as Foreigners Dump $1.4 Billion
Chinese stocks’ worst October start in a decade is scaring off the last remaining bulls.
Foreigners dumped 9.7 billion yuan ($1.4 billion) of yuan-denominated shares through exchange links with Hong Kong on Monday, just short of a record hit eight months ago, as mainland markets reopened after a week-long break. Ping An Insurance (Group) Co., Kweichow Moutai Co. and Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co. -- old favorites that jumped at least 97 percent last year -- were the most sold by overseas traders Monday.
The FTSE China A50 Index of China’s biggest companies sank almost 5 percent for its biggest selloff since January 2016, while the yuan slumped as much as 0.9 percent to 6.9315 per dollar, further damping demand for the nation’s assets.

DISCLAIMER, I am not affiliated. This is not a pyramid scheme. I am not promoting or marketing anything.
Since the purpose of these thread is about investment, I want to share what I have been doing. And I also want to learn from you guys. So let's discuss. Ask me anything about what I am about to tell you
Been using this website for almost 8 months
https://fundko.com
It is a fintech company that offers a peer to peer lending platform. Since this is an investment thread, I will only talk about lending. Besides, I have used this site only for lending.
Basically borrowers will ask for money. These borrowers can be individuals (unsecured) Or corporations (secured)
There will be a list of dozens of borrowers in the dashboard when you login as lender.
You deposited 10,000 to fundko to start your investment. It will be added to your digital wallet
So imagine there are 10 borrowers asking for 10,000php for 12 months at 2% each Now as a lender, you are only allowed to lend 10% of the borrowers loan amount max. 1,000 is the minimum regardless of the loan amount. In this case, 1,000 to each borrower.
So all through out the loan period, fundko will collect payments from borrowers and return your investment to your digital wallet.
1,000 / 12 months = 83.33 1,000 at 2% for each borrower is 20 Your gross income is 103.33php/month
If there are 10 borrowers, your gross income is 1033.33/month
Your gross income is 12,400 for the cycle. Giving you a net income of 2,400php in 12 months
Not bad right? Of course, the more you invest, the more you earn. Try it. I swear to you guys this is a legit company. Let's say when I started, 3 months ng sahod ko ung kinita ko. Pero high risk ako. Up to you kung ano trip niyo.
Now ito ang payo ko sa inyo.
Stay away from unsecured loans or individuals. Normally these individuals will be asking for loan for housing renovations, tuition fee, medical expense, financial assistance and business capital. In my account, there are already 33% of people I gave money to are not paying. If you email fundko, they will just give you robotic answers.
Ang maganda dito ung mga secured loans. Mga corporations na mangungutang ng sobrang laki. Pinaka malaki na nakita ko was 20,000,000. I think they were a supplier of Watsons. They needed financial assistance to manufacture their products for Watsons.
Ganon kabilis mababalik investment
So let's do the math.
200,000 3 months at 1.5%
Your monthly income is 69666.66 Total of 209,000 Net income = 9,000
This my actual account. by the way, kung delay mag bayad ang borrower, may penalty sila at kikita ka sa penalty nila.

This my actual account. by the way, kung delay mag bayad ang borrower, may penalty sila at kikita ka sa penalty nila.
interesting. scary lang yung part ng no insurance huhuhuhuhu.

theoretically, maganda ang concept LOL the concept itself falls under microfinance and it should be regulated by BSP and registered din dapat sa SEC question is who regulates that "app"? who are the people behind that app? how do you identify kung sino yun nangungutang and how do you validate their identity? what docs do you provide when signing up? meron ba kayong signed and notarized documents pertaining to the lending process?

same questions
pero they are registered with the SEC. question ko lang is about the regulating body. per the FAQ page, they do Credit Checks of the borrowers naman. pero solid pwede gamiting avenue for money laundering hahaha

My best guess is none. Cause they arent regulated by BSP yet. But they are SEC registered
who are the people behind that app?
FundKo is a subsidiary of Guevent Investments Development Corporation (GIDC) – a company that has over 50 years of operations with a business footprint that spans across the entire Philippine archipelago.
ref: https://fundko.com
how do you identify kung sino yun nangungutang and how do you validate their identity?
They are private. Although I havent really asked fundko to tell me who is behind a certain loan number.
For every loan#, you can see their submitted docs to fundko. But they are not visible to the lender
they do this kapag mas malaki yung return sa capital than interest sa borrowed money. and yes pwedeng walang sapat na pera yung company para sa project/investment. big time companies e malalaki ang assets but that doesn't mean na cash lahat yon. :-D

large companies like these take out loans to do either of the following:
Placement in FX Trade fund a huge ass purchase order allocate funds in an account where a payment will be made against while waiting for revenue flows to meet the bank mandated Average Daily Balance to fund a huge expense so that it will not affect the audited financial statement significantly. (i.e. they take in loans para di mabawasan ang liquidity ng company)
Kahit siguro anong investment, wala talagang assurance. It all depends on how low or high the risk is. And it depends on the economy.
no, I meant insurance. insurance on the funds you are placing. not asking for assurance on the income, but rather, insurance on the initial money placed especially in cases of natural causes. (i.e. death of borrower, bankruptcy of the corporation/FundKo, etc.)
Usually, on a bank's perspective, you place a Deposit or TD, your funds are insured by the PDIC, especially in case of bankruptcy of your depository bank.

big companies gets big time loans from banks or they issue corporate bonds, hindi sila pupunta sa isang relatively unknown company na limited ang information sa google other than "reviews" since 2018 pa to get loans. So I doubt na legit companies nga yun nakakadeal nyo. with that system that they have I could actually submit fake docs and pretend I own ayala and ask for loans and walk away. as Ralph_Petrucci stated above potential money laundering scheme nga to.
but hey, it's your money, it's your call. I am just stating my 2 cents.

Philam Life Nestle Omnicom Media Group Loreal Mass Brands Avon Cosmetics Inc
on another note, out of the above companies, Si Avon lang yung feeling kong maaaring legit magapply for a loan in this channel. Avon does not have a large credit facility given their assets so most probably they would explore other options to get credit.
sila nestle and loreal however, were my client's in my previous multinational bank job. and I know for a fact that their credit lines are huge, hindi pa fully utilized and may corporate guarantee pa so I don't think there is a reason to apply through this channel. this might be a different subsidiary however, like a packaging focused subsidiary (think san Miguel-yamamura)
on another note, I do agree na mejo red flag yung walang KYC Procedures for both the Lender and Borrower. the BSP is very very stringent when it comes to KYC especially after the RCBC Fiasco.
brother pao, I do suggest to tread lightly, but I wouldn't be surprised if this entity gets a cease and desist order soon enough for lack of controls or worse, licenses to participate in the loans business. I wouldn't consider this microfinance na kasi.

Today a witnessed a meeting that sounds like an investment to create a convenience store in the name of the Lord.
Tinanong mo kay God kung ilang years ang ROI and he answered 7 years daw. Sobrang BS nalang. 20% of the sales is mandatory to go to the Church. Marami pang kaltas like tax, operating cost etc etc.
I have nothing against if you want to create a business in the name of the Lord and give mandatory donations to the church on a monthly basis. Feasible kung feasible ang negosyo. Hindi imposible. But when I looked into the faces of the investors, mapapansin mo na hindi naman ito ung mga business people.

yea, everyone starts this way. It is kind of like learning to play the guitar as a beginner. None of it makes sense at the start, but eventually you notice similar concepts.
I remember reading the whole thread of Stock Market Investing in Pinoyexchange (67 pages) with posts extending all the way from early 2000's.

The 42-year-old Lourdes Baarde of Barangay Baybay, Roxas City was nabbed Thursday in Metro Manila. Her apprehension was staged by the operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation. Baarde allegedly duped around 800 investors in investing into her company, Forex Investments, for 25 percent monthly interest.

FWD is an insurance provider. Sila pala partner ng Security Bank. VUL yun inooffer sayo. ok naman yun . I suggest you shop around, BPI, BDO, Sunlife, etc. Then compare. They offer different products based on your needs. pro tip: check mo lahat ng riders na kasama.
ang VUL ay mahal and required kang tapusin ang term or else wala kang makukuha, yun iba may certain years lang na need mo mabayaran. If you are an expert, Buy Term, Invest the Difference, if not ok naman din ang VUL with its benefits

thanks, ill take note of that. But my primary concern really is , Security Bank or the other banks might not insure ung iiinvest dito, be it just a third party/sister company. the contracts/policies here can be solely between, for example FWD and the investor only..
if i trust the bank, but i dont trust the partner... and the bank will not cover ur investment( i think.) ... so pano na? they might be sister companies lang in terms of fund managing lang. pero yung security of investor, im not sure.

Just want to teach you guys a life hack, if may insurance kayo, basahin ang terms and conditions, almost all if not all hindi covered pag namatay ka sa sakit dahil may epidemya so if and when mamatay ka walang makukuha ang family nyo. so bigyan nyo na sila ng instruction na assuming magkasakit kayo at 50-50 na palabasin na accident ang pagkaamatay (nagpumilit mag cr nadulas sa banyo, nabagsakan ng hollowblock sa ulo, etc) or else sayang ang benefit.

ABS-CBN drama: GSIS retreated, SSS stuck as Lopez parachuted MONEY-GO-ROUND BY VICTOR C. AGUSTIN·TUESDAY, JULY 14, 2020·3 MINUTES
The market traders of the Government Service Insurance System were apparently better than the Social Security System's when it came to reading the ABS-CBN tea leaves. According to regulatory disclosures, GSIS had 839,760 common shares of ABS-CBN in June 2018. By March this year, GSIS already had zero exposure on the Lopez network.
SSS, on the other hand, stuck with the broadcast network even as its franchise clock was ticking. The private sector's pension fund was reported holding 5,764,260 ABS-CBN shares last March, the same level that it had two years ago. Strangely, even the Lopezes themselves appeared to have hedged on their own broadcast network as the prospects of its franchise renewal grew dimmer.
According to regulatory disclosures, Metrobank "as security agent for ABS-CBN Holdings" had reduced its holdings of ABS-CBN common shares to 243.67 million by March from 264.78 million two years ago. Even ABS-CBN chairman emeritus Eugenio Lopez III apparently believed in the saying that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. 'Gabby' Lopez, as it turned out, had quietly taken out his modest nest egg in the more controversial sister company, just at the PDR/foreign ownership issue of ABS-CBN Holdings was heating up. Lopez, who holds both US and Filipino passports, had 1.34 million shares of ABS-CBN Holdings as of June 2018. By March this year, the Filipino-American had disappeared from the shareholders list, without any disclosure from ABS-CBN Holdings as to when Gabby Lopez had made the disposal. Based on other regulatory disclosures, the former ABS-CBN president and chief executive transferred his ABS-CBN Holdings shareholdings to an unknown party sometime in the third quarter of 2019.
Even as other parties were parachuting, there were a number of contrarian types who apparently genuinely believed in ABS-CBN's resilience. Take BPI Securities, for instance. The Ayala brokerage firm, either for its own account or its unnamed clients, doubled down on the country's network just as its parent, the Bank of Philippine Islands, was enlarging its loan exposure to the Lopez network. BPI Securities only had 2.75 million ABS-CBN shares in June 2018. By March of this year, the account had grown nearly twice to 5.22 million shares.
COL Financial is another who swam against the tide. The online brokerage firm had doubled its ABS-CBN stake to 13.8 million shares last March from 6.9 million two years ago, only to get exposed for swimming naked when the proverbial congressional tide went out. A possible explanation for COL's "ipit" position? Its army of day-traders apparently gave more weight on Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman's or even Ate Vi's exuberant projections than on Kris Aquino and her sphinx-like silence on her former network.

Lopezes put Sky Cable up for sale: Dennis Anthony Uy, Dennis Uy, Ayalas to square off
Aside from letting go of thousands of ABS-CBN talent and staff, the Lopezes are putting on the block their cable television subsidiary as the former media giant downsizes following the loss of its franchise.
The Lopez family will reportedly hold a closed bidding for the sale of Sky Cable, including its broadband and direct-to-home satellite businesses, in the coming days or weeks.

Yari si COL.
Day 1 ng trading ng AREIT, pumalya yung sistema nila for non-compliance.

Money-Go-Round by Victor C. Agustin · Singapore now controls Makati Med, 14 hospitals
after Metro Pacific divests The Metro Pacific Group has confirmed that Makati Medical Center and 14 other associated hospitals around the country are now controlled by a Singapore government consortium, following the release last month of the group's first-half financial results. Metro Pacific's Hong Kong-based parent, First Pacific Co., disclosed the "loss of control" in the aftermath of the P30.1-billion transaction late last year, which resulted in Metro Pacific's reducing its stake from 60.1% stake to only 20% of Metro Pacific Hospital Holdings Inc. In addition to the Makati Med, the Metro Pacific Group also held majority ownership in Asian Hospital, Cardinal Santos Medical Center, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, De Los Santos Medical Center, and Manila Doctors Hospital, as well as five primary care clinics, three cancer centers, and two healthcare colleges. First Pacific was silent as to the actual shareholdings structure of the Singapore group to which it had ceded control of its Philippine hospital empire. But earlier news reports identified the foreign buyers as the Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC, and possibly Temasek (another Singapore government holding company), with the American investment giant KKR initiating the deal in a complicated bonds-share swap transaction. Once the bonds are converted and GIC’s existing 14% stake is accounted for, the consortium will own the equivalent of 80% of the company’s shares, Metro Pacific’s chief financial officer David Nicol told a press briefing in October. But Metro Pacific will retain control of the business by virtue of voting rights attached to the preferred shares it owns, Reuters quoted Nicol as saying.

CA affirms delisting of Calata Corporation, ban on officers from listed companies
The Court of Appeals (CA) has affirmed the Philippine Stock Exchange’s (PSE) delisting of controversial agribusiness firm Calata Corporation (CAL) and the perpetual disqualification of leader Joseph Calata and other officers from joining other publicly listed companies.
In a 3-page resolution on CA-G.R. SP No. 158561, the CA Former 15th Division sustained its December 21, 2020 decision that earlier upheld the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) October 25, 2018 decision, which in turn affirmed the PSE’s November 3, 2017 decision against CAL and its officers.
The CA denied the motions for reconsideration (MRs) filed separately by CAL and Jeanette Lim Tan and William Chua, beneficial owners of 3.11 million shares worth P7.85 million.

that was a bad way to start in stock investing lol.
shortly after kasi, i started seeing losses. ginawa ko nilagyan ko ng margin lahat ng stocks ko at binenta ko agad when they hit the lowest point i considered "loss".
i lost about 4k. pero okay lang. i learned a lot and enjoyed every bit of it. i was actually gunning for long term trades pero naging habit ko magbasa ng stocks at stock news every morning before the trading starts so in a way, nag shift ako automatically to weekly trader hahaha

Money-Go-Round by Victor C. Agustin · Hotel magnate loses Boracay
land battle vs peasant settler
He may have escaped the wrath of Odette, but hotel magnate Henry Chusuey last month suffered damage much worse than what could have been inflicted by the super typhoon.
The owner of the nine-Henann Regency chain instead lost his claim to a 2.3-hectare beachfront property adjoining his flagship hotel in Boracay.
In a decision released before Christmas, the Supreme Court nullified as fraudulent the 1996 and 2003 sale of the two adjoining lots to the Henann Regency Resort & Spa.
According to court records, the Henann Group acquired the disputed property through their agent, the late pioneering hotelier in the island, Steven Tajanlangit.
The disputed 2.3-hectare land is part of a nine-hectare inheritance of an extended Boracay family, whose greater half had already been acquired by Chusuey to build his first hotel in the island paradise, the Henann Regency Resort.
According to court records, the sale of the 2.3-hectare unravelled after the other siblings later admitted having received no promised sale proceeds after executing a waiver on the sale of the disputed property, which they later admitted in court belonged to their brother, Antonio Pelayo.
On the other hand, the sister who had been dealing with Tajanlangit "asserted that what she sold to (the Henann Group) was her own land, albeit undervalued in the Deed [of Sale]," noted the ponente, Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa.
The sister, Gloria Pelayo, "claimed that this sale was subject of a (civil) suit which she filed against (the Henann Group) for the latter's failure to fully pay the agreed purchase price of [P12,000,000.00] and which they subsequently settled amicably," Caguioa said.
For its part, the Henann Group maintained "that it is entitled to reimbursement for the purchase price it paid to Gloria in the event the case would be adjudged in favor of Antonio."
The Henann Group was represented initially by Treñas & Rubias Law Offices (Treñas referring to now Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas) and later by the blue-chip Romulo Mabanta Buenaventura Sayoc & Delos Angeles.
Now in his 70s and overjoyed that his bucolic farm inheritance is now worth hundreds of million, Antonio Pelayo was represented by Dennis Manzanal, a graduate of Quiapo's finest law school, MLQU.
The case decided unanimously by the First Division, chaired by no less than Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo.

Money-Go-Round by Victor C. Agustin
Inquirer scraps for cash The Philippine Daily Inquirer has resorted to discounting collectibles and offering them to credit collectors in its desire to raise operating cash.
Proof?
The country's leading broadsheet tabloid has transferred even a minor P7.5-million receivables claim from the Philippine Airlines to a collection agency based all the way in New Jersey.
CRG Financial, which identifies itself as a "distressed debt-bankruptcy claims recovery" company, last week notified the United States
Bankruptcy Court in New York overseeing the Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection case for the Philippine flag carrier that CRG Financial
has acquired for an undisclosed discount the P7.5-million Inquirer claim against PAL.
"CRG Financial LLC offers creditors holding claims against distressed debtors an opportunity to receive liquidity for their claims and
eliminate the wait and uncertainty associated with a lengthy bankruptcy proceeding," the distressed debt investment company said on
its website. "Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases can take years to conclude and the amount of creditor recovery is uncertain."
In the New York court filing, CRG Financial identified itself as the purchaser of the Inquirer's collectible against PAL, with the Inquirer
assigning a relatively minor official, identified as assistant vice president for finance Angela Garcia, to sign the transfer and waiver documents.
Incidentally, Inquirer's majority shareholder, Marixi Rufino-Prieto, happens to be an independent director in a PAL sister company, MacroAsia Corp.
Inquirer's need for cash comes amid the broadsheet tabloid recording, according to the industry grapevine, a P250-million loss in 2020.
Money-Go-Round has no choice but to resort to the "industry grapevine" again since, despite yours truly being a minority shareholder,
the Inquirer did not send out any notice of shareholders' meeting last year and, true to its corporate governance-tradition, never sends out the audited financial statements to its minority shareholders.
The tradition sadly continues despite the assumption of former SEC Commissioner Raul Palabrica as nominal Inquirer chairman, and another lawyer, Rudyard Arbolado, as president.

Business Pasaway! PSE to suspend trading of Leisure & Resorts, 8990 holdings, Century Peak, TKC, Vantage
The Philipine Stock Exchange will suspend trading in five listed firms starting Wednesday for failing to submit their financial reports even after an extension of the deadline.
The five firms are Albee Benitez’s Leisure & Resorts World (LR), Luis Yu Jr.’s 8990 Holdings, Inc. (HOUSE), Willy Keng’s Century Peak Holdings (CPM), Ben Tiu’s TKC Metals (T), and Vantage Equities (V).
These companies have not submitted their 2021 annual and 2022 first quarter reports despite a final warning issued on May 24.
“Pursuant to the Rules and as previously announced, continued non-compliance with the structured reportorial requirements by the above-cited listed companies will merit the imposition of a trading suspension on their respective shares at 9 a.m. on June 1, 2022,” the PSE said.
The PSE had previously flagged 11 companies for their failure to submit their financial reports.

Investor alert: SEC revokes business registration of another Ponzi scheme operator
The Securities and Exchange Commission has revoked the corporate license of Intime Import and Export LLC Corp. due to unauthorized investment activities similar to a Ponzi scheme.
The SEC has received numerous emails inquiring and/or reporting about Intime Import and Export which promises a three to five percent daily return for a minimum investment of P1,000.
Ponzi scheme is an investment program that offers impossibly high returns and pays these returns to early investors out of the capital contributed by later investors.
According to the SEC, Ponzi has the characteristics of an “investment contract” which must first be registered before they may be offered and sold or distributed to the public

Bittersweet! PSE permanently shuts trading floor
After 64 years, the Philippine Stock Exchange shuttered its iconic trading floor on Friday, signaling its shift to all electronic trading starting June 27.
The bourse’s migration to flourless trading was in response to technological advances that made trading more convenient and efficient for the investing public and stockbrokers. Automation will result in faster trades, better prices and cost savings.
During the closing ceremony, PSE president and CEO Ramon Monzon said this was “a sentimental moment for everyone who found comfort and security in being at a trading floor. “
