Ihsahn now plays a BM-flavored brand of progressive metal. His most recent album, angL is a treat. Asgeir Mickelson and Lars Norberg from Spiral Architect join him on drums and bass, respectively. Even Mikael Akerfeldt lent his vocals on one cut ("Unhealer").

Good luck sa mga makabili sa set.  Limited edition siya, tapos medyo mahal ($130 plus shipping)

Prog aint just bout changing time signatures.

i agree. a lot of the bands mentioned dont really sound all that progressive to me. knowing how to count and play fast does not a progressive band make. the classic prog bands of the 70s utilized a lot of different textures, influences, and even instruments in their music and few of them even sounded remotely like each other. king crimson, yes, gentle giant, can, genesis, zappa...comparing a lot of today's "progressive" artists to them and i dont get it...

im sure there's a lot of truly progressive artists out there but so often its just another complicated counting band with shred guitar
