for me using metronome is being mechanical. i use metronome when i practice but not all the time. kailangan mabuild up mo ang internal metronome mo sa katawan mo. hindi lahat ng nagmmetronome eh laging on tempo. may kilala akong drummer na laging naka metronome pag nageensayo pero pag tumugtug na ng live eh sablay ang tempo. sumusugod lumalaylay. tempo rubato kumbaga. hindi ko sinasabing hindi effective ang metronome. effective sya kung alam mo kung pano gamitin at pano sabayan pero ang pinakaimportante eh yung internal metronome. :-)

... not really a drummer but since i have become a one man band i had to learn some drumming hehehhe.. pero i think its applicable sa lahat naman ng instruments.. ( owh and i play, kyeboards, bass and guitars plus vox aswell)   i started using yung rhythm function ng mga casio keyboards dati then i boughy my own meetronome na digital tapos naka-earphones ako tpos me nakapatong na earmuffs ( yung pang construction- im so cheap).. ginagamit ko is yung straight ticks lang ( tik tik tik tik tik )

Hi mga sirs and ma'ams,

Im currently looking for a digital metronome.  One I can use while practicing drums or gig-ing.  the ones in JB music and Lazer is no good kasi once I start playing, hindi ko na marinig.  Can anyone point me to the right direction where I can buy a really good and not-so-expensive one?

thanks!!

dude, malakas na yung volume ng mga metronome na yun. natural hindi mo yun maririnig kung tumutugtog. kung lakasan mo pa yung volume nun baka masira eardrums mo haha. what you need is in-ear isolation earphones or isolation headphones. yung earphones, yun yung sinasaksak sa tenga nang sagaran para nablo-block yung external noise.

heres what i did kasi hindi ko din marinig... cheap stereo headphones ( yung nabibili sa quiapo  and bangketas nationwide) tapos bumili ako nung constrction ear muffs yung tipong para sa nagbabarena at nagjjack hammer... i just wear the cheap headset then place the ear muffs over the headset... so all in all magagastos mo is give or take 300 pesos lang ... :-D

Metronome for practicing drums
« Reply #114 on: September 03, 2008, 06:15:50 AM »
When you practice playing the drum kit, you'll really need a metronome to practice very well and get the timing right accurately. It is also useful when practicing at increasing speeds.

So can any of you guys suggest me a good metronome at a reasonable price that is available in the philippines (manila/quezon) especially in dumaguete city (where i live)? Pls reply ASAP.

simple questions: what would be a good upgrade from my korg ma-30 metronome? it does the job but it's pretty basic, and i hate the fact that i have to use earphones to hear it. and i don't like the click sound.

i want to practice using a metronome again, medyo matagal ko narin kasi di nagagamit yung metronome since i hate having things stuck in my ears when playing.

currently, i'm eyeing the tama rhythm watch. is it available locally? and for how much? any other suggestions regarding other metronomes would be nice as well. thanks.

may nabasa ako a few pages back na available daw yung rhythm watch sa audiophile so i'm just confirming. and... nabanggit din ni sir peeves24 na importante yung tap button?

I'm using a boss db30 and may built in speakers na sya..
maraming beats and rhythms..
relatively big lcd display..
meron ding LED.
pwede tumayo magisa..
may tap function...
may reference pitches...
may clave, odd times, etc,...

http://www.bosscorp.co.jp/products/en/DB-30/specs.html
http://media.roland.com/en/v/v0444/v044402M.mov

solve na dito for basic to intermediate needs..

kung mas complex ang kailangan and gusto iba ibang tunog, drum machine ginagamit ko.. pinoprogram ko to whatever sound na gusto ko and kung anong pattern.. pwede din dito ung may count/tunog ng ilang measure tapos mawawala after ilang measure then babalik ulit after ilang measure..

you may also want to refer to my previous post
