away from moisture and heat?  kinda hard to do here in our beloved country.  :-D

i'm thinking of storing it in my closet as well or in one of my cabinets in my room.  or maybe in our bodega in the garage.  mukhang mas safe dun.  ash body planks if ever.  will it be ok there?

i think it will be safer along with my stash :-D :-D :-D
kidding aside,  i think it will be ok, esp in the garage.  you don't want it to be too protected, you'd want it to acclimate in our environment.

actually bro, i was considering that option if you wouldn't mind.   :-D

yeah...good point.  since when it comes a guitar it will be exposed to the environment anyway.  thanks for the inputs man!  :-)

Read about this builder Ron Kirn who also uses 100 year old pine as body for his guitars. Also read from his website that Leo used pine for the first few Broadcasters then switched to ash. Interesting.

Bro, got the chance to visit Wilcon kanina. Regarding the Pinewood stuff, they're treated na rin pala. Weatherwood na daw sila, so may mga organic something na kontra anay na and such.

About the thickness, meron silang 4 inches. Kaso 4x4. Yung sumunod na mas manipis ay 2 inches na lang.

you missed a good one.  i got wood good enough (and large) enough for 2 lacote/panormo guitars.  they call it phil rosewood but its not a true dalbergia.  it's called toog (Petersianthus Quadrialatus)
extremely curious how it will be like as a guitar
alex and mikko each got fretboard material.
they had quartersawn kalantas (the ones we've seen were not thick enough for bodies, but good enough for necks), teak and more.

i will be back...

mikko did the cds come out ok?

i had a good time.  kulang ang 2 oras sa lugar na yun...

i wanted to dive into that HUGE HUGE pile of wood cutoffs

anyway, here are the new members of my stash:

big enough for that lacote prototype i have lined up after the 7 string (i really should finish it :-P)

they have a nice taptone and a little denser than mahogany, not as dense as indian rosewood
i can't wait to cut these puppies up for backs and sides and string them up.  i'm really curious to how they machine, bend and sound like.  i've already chosen a nice set of engelman spruce tops for one set.
gotta find a bandsaw, the sooner i process them the sooner i season them.

great find, that place...will be back for the kalantas

I really don't trust treated wood.  But this is just my opinion, try it and let us know. It's  all about experimentation. :-D
Also, it's too small.  Nothing wider?
