I also tried having using my podxt live for modulation only. My main dirt is Kali Krunch. No tone suck. More possibilities pa kung you use the cabinet models tsaka EQ of the POD sabay external distortion.

i love my Podxt Live. Best piece of equipment for me. I get a lot of great tones out of it.
Here's the sample of how my guitar sounds like.was able to get a cool sound using a phaser for touch guitar playing.

Output would be in the middle. Too much or at full doesn't sound right for me, specially on the cleans, they tend to break up.
Ah ok, when i'm using a combo amp, i set it to combo amp, pag recording i put it to direct.

Petrucci clean is not complete with the sine chorus. Another thing, I don't use any amp nor cab with clean. Just sine chorus, comp, stereo delay na sobrang ikli and reverb.

Ayos bro. I suggest you double track the rhythm tapos i-pan mo. Move one track around .025 second delay or less sa other track.

Pero ang makakasagot talaga ninyo ay si sir Ninmei kasi from XT Live, nag-upgrade siya to X3 Live. May naririnig ako sirain daw yung X3L. Gaano ka totoo yun sir Ninmei?

hmm.. to be frank.. mas matibay ang XTL, since hard plastic lang ang X3L (i hope alam niyo meaning ng HARD). pero in terms of effects, amp sims, additional buttons and etc.
Win ang X3L for that. Kumbaga bago yung amp sims nila.. narealize ko yun kasi galing ako sa XTL. mas fuller yun amps sims niya. And as for the drives... Wala man lang nagbago, pero kaya nag ka dual tone para magawan ng paraan yung drives ng X3L. more tweakable ika nga.. So makakakuha ka talaga ng maganda drives..

nagtataka yung sound tech namin kagibi sa gig. last week kasi gt10 pa ang gamit ko. hindi nya alam na nag palit ako ng effects.
nanibago sya sa tunog ko, mas malinaw daw at walang hizz, naka rekta kasi sa mixer yung gitara don. nung nalaman nyang iba effects ko sabi nya mas ok, dati kasi may hizz kapag nag dadagdag sya ng treb sa mixer, (pero walang hizz pag sa amp) ngayon wala ng hizz, mas claro at may brilyo.
akala pala nung sound tech bumalik na ako ulit sa gt8 kaya luminaw na yung tunog ko.
hinahayan ko sya mag adjust ng eq ko, pwede kasing masyadong matalas o ma-bass sa labas. hindi ko din naman sure kung ano tunog ko sa labas. imo lang. kagaya non, matalas daw una kong tunog, siya na nag adjust. ok naman kasi tunog ko sa amp. kaya hindi ko alam kung ano yung tunog sa out.

Both the OS and line 6.Gumana na yung sa akin sir Pao goodnews!!Ang ginawa ko niinstall ko yung driver na pang Vista, nidisable ko yung soundcard ko, then nirestart yung pc na nakakabit yung XT live!! Ayun hindi na nagcrash!!! Try ko icheck today kung gagana ba sa DAW. :|

if you checked the link you should've seen the difference between the POD XT & XT Live. Ano ibig mong sabihing nami-mix? If you meant na natwi-tweak yung setting yes you can sa PC/Laptop of dun mismo sa Pedalboard (if you're using XT Live).
Kung XT lang ang bibilhin mo, kailangan mo pang bumili ng floorboard, I think merong nagbe-benta ng ganun sa Classifieds right now. POD XT with floorboard.
I suggest you get the XT Live, neo_rockista08 is selling one dirt cheap (I know coz that used to be mine). Check it out sa Classifieds.

2. i downloaded the line 6 edit software and tried to install it on my laptop. it requires the java runtime environment software. i have the latest java runtime environment installed, but the line 6 edit was not able to detect it. as a result, the line 6 edit cannot run. i tried several times using the latest version of the line 6 edit (3.0.2) and an earlier version (3.0), but still i can't run the line 6 edit software. i tried restarting my pc several times. any suggestions ? my laptop is running vista. Ganyan din problema ko sir pero Win7 kasi OS ko. Ang alam ko kapag niinstall mo yung Line6 edit may iinstall din yang JRE. Pero katulad nung sa inyo, hindi rin madetect ng Line6 edit yung JRE sa OS ko kahit yung latest version na ang nakainstall :cry:

line6 forum support is actually pretty helpful with stuff like that. the same java problem happened with me before. my solution - uninstall java 6 :-D.
the patch editing software is called Gearbox (it's the overall editor for guitarport and pods, and it's free from the website), while Line6 Monkey helps update software, firmware, drivers, etc. for all sorts of Line6 products. have you registered your xtlive? line6 is OC about stuff like that. if you don't, they won't give you freebies.
gearbox lets you edit patches.
line 6 monkey lets you download pre-made patches from the net (among other things).
i think it does, but to be honest, i'm not certain, x3l kasi yung sa akin. when gearbox opens for the first time on a pc, it opens a window that displays the bank information in your pod. i edit then save the patch in that window.

can i transfer an individual tone (as opposed to a whole library or "bundle") to the podxt live ?
- Yes you can.
what software can do that? ( i haven't tried gearbox yet. i tried line 6 edit but no success, or i just don't know how :-D )
- Line 6 Edit. For example, you want to transfer a tone to patch 18b. just highlight both of them & click the SELECTED SEND button. You'll see that patch 18b will be replaced with the patch you want to transfer. Then click the SYNC button. There, you just transfered your tone to XTL. Just remember to SYNC before you exit, otherwise hindi matra-transfer yung tone mo sa XTL.
Also, always backup your current bundle using Line 6 Monkey.

Suggestion ko sir wag nyo sir gamitin yung Amp and Cab simulator ng Amplitube. Yung POD XT Live kasi amp and cab simulator na. Sa XT Live nyo sir kunin lahat ng tunog ng dirts nyo. Kung gusto ninyo ng high-gain katulad ng sa video nyo try nyo yung Solodano na Amp tapos Brit T75 ata na cab. Settings ng Amp is 50% drive, 64% bass, 94% mid, 34% treble, 34% presence.Wag kayo gamit ng Condenser or Dynamic na mic. Then gamit kayo ng screamer with 100% drive, 50% gain, 0% tone. Ano po ba gamit nyong pickup? Kung gamitin ninyo sa humbucking pickups yang suggested ko na settings sarap niyan!!! Dagdagan nyo pa ng Cavernous na reverb and digital delay para masmalinamnam!!! :-D
Fruity Loops 9 (FL9) yung gamit kong software sir for drumtracks. Madugo gumawa ng drumtracks dun pero worth naman yung pagod. :-D

That TS model is the closest you will get in that unit.
Getting the true pedal is the one that will give you that analog trademark sound.
I came from a podxtl and a bunch of multis before and there's really a big difference especially in feel kapag analog....
The PodXTL, despite that, is a very good multi-effects. But looking for the analog sound especially the feel, that's what it can't give you I'm afraid...
Just to reiterate, the PodXTL is really good in its class.

Im very convinced to say that the POD's drives (pedal sims) are crap.. real crap.

Its amp sims are probably one of the best in the digital world when going direct. Of course it's not spot on as the original amps and nothing beats the original amp but hey, we're sometimes on a budget y'know? :-D

nagtataka yung sound tech namin kagibi sa gig. last week kasi gt10 pa ang gamit ko. hindi nya alam na nag palit ako ng effects.
nanibago sya sa tunog ko, mas malinaw daw at walang hizz, naka rekta kasi sa mixer yung gitara don. nung nalaman nyang iba effects ko sabi nya mas ok, dati kasi may hizz kapag nag dadagdag sya ng treb sa mixer, (pero walang hizz pag sa amp) ngayon wala ng hizz, mas claro at may brilyo.
akala pala nung sound tech bumalik na ako ulit sa gt8 kaya luminaw na yung tunog ko.

Ang galing may 1/4-inch balanced output ang Pod XT!!! :-D :-D :-D
XLR yun bro.. wala yatang 1/4" balanced output.. 1/4" kasi yung sukat ng mga jacks/plugs na gamit natin.. yung XLR ay yung may tatlong pins.. yun ang balanced output.. :wink:

My guitar connected sa input ng POD XT using unbalanced normal cable, POD XT to PA using balanced cable(TRS male ng balanced cable naka saksaksa output ng POD XT tapos yung female XLR nakasaksak sa PA). In short hindi na kailangan ng Direct Box!!! :-D :-D :-D
Ang gusto ko rin ma try sir is yung left output ko is nakasaksak sa keyboard amp para may monitor ako sa stage tapos yung right output naman direct to PA na. :-D

i personally find the XT+shortboard combination to be very handy in during live and recording situations.. it's portable and not that bulky to be carried around tapos it's small enough to be used for a recording interface.. :-)

I mainly idolize (haha nah just an inspiration) this guy, awesome tone. We use the POD as amp sims only (good guitarists think alike! haha joke)
i really dont use it like an effect box either. So this guy is my guide lines! Sir chino, id seriously look for a POD rather than a G2.1u. I was a previous user of a G2 as well. its okay.. but more tweakable options on the POD.

Are you running the POD into an amp? Best not to, better to run it straight into a PA. If you're using a tube amp, don't use the POD's amp modelling, just use the effects, or better still, sell it and get an M13 stomp box moddeller. If you're using a solid state amp, use the amp modelling, but run the EQ on the amp like this: bass off, treble off, mids on full. Adjust to taste, sometimes you might want to pull the mids back a touch from full or add a smidgen of treble, it depends on the amp.

hey man.. eto friendly tips. If you find yourself very lazy to use a POD. Then the POD isnt for you.
Im telling you this cuz tweaking and spending time with the POD is essential.
it takes time! life's too short for a bad tone y'know.
One of the main reasons why I chose the POD cuz I recognized the skills, lalo na sa amp simulations.
I think half the money (or even 80%) we spent in purchasing the POD is all about its amp sims.
Don't get tired of making presets. Mas mahirap mag tweak in the middle of the gig!

ayun!!!Sir kung solve ka na sa ME-50 sir, wag ka na magXTL. Magkaibang mundo kasi yung ME-50(fx modeller) sa XTL(amp modeller). The best gamitin ang XTL sa keyboard amp or straight sa PA. Ang ME-50 naman the best sa harap ng amp. Na try ko na dati na sa harap ng amp yung XTL(naka off yung amp sims) solve naman. Ang isang malaking advantage ng XTL is best siya for recording sir kasi pwede siyang USB interface. Back read kayo sir may mga post ako dito sa thread ng mga recordings ko with XTL. :-D

Yung X3L is basically two POD XTLs joint together with addition of different spicy sauces.
If simplicity lang habol okay na yung XTL. Promise okay na talaga.
Kasi yung X3L is a "one-band-box" na ee. You can record anything. Yes anything! Drums, keyboards, vocals, bass guitar, acoustic guitar so and on and on and on. Its like buying a recording studio na rin.
Pero its not as high-tech as you can believe it could be. Some flaws din like latency etc etc.
You can also play Bass guitar sa XTL! yes! SCREW YOU BASS POD XTL! haha.
Gamitin mo lang yung amp sim na fender bassman. (di ba meant naman ang bassman sa bass guitar? lol)
IMHO lang.
Ask me if the extra cash is worth it sa X3L? I can proudly say YES.

Pag ginamit mo na yung POD XTL nandun na lahat yun. Nung gamit ko yung XTL noon, @ first naisip ko kakainin ako nito ng buhay! Mahihirapan ata ako mag tweak ng lintek dito sa MFX na ito.
Pero natuto na din ako agad mga 1 week of study and learning (forums, tanung tanung kahit mukha ng noob, experiment) Tingen ko kaya mo yun. Problemahin mo muna kung paano ka mag kaka-XTL. Pag meron ka na, ayun problemahin mo na yung paano ito i-twetweak. Convincing naman ang demoes ng XTL.
NO QUESTIONS needed sa quality nito :D

tanung pala...Kung practice lang sir, the best ang POD XTL kapag nakaheadphones. May isang output lang ang POD XTL pero yung output na yun is may iba't-ibang modes. Pwedeng studio direct(eto yung setting kapag ikabit mo yung POD XT sa PA, Keyboard amp, etc), combofront, etc. Kapag sinasak ninyo yung headphones ninyo sa POD XTL automatic siyang nagiging studio direct yung setting. Hindi complicated yung wiring ng POD XTL pero sophisticated yung mga setting which makes it the best "MULTI"!!! Hehe

mga kapatid, im planing to buy a xtl live. Upon reading reviews on harm0ny central, i was bothered because there are so many bad reviews regarding this item. One that bothered me the most is that you cant put chorus and delays at the same time or you cant mix the synth with a phaser because they are grouped differently. Un po sbi pa nga dun parang pointless na kc hindi raw pwede mag sabay sabay ng mga effect because of this grouping. Tulong naman mga kapatid.Salamat.Pwede pagsabayin ang chorus and delay sa POD XT sir. Ang chorus kasi is nasa group ng modulations and ang delay is syempre nasa delay. May effect pa nga sa pod xt live sa delay na group na delay with modulation eh. so kung maglalagay ka pa ng modulation may dalawa ka nang modulation. I hope na gegets nyo yung sinasabi ko. :lol:

Hey xelly! I've tried the DI method before pero ang problema madamot yung main man namin, bitin ako sa monitors kaya i use the guitar amp as monitor.Yung ang problema sir kapag madamot yung tech. Kung ganun sir masOK na keyboard amp gamitin nyo tapos LINE mode kayo sa POD XT live. Kapag guitar amp kasi nahahaluan ng ibang kulay yung tone ng XTL. :-)

Gamit ko ngang monitor yung Aria Amp na 30w kahit papano okay naman tumunog kasi as monitor lang naman.
Ive tried adding drive pedals on the pod. +1 on the greatness na nagagawa pero IMHO parang overkill na sakin yung ganun thats why i sold all my pedals and stayed to the POD alone. Nasa tweak lang kung pano magiging organic or less digital yung tunog. 97% of the congregation hindi mapapansin na dinidigital natin mga tones natin haha.

the gig area was kinda larger than our typical gig are so I and the audio guy tried 3 setups:
One was direct to PA, feeding me through the monitors - well, I can definitely say it has the cleanest studio quality sound but it didn't have the "umph" kaya when the drummer kicked in, ayun nilamon na ko.
Going straight to PA is pretty much the bestest thing you can do with a POD. watch this.Uy malaking tulong ito para kay sir Manilacoke3!! Ayus sir Ninmei!! :-D
Forget the rest and wait til he discussed his set-up for the POD. (disregard kung X3 gamit niya, he once used a XT pero same set-up din)

it doesn't have to be an Atomic Amp. Tyaka portability naman ng POD ang pinaguusapan so tingen ko hindi picky ang POD
sa PA. Swertehan na lang sa PA system siguro haha! Decent keyboard okay na bro! Kung talagang pihikan ka e Atomic na nga lang. Pero like Brewster, na travelling guitarist POD lang gamit niya e very convenient. Minsan nga he asks the event to buy a POD na lang at download na lang niya patches niya through net. Sarap buhay nun haha.
Dati naasa ako sa drive pedals noon pero ngayon hindi na POD alone na lang. You'll see what I mean pagdating ng panahon.

Not in my book it aint. As you can see IMHO the technology that Line 6 use now is based on the X3's processing power. Its all about the X3 (sorry XT). Let me drive it to this.+1
Since the POD is almost a whole band arsenal the processing power is limited. The POD's PP is focused too much on the AMP SIMULATIONS rather than the EFFECTS esp on the DRIVES w/c the DRIVES are lacking so much.
Then there's the M series (M13/9) comes in. The PP focuses on the effects alone so it may give you a tonal advantage over the POD, but no amp sims. (They all counts digitally.)
Some people pair up the M series to other amp sims like Sansamp Liverpool.
So therefore putting the two together.
POD (awesome amp sims) + M13/9 (awesome effects) = pawnage tone :D
To pick between the two? I'd really go for the POD since its more "multi" than the M series.

Nagulat ako!! Dala ko nun yung POD ko tapos sinaksak ko sa Boston M6 amp sa aux-in(ganda ng tunog nito mga sir). Nagulat sila nung nakita nila yung dambuhala kong multiFX!! Feeling ko pumunta ako sa party na nakatodo formal attire ako tapos lahat ng tao nakacasual lang. :lol: :lol: :lol: Kaya minsan overkill na kahit pod lang eh. Hehehe!! Pero gusto ko magkaroon ng M9!!! :-D

Question though, Im connecting a TRS-to-XLR(male) cable from the POD to the PA's mic inputs (female XLRs). Am I doing it right, since may LINE inputs din sa PA, should I connect to that instead?
Na-check ko wala nga. Use a DI box to convert your unbalanced line out to a balance XLR to PA.Tama si ninmei. Kaya nagpalit ako from XTL to XT with fbv board is because ang XT ay may balanced output pero you need to use TRS-XLR cable. Pero ang XTlive hindi balanced ang output. So kahit kabitan mo ng TRS-XLR cable yun, unbalanced pa rin. baon nalang kayo ng DI sir para tapos ang problema. :-D
POD XTL (line out) >> DI >> PA.
tingen ko mas better option to. Tas you can use the other out to a another emitting sound device for monitor, set the right setting and huwala. okay na :D hope the helps
i got to read the online forums from line6
apparently, line 6 edit runs on the old version of java runtime (version 5), while java's latest version is version 6.
java does not provide anymore support for the old version and line6 has not provided support either.
kaya some forumers on their site worked on a software tweak to solve this problem.
please check this out , but i don't know if it will run on windows 7.

got to acquire a used pod xt live recently, fortunately enough, just had it for only 10k, with a generic carrying case, usb cable and psu, mint and working condish.. :-) been lurking around this thread for quite a while now since i'm new to this product, ..mejo nosebleed pa ko mag tweak but big thanks to this thread i finally got line 6 edit to work with my windows 7.. :-)

Sure yun sa states ata? ewan ko lang sa atin dito. Ive been gassing for a X3 dati dahil sa international forum na active din ako pero wala pang binebenta dito as pinas na X3. Nung nagkaroon naman ako ng X3 wala pang 1 year may HD500 na agad.Kung magkaroon tayo ng HD500 agad mukhang magtatagal yun ng 2yrs sir then palit uli!! :lol:

I think Line 6's HD300 are the same like the XTL with better amp sim and effects nga lang.Tama ba ang ibig sabihin ng HD is High Definition? So siguro nag-upgrade din sila ng pagsimulate nila ng mga amps tama ba?

Just watched Sinosikat @ B-Side Makati yesterday with Nick Azarcon carrying the XTL connected to front-of-amp. He was trying to connect to the effects loop return nung marshall pero busted ata hehe. Ang linis ng patches nya considering na straight to amp sya with amps sims on the POD turned on. From what I saw on his POD(from afar), most used setup nya are the amp sim (not sure though which amp), auto wah, tremolo, and pedal wah, but I never saw the delay LED on even once. Nevertheless, ang galing paren. Nainspire tuloy ako sa XTL ko. :D

Sa ngayon Kasi bro discontinued na ang pod xt live kaya ang Alam ko Hindi na rin sila nagbebenta ng model packs. Pwede mo gawin bro is abang ka ng magbebenta ng xtlive na complete na model packs. Or the best is upgrade na to x3live. Yung stock kasi ng x3live kumpleto na model packs

Ako din kakakuha ko lang ng XT Live last month eh di naman ako ganun kayaman para maka-score ng HD500 haha, tyaka na siguro or dun na sa next series ng POD after the HD series ako bibili ng bago. Pero so far solve na solve naman ako sa XT Live at wala pa naman akong makitang magandang rason para palitan sya agad.
