Update: Share ko lang DIY ng PEAVEY RAGE AMP.

This amp has a CLEAN and DIRT channel.

Problem: The switch channel (push button) is located in between the knobs of the AMP. So if I want to switch channel between CLEAN and DIRT channel I will need to push the small button with my finger.

Solution: Created a foot switch channel at the back of the AMP using STEREO JACK PL, wired the push button switch.

Materials: Stereo Jack PL (female), any wire (with 3 wires) HOT, COLD, GROUND, A regular foot switch.

I'll try to post some pics...

Yung silver ba yan?  RAGE 258?  Yung red stripe kasi toggle yung channel select, and I couldn't get my head around which traces to drill holes into, and I abandoned the idea of a footswitch.  Nilagyan ko lang ng ext. speaker jack.

Depende. Anong klaseng branded 4x12 cab yan bro na may celestion? Anong celestion speaker?

Tapos yung sa DIY, sino gagawa? Anong kahoy gagamitin? Malamang sa ikaw din bibili ng 4pcs celestion of your choice kaya added cost pa yun.

DIY 4x12 speaker cab celestion... mas makakamura ba... or bumili nln ??

You can customize kahit anong designed gusto mo at color  :)

Marine plywood gamitin mo para good quality.

Tapos the rest pwede na lagare.

Give time and chance to train yourself!

I've already built a 1x12 and 2x12 cab.. :-)

Peace bro.

Kaya mo yan sir trust yourself.

2. after mo i drawing ihiga mo yong plywood. at pag tabi tabi hin mo yong 4 na 12" na speaker mo like this ... wait post ko picture

So bali ito ang outlook nyan after mo butasan yong plywood....  :).

It's easy to build.  But not so easy and it won't be cheap if you really want to do a good job.  And you WILL make mistakes.  And you WILL need patience, ergo.. time.  Gastos paunti-unti, in the long run mas mahal.  If you intend to build in stages, take your time, and focus on building something really good instead of cutting cost... it's a worthwhile learning process.  Builds confidence, and what you build, if you took pride in building it, is always yours.

Some cabs in the classifieds are good.  Personally I found myself drooling over upfront's old re-finished Sunn 2x15.

I'm not sure what you mean?  But yeah, more DIY is good.  I like it because you build for your purpose.  Whether that means being strapped for cash, truly wanting a one-off build that no one else will make, or you're ultimately hyper-critical of typical custom jobs.

"Maybe if i do it I'll get it right, get exactly what I want, and learn something in the process" is my favored attitude going into a build.

:) Galing, Plywood marine po sir. 1/2, 1inch pwede... Price nyan ngayon nasa P1K each mahal na sobra. dati P400-P500 lang isa nyan tapos yong totong Marine is P750.

Here's what I look at every night before I go to sleep for close to a month while waiting for additional stuff to come in...

Finally, a few more stuff came and it was possible to continue...

Crudely checking if the fretboard is as flat as possible...

Started with 120 grit sand paper...

After a few passes, lots of lacquer powder. I don't push the radius block to the fretboard while sanding, just making sure it is flat and letting it's own weight do the work and sliding it from end to end.

Vacuum cleaner was on standby for clean-up. Wasn't able to take a picture but I also clean the sandpaper with the vacuum cleaner so it doesn't clog up too much.

After several passes... Notice the uneven portions. I guess partly because of uneven lacquer layer and/or warp.

After more passes, it is getting more even and the amount of sanded dust also became lesser

And after more passes, it looks more even...

Marked the board with pencil marks to double check if there are still uneven portions...

After a few sanding passes, I observed the pencil marks were getting removed evenly. After all the pencil marks were removed, shifted to 220-grit sand paper.

After two rounds of sanding passes, here's the final outcome...

As reminded by free2rock, I ran a file through each slot to aid in easier fretwire insertion and help the fret wire seat properly (the undersides of the fret crown where it joins the tang is not "flat")

Proceeded to hammer in the frets... First, I cleaned the fret wire.

Then I put Elmer's Glue All into the slots with the aid of a used guitar 1st string

The fret wire I got was pre-radius 9.5" (too near 10") and should have bought ones with tighter radius. So, I couldn't really follow hammering ends first before running the hammer up/down the middle.

I didn't want to bother re-radiusing the current wire so what I did was just hammer it from one end to the other while firmly holding the wire and then going back and forth and closely inspecting if it has seated properly.

After a few fret wire installations that are about the width of the shorter 10" radius block I bought, I clamp it over the frets and wait for the glue to dry. I used some scrap silicon rubber sheet so the fret wire will not put indentations into the wood.

To be continued... Watching MotoGP and Wimbledon for now.

Thanks for reading.  :)

Ang ma-mungkahi ko kung ako ang nasa katayuan mo, gagamit ako ng multimeter (set to continuity mode) at i-figure out ko yung on-off switch kung alin sa anim na legs ang nagiging connected at alin ang hindi kapag naka-on yung switch. Ganun din kapag naka-off naman. From there, pwede ma-figure out kung pa'pano ang magiging wiring sa PCB towards sa footswitch na ginawa mo.

Puntahan mo yung link na shinare ni yekoz a few posts before. It is a very good reference for it is very similar to what you are trying to achieve.

Btw, the link to the bigger pic is just the same size as the pic you shared.

from this:

Looking at the pics, mukhang possible naman.

Pero baka madaan sa educated trial and error by using a caliper at sukat-sukatin yung saksakan sa trem unit.

----------

On second thought and looking at the pictures again, mukhang maiksi yung sinasaksak na portion nung iniisip mo i-convert na trem bar compared sa orig...

1 hot
2 ground
3 cold

Ayan natapos ko na din ang DIY front-of-amp to FX loop switcher pedal... after months of procrastination  <_<

Here it is from idea to product:
Design quoted below:

- Materials (jacks, 4PDT switch, 22awg hookup wires, enclosure and labeler)

- Exterior (still need LED and DC jack)

Pedalboard people:

Anyone tried to create a switching unit that does the following:
* ON: Your pedalboard chain is routed as follows: Guitar --> pre-pre effects --> Amp preamp --> efx loop (mod effects + delay) --> back to amp
* OFF: your whole pedalboard goes in front of the amp.

I've researched some stuff in the net, and I found someone who used a 3PDT switch and 2PDT, so this looks feasible.  But I did not know what the result was.  So I'm trying to design a box with 3 in and 3 out and a 3PDT switch to achieve the above.  See below:

Anyone tried to do this?  Magkaka problem ba to sa ground?  Before I buy the materials, I'd like to know if this will work.  Appreciate any inputs.  Please do not ask me "why I want to do this?", hehe.  I know I can just turn off the amp and re-configure my cable so I don't have to do this, but I just want to  :-D.  Anyway, appreciate your help if you have experience on this.

Routing when switch is "ON"

Signal routing when switch is "OFF"
