Guys(and gals) i need your opinion.

I'm a 3rd year nursing student with an Acer Aspire 4520 running under Vista. So far sakit ng ulo lang dinulot with the compatibility problems. What do you think? Should i go back to XP? May mga bad experiences din ba kayo sa Vista?

pede mag XP ka ulit pero ang alam ko titigil na ang support ng Windows sa XP this month eh...

at pipilitin din tayo mag upgrade to Vista...

What do you mean support?

Help desk info? troubleshooting? ung ganun? kasi naka XP ako for 3 years halos at di naman ako pumunta sa microsoft website at nagkomplain o nagpatulong hahahaha

mas gusto ko pa rin ang xp over vista, nagtry ako magvista, medyo magulo at buggy pa rin.

Dapat Vista rant ito kasi dahil sa VISTA nabura ang lahat ng files ko..

thats

12Gigs of Mp3's

300mb of written stories, poems, songs etc (including my journal since 2nd yr highschool)

and 2gigs halos of pictures(wala na lahat ng pics na kinuha ko, since 2nd year din ang mga pics na un)

daming compatibility problems....

kasama na yan..pero ang importante kasi dun eh yung bug fixes, updates, mga security updates at kung anuano pa...

parang win98 o kaya millenium...sobrang obsolete na ngayon...

tingin ko mas maganda mag xp ka. mas simple at mas compatible sa karamihan ng software. mas konti bugs para sakin. vista medyo nakakalito kung di pa sanay tapos buggy parin siya.

marami pang program ang nde compatible sa vista...
cguro mga 2010 pa ako mag uupgrade sa vista..

hindi pa nila aalisin ang support ng xp... although titigil na nila ang pag benta ng xp sa end of the month... pero tuloy tuloy padin ang support ng xp... anyway... stick with xp since na extend till 2010 ang xp support... and i think microsoft will release their new OS by then... wag na muna ikaw mag vista...

- kung puro type, internet and few photoshop here and there ka lang i suggest try using linux... Linux Ubuntu, Fedora and Mint are my top picks... sobrang dali gamitin... it's free for download... you just have to try it para makita mo kung gaano kaganda...

well pag nag search ka ng linux sa google usually type mo lang yung distro na gusto mo like yung nisabi ko sa taas... linux ubuntu, linux fedora, linux mint... tapos sa site nila may direct download dun or torrent download kahit alin gusto mo free yan lahat...

linux fedora pinaka gusto ko... but ubuntu kicks ass too... linux mint is the easiest sa tatlo... pero try mo muna ubuntu then fedora then mint...

i might be OT, i would love to try Vista pero ang mahal ng Vista prang kelan lang nung binili ko itong WinXP ko for 8k LoL, siguro pag na ka upgrade na ako ng PC as in Major upgrade mas hihigit pa sa Maximum System Requirements ng Vista doon cguro ako bibili at susubukan ang vista pero as of now mahal ang Vista Ultimate

hindi ko pa na try kaya wala akong masasabi about vista pero sa Winxp wala naman akong naging problema most of the time hardware issue ang na eencounter ko kaya satisfied ako sa WinXP cguro 3 years from now mag Vista na ako

i still go for XP. Vista only looks good, and thats it.
it consumes a lot of your computer's resources and thats bigtime!
syempre, di mawawala compatibility issues, pero makakapag download ka naman ng updated versions ng drivers sa inet.
siguro, wait for vista SP2. this exactly what happened when they first released XP. and they "perfected" it when the released xp sp2. officially anounced by microsoft na obsolete na XP starting June, hindi na daw sila magrerelease ng updates. pero gagana pa naman mga old XPs natin, yun nga lang, there might coma a time na hindi na compatible yung mga bagong softwares sa XP. so, it either Vista or OS 10.5 na tayo.

mag xp ka kasi bago cpu ko pero nag xp ako meron pa naman pagkukuhanan ng mga updates e.. compatibility ang ayawa ko sa vista kasi kung ang printer scanner at iba pa e luma kailangan mo bumili ng bago kasi wala silang installer ng vista

I've been using vista for a couple of months na pero never had any problems? what compatability issues are you refering to?

bka new lahat ng hardware mo po katulad ng printer at iba pa...

kasi pag nagvista ka tapos yung printer mo e old model d tatangapin yun kasi wala pang software na pang vista yun hehehe yun lng

Si erpats bumili ng Windows Vista Home Basic 4,500.00 bili nya, yung systems specs nya pentium 4 2.6 ata un tas ram nya 512MB tas video card nya ATI 9700 Pro, ang lagkit na try ko kahapon kasi nga sunday nag visit ako sa kanila. baka need more RAM pero malagkit mabagal

wala naman akong nakitang pangit so far baka talagang kailangan lang mag upgrade ng buong parts like kailangan high end to run good.

tama, kailangan na nyang mag upgrade, kasi dun lang sa RAM nya eh wala na sa minimum requirement ng vista.

wala pa naman balita samin na ititigil na ang support for XP, for 2000 there are rumors pero wala pa cofirmation from our PTL
