21 frets

Pros: madaling tanggalin pickguard ng strat/tele kasi walang nakaharang na 22nd fretboard. You may like the neck pickup position as it will sound rounder.

Cons: strat & tele lang ang 21 frets, usually 22, so pag nasanay ka sa iba, mabibitin ka


22 frets

Pros: the most common setting in electric guitars, pag nag palit ng gitara di ka mabibitin. You may like the neck pickup position as it will sound rounder, same with 21 fret guitars. Matutuwa ka sa additional note if nasanay ka sa 21 fret guitars.

Cons: mejo mahirap tanggalin ang pickguard ng strat/tele kasi nakaharang yung fingerboard ng pang 22nd fret. Pag nasanay ka sa 24 fret, mabibitin ka sa 22 frets.


24 frets

Pros: May additional na 2 high notes vs 22 fret guitars. You may like the position of the neck pickup if you dont like the sound you get from 22/21 fret guitars. Its easier to to reach the 22nd fret sa 24 fret guitars vs sa 22 fret guitars due to deeper cut away.

Cons: You may not like the sound of the neck pickup if nasanay ka sa 22/21 fret guitars. Mas mahal ipa-refret due to additional fretwires needed.


PS. sana may neck pickup na may frets para sa mga 22 fret guitars.

Depende sa player kung ano preferred number of frets.

I prefer 22 & 24 frets. I have a strat (21 frets) that I want the fretboard to be extended. hehe

For the Love of God is pretty slow pero umaabot ng 24th fret... 


parang si skunky noon ang mindset ko dati. i hated my strat because it only had 22 frets and i thought may dugas yung gitara ni satch kasi 22 frets pero i swear sounded like 42 frets high   

as time went on, and i developed my playing, i found that you don't always need 24 frets - siguro depende na lang sa preference or if your soloing style includes the need for passages up to the 24th fret.

ako for past years na nasa banda ako (around 5-6 years na ang nakakaraan) hnd ko tlga nagustuhan ang 24 frets. i dont know why. siguro itinama ko lng ung ability at playing style ko sa pagpili ng gitara.

my first guitar was a 22 fret Fernandez (mustang copy) Sustainer pero sa hirap ng buhay binitawan ko na.

ngaun i have a Peavey Generation EXP 21 frets lang pero wala na ako mahiling pa (kahit may GAS attack ako sa Casino Guitars at Chery DOT ngaun hahaha)

by the way, ung influences ang pinakamaliking pinagbabasihan ng musikero sa pagpili ng instrumento right? kaya kung influence mo ay si Steve Vai malamang tlga mg 24 frets ka.

A PRS Custom 24 imho is not a "shred" guitar sir. Hehe. Just my two cents though.. if your point is that 24 fret guitars are "shred guitars" hehe. IMHO.

I think it is player's preference.

For me, I go for 24 frets for the following reasons :

1. I do like bending on the higher frets, lalo na kung yung kanta is nasa key of D Major or E Major. Imagine those Pattern 1 Pentatonic bends on the higher frets.

2. Minsan, hinahanap ng left pinky ko yung extra high note. Bitin ako sa 22 frets.

i love the squeal my guitar makes on the 24th fret 

i like bending a lot, esp on the upper registers. i also like 24fret guitars because of the softer string tension... pang TAPPING!!!

24 frets! Due to some lines that i do that require it... And parang mas madali for me mag play if 24 vs 22 kahit di ko gamitin yung added frets. Fretboard length maybe? (25.5" and up)
