this is the description and explanation on how it's done.  it's a bit different from the way we do a traditional left and right stack of our subs that's why it's ideal if you have at least 2 per side on every set-up.  although we did try before the traditional method of just stacking them standing up using a pair,  they still sounded good 

I had the chance to visit MB store in Pampanga last week.  A WSX sub is demoed there but it's just a single piece and is plainly standing unlike on the pic above as described by Sir Jef.  It's loaded with the C18 650el (only).  Beside it is the classic W-Box.  On the far left corner is the (my) subscoop with C-18elf.  We did a comparison first with the subscoop and then with the W-box.  To my great surprise the WSX is smoking! This will surely be my next project.

The C18 650 is the preferred driver replacement if you wish to clone the WSX.  Based from what I've read (from another forum) that the RCF L18 P300 was the main WSX's driver before, and since the C18 can be at par with the L18 P300 inside the WSX, with a slight advantage on the upper frequency response,  it's the splendid choice

i think it's the rcf 'L18 s800' and not the p300 that is being used as the 18" driver for the wsx

Bro, whether if its the RCF S800 or P300,  you should have opted for the c18 650 instead of the c-18elf for your Wsx cabs.  In my opinion the c-18elf is a perfect if not the perfect driver for the subscoops and not the Wsx

thanks for the info sir.  i'll surely consider the 650el on my next purchase (sana)  

you are right when you say that the wsx can still sound good 'plainly standing up'.  the initial ground stacked set-up is for the ultimate performance . . . as what the sound/design engineers of martin audio perceived them to be hehehe. as for me ok naman ang bayo ng wsx using the common stacking below.

meron isang makulet na nag-aalok sakin ng wsx box nag-tatrabaho daw sya dati sa MB,at i said meron nako nakuha sub zero.then he discourages me sa sub zero's na laos na daw ang mga sub zero's ngayon.ang trend daw kasi ngayon ay small but powerful bass sub boxes like wlx etc..at nag-fafabricate sila ng martin copies particularly wsx boxes,and he send me some photos like the above.and i agree sa sinabi nya about sa sub zero,kaya ill be selling my sub zero and get these martin copy cab!siguro yung wlx kunin ko.with Fane colusus drivers.kaya gas to the max..

sir karlwilson, i think the wsx can fit the L300 van although i too understand that we always look for  compact yet powerful subs.  i agree with sir tjlimjoco that the mb manifold subs are so far the most powerful compact subs out there.  as for my wsx18,  following the manufacturer's recommendation, it's a monster unleashed!

Yeah the manifolds are lean & mean subs given its small stature.  Got some pics during our visit at MB.  BTW, the IMF18s have been improved with better pole piece material as we were told. Nice

I was offered one of these giants few days ago.  It's priced at 31k each.    I'll stick with my c-18elf babies na muna .  Both are rated at 800watts naman but the PDs have 5" voice coils.

Naglabas ng ganito ang DELTA- Delta 1400 18inch woofer. 5 Inch din ang coil 1400 watts! Nasa 13.5k ang price yata.  Ok na din ang bayo pero hindi gaanong kalakas.  Ang XLINE naglabas din- LF-18S1000! 1000 watts at 5 inch coil din yata kaso mas mahina ito sa Delta 1400.

i just want to share my research on the p-audio challenger c18 650el model.  it's an old model but it's been a favorite among local groups as well as abroad.  it has a 'field replaceable basket assembly' so if you have a spare replaceable basket on hand,  repairing it will only take a few minutes.

Ganito halos gamit din ng tropa.  Ok ito at mas malakas at malinis ang bayo kaysa sa crown JH186.  Ok na din ang price.    Pag bagong kuha lang mdyo matigas mag-bass pero after mo na mabreak-in, ayung labas na ang quality bass.  Hindi pa namin nai-compare sa Delta 1400 na 5" coil.  Pero malapit na.

tama ka dyan sir.  Iba talaga ang Sd18 el ng P-audio.  kahit yung nga mga 21" hindi matapatan ang lakas at linaw ng bass ng Sd18 el!

+1 and even if the sd18 goes up around the 18 - 20thou range,  i would still consider of buying one since it can outclass the pd1850 (precision device ha) which is priced at 31thou.  xstatic has pd1850s also and he can make a head to head comparison with the sd18s which we did before.  hindi ko lang alam kung magbibigay cya ng less15 sa price pag bibili ka sa kanya hehe. . .

ask ko lang mga sirs, pwede po ba ang C18 650EL sa 1850 cabs? meron po ako 4 na 1850 clone loaded with crown 18"- 1860, low throws at a distance, pero gusto ko pong mag upgrade ng speaker..

any suggestion which speaker is the best for this cabs 1850?  tnx.....

looney bin sub (the modified pd1850 horn sub previously tailored fit for the pd1850 woofers only) and now designed for the void v18 1000 18" woofers.

This was posted a few pages back. The PD1850 sub was made for the Precision Device PD1850 which has a 5" voice coil.  The Looney Bin sub is a PD1850 sub hybrid for the Void V8 1000 - another 18" with a 5" voice coil.  An article I read stated in a European forum that the P.Audio SD18el, which has a 5" voice coil, is suited to fit these types of subwoofer cabinets.
