Hindi ako nakaka shred pero medyo nag improve ang bilis ko sa simple tremolo picking (dati 80bpm on 4/4, ngayon 120bpm na after three months! ambilis no! sobrang billis nakakamangha!!!
singbilis ng scooter pag tinapat sa ducati) by following these steps (applicable to any exercise, licks, scales, riffs, arps, etc.):
1. work with metronome. Invest with a good one.
2. start really slow, mas irritating mas OK! yung tipong aantukin ka dapat
3. work your way up one notch at a time. Or 10. or 50 pag mainipin ka talaga! j/k, pick a good interval, and if you fail on that level don't be afraid to go back to the slower setting
4. make sure you can do it without mistakes on several takes before raising your speed (accuracy builds up speed!). Mas maganda kung magawa mo muna on different keys and on different positions sa fretboard
5. remember number 4!
6. and memorize number 4!
7. do this everyday! or at least at regular intervals. or at least pag motivated ka talaga mag practice.
8.
9. PROFIT!!!
Pero chops pa lang meron ka, hindi pa musician or guitarist... there is more to music than just technique, and shredding is all about technique, and chops are really important for the wow factor, but not for the 'historical' or 'for the ages' factor
Buti na lang sa bass ako nagsimula, naintindihan ko kaagad ang place ng technique at speed sa music as a whole. Oh well failed bassist here
practice na lang muna ako gitara
