What matters more? where its made? or who made them?

dunno about you but my Nikon lenses are made in Japan. got some Zeiss stuff from Nippon as well.

Some in Japan, others in Thailand and China. I'm pretty sure the 50mm f1.8D was made in China, and I think so are the newer kit lenses. Mine says Made in Thailand..

ah. that makes sense. i mostly have older nikkor lenses and all of them are from Japan. back in the day when i bought them, i didn't see any non-Jap made Nikkor lenses though i routinely saw some Tamron and Sigma lenses that were awesome from China/Taiwan. how do the newer lenses perform? i shoot 35mm and 50mm manuals.

before, people dissed MIJ
after a few years, people love MIJ and swear by what MIJ guitar they have over MIA pop brands..they diss MIK.
jump, jump..when it comes to buying Epi's, Ibanezes, etc..people would prefer MIK betterer than MIC..
the next decade niyan eh, maganda na yung MIC at pangit pangit ng MII..

I agree. I also think MIC are stepping up one day at a time. Especially with the Squire Classic Vibe Tele. It even won Guitar Player magazine "Editors' Pick" on the Nov.2009 issue. It featured on Budget Solid bodies which reviews 10 guitars including the CV Tele - the review concludes "if you're looking for some Tele magic and then some, look no further than the Classic Vibe. This guitar rules, and it gets an Editors' Pick Award".. Probably a decade from now yang mga MIC na ang much coveted "MIJ".

There is NO personal attack.  I was just pointing out that they clarify which USA guitars they were refering to.  And that based on my experience, there are some USA guitars that deliver.  Do you have a USA made guitar?

I neither confirm nor deny this. May 2010 is still far away. I will make decision on November 30.

I didn't want to confirm nor deny such fact. I wanted to know what is the basis or logic behind owning one as opposed to borrowing or having played/tested one extensively.

I have the new Nikon 35mm f1.8. Made in China. They made it really cheap, so there's a bit of Chromatic aberration (inherent daw in these 35mm's) that they didn't bother to fix. But I can take that out with Photoshop.  But the images are excellent. And it's cheap! haha. I can send some sample pics your way pero super OT na..

Wala akong budget pambili ng US made guitar sa ngayon.. Baka pag China made mas kayanin ko pa.. Astig kung ang mga kano na gagawa sa China ay me QC na katulad sa US. Kaso, ganun pa rin kaya sila magtrabaho kung ang sweswelduhin nila ay sweldong binibigay sa China?

Me isang post akong nabasa na ang naisip kong Character na nagsasalita ay si Master Pogi ng dragon Ball kapag pinupuri nya sarili nya.. Parang ganun lang ang dating..
