sa opinion ko ang pinaka-importante sa mga nakalista sa taas is versatility & mastery of your kit.

versatility tops speed any time of day. and of course, dapat master na master mo na yung kit para kahit nakapikit alam mo na kung saan ang direction ng palo mo... less time spent thinking about which drum/s to hit next, more time feeling the music. hehehe

Para sakin..

TIME is the most important. Keeping solid time with your subdivisions is a must.

Versatility comes second. Learning how to play a lot of different styles.

syempre the looks ang pinakaimportant. alam naman nating lahat na gwapo tlga ang mga drummers e. hahaha joke lang... seriously, time and groove for me... next na dun yung flashy fills and stick tricks and whatever seems unnecessary...  :-D

versatility...being able to play different genres and adjusting to different styles is a huge plus. also speed/timing is important para ma-dictate ung pace ng song and hindi kayo maghahabolan ng bandmates nyo.  :-D

Primarily, kailangan voice of your playing, kasi musical instrument ang drumset, hindi exercise machine.
May sinasabayan na tugtog yan.

At yan ang quality na nahihirapan akong makamit.

Of course versatility. You wont improve listening to 1 type of music. Dapat sa lahat ng genre, magaling ka.
Four-way independence is also very very important. Dapat ang pinakagoal ng isang drummer is to play virtually any kind of beat.

TIMEKEEPING, DYNAMICS, PROFESSIONALISM, & ETHICS

You can't be versatile without these. Being versatile can mean a lot of things on and off stage. Anyone know the guy named RINGO STARR? I believe he's not versatile enough to play jazz, latin, heavy metal, etc but he made MILLIONS of dollars drumming for The Beatles. :) Anymore case study people?

1. time(pocket) - sbe nga ni ZORO if your not playing time your not playing music!
2. feel/musicality - tasteful playing(ex. inde after 2 or 4 bars nag cacrash, just keep it simple but tasteful)
3. technical skills(note writing/reading, sight reading) - i think these separate man from boys. If you want to received phone calls and do session this is a must though may iba na nkkpag session pro widow lng but still those people who immerse themselves to technical stuff i think will get the BIG gigs like Vinnie, J.R. robinson, Alba, Regalado's. :-)

A person who doesn't know Ringo Starr is a newbie, not just in drumming but in music as well! :-P
