I always wanted one of those guitar stands where you can just prop your axes on its side. Its dangerous at my pad though, I have two 100lb dogs running around all the time and a couple of cats that can't seem to keep their paws off shiny/ dangling/ moving objects...lol.

Abyss, with 100lb dogs, nothing would make your guitars safe from them. As for cats, you should see the cover on the Peavey speakers, the cats think its their scratching pad. hahahahaha

bugoy and edge, just looks big. I think the drum kit makes it look big. That Tama Stagestar is really a small kit.  Altho for the size of the room, it's good enough for rehearsing. The room is small enough that everytime my gf comes down when we are rehearsing (there's 4 of us), she says "this room reeks of musician's sweat." lol

BTW, I think my next addition to the studio would be a bar fridge so we don't have to go upstairs for drinks. ;)

Oh those boxes. hahaha Yeah I really should. It's been over a year now since we moved to the house and I still have boxes. Actually ang laman noong boxes are 600 LP albums, half rock. half jazz. Mostly ones I accumulated when I was in the "audiophile" phase of my life, all imported from the USA, Japan, Germany, etc. :) About 300 CDs and then the rest of the boxes contain guitar mags, (guitar world, guitar one, etc) from 1989-1998. I stopped collecting them since then.

the design of that wood poster methinks really works as a diffuser. ive seen one at shinji's studio

If it is indeed used as a diffuser, two things:
1) the diffusive elements are too thin to diffuse appreciable frequencies (the thickness should at least be 4 to 8 inches); and
2) diffusers are normally placed at the back of mix position.  You put absorption in front for better point source control, otherwise your stereo spread is all over the place.

My 2 cents.

yes sir mike... i agree it should be placed at the back. ive seen alot of studio pics with that wood frame design diffuser and its placed at the back.
btw the actual frame that i saw at shiji's studio is placed at the vocal booth at the back of where the singer tracks. :)

My 2 cents.

I am actually thinking about getting a couple of the space couplers from auralex to use in my drum space. Apparently, these artSPACE things that auralez makes are pretty good. I've seen them in a couple of studios here but i never thought much about them for my own place.
