« Reply #325 on: September 07, 2007, 01:44:05 PM »
Mas highly-regarded ang New Beat. Ang New Beat, made to be loud yet warm. Ang XS20, hindi nagpoproject that much. New Beats also sound bigger despite being the same size. Which sound you like more is up to you.

Salamat Sir.

MEdyo tempting kasi yung price e.

New Beats dude... I own one, and even though my pair is REALLY old and dirty, I will never part ways with this baby.. I love her.

Why do you intend to buy the XS20 anyway?? Papalit mo ba sa New Beats ? Or do you need to buy hi-hats and just wondering if the XS20 sounds anywhere close to the New Beats ?

Yung New Beat hats kasi, owned na by the church.  Eto yung kasama sa Fernando set ko na nabenta noon for 15k lng with 22 in K Jazz ride and 2 schimitar crashes (16 & 18 in).

So definitely, pag may gigs sa labas, di ko ito madadala, I want to own kasi my own hats e.

Thanks

If that's the case I would suggest you try out the xs20 and see how you like the sound. As we always say you and only you can tell if you like it or not but rest assured you are getting yourself into a good pair of hats. (at a decent price too!)

tama si mod Akira, ok ang x20 kasi mura na din sya...considering na b20 alloy na ang xs20...maganda pang investment yan para sa skill mo, to have your own instrument...

for live settings, masmalaaks nga yung new beats sa xs20.  Resell value din masmataas ang new beats.  Yun din ang boto ko.

I think the question now is not what is better between the said cymbals but rather is the XS20 a good cymbal to get; since Bulog is not choosing between the two instead He is considering of purchasing His own set of hi-hats

XS20s are cast B20 bronze

i tried reading from the sabian website if the xs20 is already a casted or a sheeted cymbals but there's no clear answer...it  just says there ..."XS20 is all about value. With these bright sounding cymbals it is now possible to access the great durability and performance quality of B20 ‘cast’ bronze at unbelievably low ‘sheet’ bronze prices."

and that is continued by..."Using innovative hi-tech manufacturing methods we’ve advanced cymbal making by cutting the cost of creating this B20 bronze series without sacrificing the quality. XS20 delivers great sound, high quality and low prices for a cymbal - and a value - that simply can’t be beat."

well bulog, i suggest that you get that pair or refer it to royaltones since he's looking for xs20s. i sold my 18" xs20 crash to him recently.

i'm sure you'll enjoy the xs20 hats...

pre, musta?

about your inquiry kung pwede na ang Sabian B8 cymbals sa hardcore-metal na tugtugan...for me, it may not. sa hardcore-metal dapat loud and agressive ang cymbals, like Z customs of Zildjian. don't get me wrong, i love the B8s and B8 is i think is the best entry-level cymbal right now but in terms of your music, it may not be able to handle your demands...

sige pre, enjoy my double peds ha...

take care and God Bless!

I always thought XS20's were B20 Bronze metals manufactured using sheet technique.

i prefer AA and AAX for metal music kasi bright and explosive ung tunog nya. May kamahalan nga lng pero super panalo talaga.

gamit ko ngaun b8 pro na china...it's bright and loud naman, i like it's trashy sound...kasi nga yun ung gusto kong quality ng sound. i play metal din kasi.

AA Med Thin / Medium / Rock
AA Crash Ride
AAX Stage
AAXplosion
Neil Peart Signature Paragon
Virgil Donati Signature Saturation
Chad Smith Signature Explosion

Hand Hammered Medium / Rock
Hand Hammered Crash Ride
HHX Stage
HHX Power
HHXplosion
