Making a Home Studio (Need Help)
« on: April 05, 2013, 03:27:08 PM »
Hi, I'm Mark and we're planning make a studio and as for now, for jamming purposes only.
we have a budget of 20k-25k for the Mic, Mixer and Speakers. Don't have enough knowledge on how to do a good Live Sounding Vocal Setup.  :-(

please elaborate everything:
-Mixer
-Mic
-Speakers (Powered or Passive)

to be used by our female vocalist.

Brandnew or 2nd hand items will do.
Please enlighten me with this.

Thank you guys in advance!

Hi sir!

LANEY AH200 + 2 MICs  + GUITAR + Keyboard + khon + acoustic guitar

Acoustic setup lang kasi kami and may built in effects na rin yung amp ko:D although gusto ko talaga magkaroon ng portable PA system tulad ng fender Passport or yung yamaha na parang ganun kaso mahal e! hehehehe :D

====================================================
eto rin sir baka iconsider mo sa studio mo:)

micstand(875 samson na micstand sa audiophile) sulit na rin yan sir kesa yung sa mga lazer na 1k +

From what I remember being sold around here in the forums:

Behringer active speakers: 15k
Shure SM58 - 3k
Phonic or Peavey mixer - up to 5k
3 cables (2 for mixer to speakers and 1 for mic to mixer) - 500 each = 1.5k

Total of 24.5k.

Just do a scan in the Pro Audio classifieds :)

We need to consider the size of the rehearsal studio and the style of music your band plays. What are the dimensions of the room, length x width x height? I understand that your budget is P20k-25k.

will ask my band mate about the dimension of his house. but she said that, bungalow style yung spare house nila kaya dun kami magtatayo ng studio. that's what I know for now.

bout the music we play naman, we're into Acid Jazz, Upbeat Jazz na maypagka Pop/RnB kind of thing don't know exactly the genre we are playing but sure it's not heavy and loud music stuff.

And take note mga braders, this is only for jamming purposes. So we're not that knowledgeable in soundproofing or whats the acoustic treatment of our studio place. medyo limited pa budget for now, kaya as much as possible ma-maximize namin yung 25k for a good quality vocal sound.

Ah, I saw the site na. but mejo pricey to so I'll stick to my initial plan na Mic,Mixer and active speakers for the vox. Thanks sa nice suggestion though :)

Don't worry if these are not precise, we can refine later if necessary.

How many microphones will you need?

As for now, we only need 1 mic.
But of course later on we will be also needing 2 more for the back vocals.

BUT, Let's just focus on 1mic setup only since the budget is limited. :)

one (1) Samson D412 + one (1) Peavey PV6 mixer + one (1) Samson Q7 mic + one (1) Samson TM25 mic cable = around PhP 22k

Setting 95 decibels as the loudness level for Pop/Jazz music genre, this system is capable of reaching 10 meters away on axis and estimated coverage of 78 square meters outdoors.

so, all will be from Audiophile right?
I think this is all we need for now.
This one really helps! Thanks for the information sir Tarkuz :)

Will update the thread once we've already bought the equipments.
Thank you so much guys!

Ok yung setup na yan:-) yun nga lang sir yung pv6 e walang built in fx. Ibig sabihin dry na dry yung vocal sound na makukuha mo dun:-) kung ok sa yo na walang reverb yung vox niyo ok lang:-) pero kung kailangan mo ng reverb sa vocals mgtanung ka dun ng ibang mixer na may guilt in fx:-) also the samson q7 is really good! :-) bang for a buck yun sir! :-) yun ang gamit ko e since i cant afford a shure mic yet:-) hehe
