Multiple MOVIES in 1 DVD!
« on: March 21, 2010, 01:21:56 PM »
anyone here knows what software they are using to do this? i have avi movies and want to burn them in one dvd and play 'em on my tv! if i have a movie with 800mb of size, a dvd can store up to 4.5gb(?), then it means i can have at least 5 movies in one dvd. help please!

note: some might ask if my dvd player has divx, yes it has. i dont want to just copy them to the dvd, i want every movie to have its title page.

they compromise the video quality, nor normally noticed since most of their intended audience wouldnt mind the graininess of the film (and also most of the consumers of these products dont own hd tvs, which makes the compromised quality more evident) thats why they can fit several movies in a disc. and they use those 8.5gb dvds usually.

i know.. like dvds in tutuban! haha! which made me think what software are they using to encode those movies in one dvd(4.7/8.5gb). i dont mind the quality, problem is, i have tons of movies and i just want to watch them on my regular tv. i get bored when i watch them on my computer and end up just surfing the net or playing nba2k10. i found out that Windows DVD maker can only create dvd movies with 90mins of playing time and that sucks!

ive been trying to google ways to do this and found two.. will try it if i have time! i just want to know if someone here knows how and tried it first hand.  :-)

hmmm i think cyberlink can do that. usually comes bundled with dvd writers. thats what i used before but eventually got me impatient with the encoding. i resorted to burning them as data dvds instead.

i havent tried that. ive tried xilisoft, it can convert 3(.avi/700mb) movies in one dvd(4.7gb). but compared to pirated dvds with lots of movies in one dual layer dvd(8.5gb), still finding a way to compress them in one dvd.

OT: kambal, pakopya naman ng movies mo! :D

sure kambal! madami ako xxx! hehehe! :-D

nainip ako sa usapan na ito...

you have to re-encode your movie files to a smaller file size
(read: DivX, Xvid, MP4 etc).

when you're done shrinking them to an acceptable size with regard to
quality, you can then burn them with nero.

MediaCoder is good pero Format Factory is better...

ayan!

teka...

correction: im not sure if format factory is better, but it is definitely much more user-friendly (daming presets) compared to mediacoder.

para ma-tancha mo how much to shrink, gawin mong gauge yung 32-in-1 mo na porno dvd...
usually, 1 gb is about 1 hour and 30 mins long (352x240).

another viable option:
NBOX from CDR-King.... nasa 800 pesos lang.
saksakan mo lang ng hard disk (kahet 500 gb yakang yaka).
at least, di mo na kailangan magburn ng maraming DVD.

this is not gonna work if the threadstarters dvd player does not support the formats youve mentioned...

@ marzi

ay oo nga ano.
my dvd player is choosy kahit na may divx, xvid, mp4 logos siya sa harap.
it claims to play those formats pero nabigo rin ako nung una.

most dvd players coming out of the market today (yung mga made in china)
do support these formats or at least claim to support these formats.
siguro, check the manual na lang muna before buying. usually, restrictive sila
sa image size (nothing over 740x480) chaka sa bit rate, chambahan ito. most of these dvd players
cost less than 2k (yung mga typical na may USB/SD card slot).

but there is still hope for you... i once burned a single video i made (encoded
as MP4) as DATA CD without the usual DVD menu and the videos were not in *.vob format
... it worked fine. my dvd player was probably manufactured in 2008 or 2009 (china).

final verdict ko, get the NBOX. if you really want to play it on a DVD player,
get the latest chipipay DVD player (orange, rainbow, ganzklar etc).

NBOX (800-ish pesos) VS DVD player (1.5k and up).
NBOX = virtually indestructible (no mechanical/moving parts, no wear and tear)
DVD = usual life span is about 2 years.

ang wear and tear lang if you go the nbox route is restricted only to your hard disk
and as we all know, a good hard disk (seagate) will last AT LEAST 5 years.

Dali lang naman eh. Tssssh. I convert mo lang dun sa supported format ng player mo.

Wala nga lang menu. Hehe.

i use, convertxtodvd. nagkasya ang 6movies sa isang dvd sakin, not bad. yes may menu sya, showing all the movies. may template din sya, kung anung gusto mong template ang gamitin. if you want to add background music/wallpaper on the menu, you can do so. :-)

tama, i dont burn movies directly to the dvd since most often than not, it will not play on my dvd player.. althought it has divx...
