Opinion noted - after all, everybody has one.
Share ko lang ang experiences ko sa Pinstripes. Iba ang "driver seat" sound nya sa "audience" sound. And ganun ang dating sakin ng Pinstripes. I was experimenting on miking my drumkit using condensers only, and the pinstripes weren't very good at cutting through. I was using a large-diaphragm Samson too. My PDP single-ply medium coated (which are cheap and underrated heads IMO) did a better job of opening up, but from the driver's seat, I had more overtones.
Also, does anyone remember how dead the floor tom in Mayrics' old house kit sounded? That was a Pinstripe.
yup I agree sa pagiba ng tunog sa "driver seat" sa "audience" , this is also true with cymbals. Men ganyan din ako mag test.. and you can see from my previous post here at the board (specially sa cymbals) na I always stress na ...
Pakinggan nyo sa malapit, malayo, small room, big room.. para malaman nyo ang totoong tunog ng bibilhin nyo...
Since "technically" you've tried some recording tweaks... How come in most DVD concerts eh madami padin naka pinstripes?? (no flames men, and don't get the wrong impression!). All I am saying here is, trust the pro (hindi ako pro men. what I mean by pro's is like metallica, linkin' park, RHCP, slipknot, etc). And besides, sa recording or Miking ng set eh hindi naman involve masyado ang heads??!?!! ang nag dadala nun eh yung mixing men. kahit PATAY ang sound ng heads eh pwede habulin sa mixer.. hmmm???!!!!?
