i'm an ultimate steve vai fanatic! marami nakong napakinggang gitarista, minsan i'm sick of listening to steve vai's music but after awhile, while searching for a new guitarist na papalit sa trono ni steve vai sa utak ko, i find none. may nadiskubre ako last year, si jack thammarat, he really plays well, malinis at aral talaga, pero iba pa rin si steve vai, i also tried to be hooked with EVH music, joe satriani, paul gilbert.. but steve vai talaga, not that i find him the most virtuoso guitarist, but his music really connects with my being. i like his skills and his flaws..

first time ko marinig si steve vai nong 1997, i was fourth year and my classmate lent me a g3 live in concert cassette tape. the cover is not inviting to listen but i tried to listen it anyway. before that, i'm a santan, van halen and jimi hendrix fan. the 1st song i heard is "answers", intro palang sabi ko highest level ng virtuosity ang taglay nitong taong ito, tapos after nung answers, my in-between guitar exhibition pa sya, mind-blowing tapping at feedback na may tono.. sabay pasok yung for the love of.. ayun na, na high nako kay steve vai since then. tapos lagi ko binibisita website nya.. wala pang youtube non..

Did Mr Vai ever visited the country? I am wondering of all the Ibanez/Audiophile clinics that have been going, If he had a time to go to the philippines, even if it's not for a tour or concert, then a guitar clinic would be great!

just wanna share my story about steve vai on how he made me a musician who plays guitar..

ever since high school pa lang nag electric guitar na ako..pinaka una kong influence is kirk hamett.. sumali sa banda.. as rythm guitarist, super ban ban pa talga ako nung time na to, i dont care bout my sound or anything.. until fourth year high school.. nung nag college na ako.. i decided to go to conservatory of music, this also changed my views about music, its very complex and deep.. i left and forget about playing electric guitar, and want to focus on classical music. for two years ive been straight to classical, poured so much time practicing, and want to excel. that time im not listening to any kind of music but classical or classic jazz..  after two years, a friend of mine lend me this original CD called Alien Love Secrets by Steve Vai and said i should listen to this track Bad Horsie! and i did.. and i was like.. wow.. this became my turning point to go to a music store and look for an RG guitar! then i got my first RG320dx,this event on my life helped me to find the half part of what i really want to do..cause right now im still in the proccess of finding my own uniqueness, cause everybody has their own sound.. this friend of mine had this two orig CD, alien love secret and sex and religion, and he sold me this for only 100 php! and now ive gathered all of steve's album up to his latest dvd where the wild things are. i can tell that i know all of his song, and can identify if it was steve vai or not..well most of the time.. Funny, that i can't play any steve vai piece.. but, ive been using his licks and changing it to my own playing, this is more important to me.. i think you would say that im a very good player and know a lot about playing guitar.. No.. im not.. but im trying to be, and always want to pull out the best of me..
