ever heard of "everlong" by foo fighters? they kinda sound alike.

Maybe the key it was written in and the guitar tone.  Other than that, I don't think much so.

ive seen dem twice palang.... one is sa school namin mga 2005 ata un, and sometime last year wen they playd sa tower records sa atc....

masgumaling ung pagtugtog nila in my opinion.... and theyv always ad great energy when they perform....

ewan ko lang kung yumabang nga sila or hindi......

i hav the new cd and ok nmn.... not all the songs are good since its kinda repetitive but some are nice like boston drama  :-D

thats just me tho....

bow.. hehehe.. :-D :-D :-D

ganun talaga lahat ng bagay umuulit at inuulit..

kanya kanyang diskarte kung papaano mo papalitawing genuine yung tunog..

yeah!!!

i dont think there's such thing as a "rockstar" here in pinas or any 3rd world country. its a fantasy a lot of mainstream bands fantasize about...

i like emo... i liked emo before i even knew it was emo.

i havent heard of typecast...  my cousins talk about the band. im not interested to check them out.

reg rubio from greyhoundz was asked at myx live on how to avoid comparison from other bands and thier music and he humbly said "lahat nang nota dito sa mundo ay napindot na..." or sumthing like that. this statement alone would tell us na hindi sinasadya na may katunog ang kanta mo sa iabang kanta. i mean come on, how many notes are there?12? so writing songs "accidentally" sounding  more like other songs you have heard of before is almost inevitable! i write songs myself and i must admit that typecast writes very good lyrics. i just do not like the emo trend.

para sa mga "emo" kids dito: wouldn't it be more of an act of emotion if you guys didn't spend so much time buying blue hair dye and going out to get tight clothes? it seems so petty. stop me if I'm being offensive. you wanna be an individual, right? you look like you're wearing a uniform. you look like a scene kid. that's not emotion. that's fashion.

Kids will be kids. they'll grow up and be embarrassed about their affectations soon enough, hahahaha.

As for Typecast - on music alone, I like some of their stuff.

pinarinig ko din sila sa friend ko na sound engineer sa US.. same comments din ang sinabi.. he said "nothing special. i could hear 5-7 bands that has this kind of sound here in the US."

oh well.. that's typecast for you. not that i hate them. i just wish, mag karon din sila ng sarili nilang sound just like Urbandub.  :-(

emo sila. sinabi nila mismo yun sa interview. mabbasa mo din sa website nila yun na they claim to be an emo band since emo din "daw" influence nila. at sa pag kka alam ko, for some reason.. naging kakambal na ng emo music yun emo "fashion"// though i must admit, ginaya lang ng mga western kids yun sa fashion ng japan.. nagka taon siguro na nagustuhan nila yun combination ng fashion at music.. kaya ayun ang bilis kumalat.

ive heard every album. but i dont consider them emo. 1st album was pop punk. 2nd album and 3rd album, post hardcore.

one time nakainom ko si stib dito sa davao. tanong ko sa kanya, "tol lam mo yung saosin?". sabi nya "oo na oo na. sheesh". hows that for defense?

hes right. they actually sound like 146246 other bands in the states. sumikat lang sila kasi they are "pinoys who make foreign sounding music" that caters to "emo" kids.

by the way, i quote "emo kids" because i dont think there are any. you cannot be a genre.

then you should lecture them about what's the "real" classification of emo if you see the guys sa gigs nila.. madali lang naman makita yung mga yun in-demand kase eh  :-D

i know what you are talking about the real "emo" and i had enough of that [gooey brown stuff]. why dont you elitists call it "screamo"?? cos that sounds better, and less confusion.

neither do i. sinasabi ko lang na emo sila kase yun ang sabi nila. ganon lang. wala ako pakialam sa genre nila, kung ano sabihin nilang genre sa music nila - i will leave it as it is. cos sa kanila yun, sila gumagawa ng music nila hindi tayo so sila din ang may right para tawagin kung anong genre nila IMO. its like naming your painting xxx and then someone goes out and says "thats not the name of your work - it should be zzzz!"

one time nakainom ko si stib dito sa davao. tanong ko sa kanya, "tol lam mo yung saosin?". sabi nya "oo na oo na. sheesh". hows that for defense?

ehem.. that goes out to those kids na dini defend na hindi daw nila ginaya yun.

hmm.. i dunno what to say and dont want to have a debate over labelling. but come to think of it.. what about the word "punk"? its a genre and the same time its an identity.
