Panahon na naman!

Sino ang payag dito, at sino ang gusto tumulong?!

Iniisip ko yung theme ng EB ngayon, yung mga contemporary artists ang nasa forefront, yung mga may banda. Halimbawa:

Singing while playing
- Ria (Paramita)/Jazz (Itchyworms)

Improvisation and chops
- Paolo (Salindiwa/Queso)/Zach (Imago)

Double bass basics and techniques
- Macoy (Sin)

Sight reading basics
- Vinci (session drummer)

Sana lang available sila on the same day.

Pero siyempre unahin muna yung paghanap ng venue!

San ba ok gawin to? Penguin, Freedom Bar o Purple Haze uli?

ituloy na ito. organize na. suhestiyon lang po, June 12 na lang ulit para holiday tulad ng dati at para madaming oras para maihanda.

siguro dahil dumadami na members and lurkers dito kailangan na ng medyo malaking venue.

Gep tutal nasimulan mo na, ikaw na mag-head ng committee of organizers.

Hey there, friends! I was about to open up about a brand new Grand EB, pero naunahan ako ni pareng Gep hehe! Anyway...

Benjie "Bagets" Mendez and I have been talking about organizing a drumming event. He has this bright idea of conducting a drum-sharing event that would focus on musicality and being an effective and musical drummer. In fact, Bagets already has a few drummers in mind, those who he thinks would become effective clinicians for this theme.

I am quite aware that Bagets tends to shy away from becoming a drum clinician. But this time, he's the one insisting na dapat matuloy ito. Yes, he's that serious about it.

First things first... We need a decent venue. Once we find a good venue, mas madali na ang mga susunod...

Sa tingin ko ok na rin ang Purple Haze uli, kasi hindi naman natin napuno ang venue noong December e. At saka pwede natin kausapin si pmack para ayusin ang reservation, diba?

Previous Pinoydrums EB venues were Freedom Bar (QC), Penguin Cafe (Malate) and Purple Haze (QC). We can talk to representatives from each venue, and see what we can come up with.

The owner of 6UnderGround in Legaspi Vill. Makati happens to be a very good friend of mine. Way back, we were talking about setting up one of our drumming events there. He's actually open and excited with the idea. I'll see what we can come up with.

It would be great if we can do this event on May, before the new school year begins.

By the way... I'll be hanging out tonight at Off The Grill in Timog Ave. QC (beside Xaymaca and Kolumn Bar). Bagets will be performing there tonight (with Pido). That regular gig is somehow becoming a musicians' EB of sorts (drummers in particular). And it's a great opportunity to watch and listen, and even meet Bagets. We can also talk about the drum event.
