Which cymbals i should start with??
« Reply #25 on: April 28, 2007, 01:15:24 AM »
Mga masters..
Naqs po d2, im new here sa board...
been a drummer for 6 yrs, i can say i am on the intermediate skill level when it comes to playing... i dont have my own drumkit, i only have a china generic double pedal i started with... im looking to flourish my sound more by getting maybe a couple of cymbals to start with.. pero medyo short pa sa budget now... could you help me determine which cymbals should i buy first? im thinking of getting a good crash cymbal but my bandmates suggest i get a china first. Im thinkin that another crash cymbal on a kit will give me more flexibility playing, but a china would get me a new sound to explore and use. could i get a lil help here?? hehehe
salamat mga masters!!

Bakit kaya China ang inuna mo? :) Pero since meron ka na nian, I'd suggest that you get a nice Ride kasi both the China and Ride may be crashable naman eh..

kasi kung may existing ka na, sayang naman kung bibili ka ulit ng isa na namang entry level set. just use your budget to buy just one very good cymbal and replace one of your old ones. at least this way, your gear improves as you improve in your playing. replace all your crappy cymbals with the best cymbals you can afford. at the same time, you are also investing for the long term and not spending your hard earned cash for instant gratification provided by entry level sets

beginner or not, you deserve the best gear. dont settle on "pwede na yan" coz as time goes by, you'll learn to apply the concept in life

OT: serious ba? too much sugar kasi  :-D ang sarap ng cake dito

kaw lang makakasagot sa tanong na yan bro hehehe

ganito na lang, i think you are basing your decision on brand and opinions alone. those are not solid criteria for buying wisely.

go out and rent rehearsal studios with sabian b8's play them for an hour, see if you like them. remember the feeling when you hit them. then look for other rehearsal studios with decent cymbals and try them out and then base your  decision on your experience. its not that hard and you will learn a lot about gear along the way

of course gagastos ka sa rental at pamasahe but that's a small price to pay considering how big an investment cymbals are
