started playing the game, treated it like Diablo II, then i realized it was different. it wasnt about leveling up fast and getting to the main bosses, it was more about enjoying the world and the lore in it...

so i stopped my power leveling approach and did things that were fun ... pick-pocketing and sneaking basically lol

i play so slow.... 4 hours na ata ako and i'm still level 7

TIP: Every level, may chance ka mag-enhance ng skill (ie: one-handed, two-handed, smithing, etc), limang beses lang per level, kaso may bayad. Plus, hahanapin mo pa yung mga tao na pwede ka magtrain. so mas maganda kung magtraining ka na on early levels, kasi you might find it useful later on. :) I found smithing skill very useful kasi dahil sa "Arcane Smithing". Pwede mong ma-enhance pa yung mga enchanted weapons.

Another TIP: Kung wala pang "Arcane Smithing", pwedeng i-enhance muna ang weapon/armor, bago i-enchant.

Parang mga 'to:

http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=131

http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=85

And yung Val's Crafting Meltdown mod (http://"http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=874").

EDIT:

Di parin ako makapili ng side. Pero parang mas gusto ko mag-side sa Empire since Ulfric Stormcloak seems to be too full of himself.

Okay lang yan. Ako nga naka two-handed sword tapos switch sa bow and arrow for ranged targets. I'm currently doing quests for the College of Winterhold.

i noticed na may game flaw nga yung Skyrim ... if you just concentrate on:

-Smithing (to build the high end weapons)
-Enchanting (to take care of damage, mana if you are a mage, health if you are a tank and stamina if you are an assasin)
-Alchemy (to buff up your smithing and enchanting to crazy levels)

and then put all your stat points into health.

you can build any character you want... use any skill ... and you will own the game. i hope they will nerf that alchemy buffs soon, nakakasira ng game... imagine, crafting a 1,000,000 damage bow

Never fancied myself as a spellcaster, aside from curing myself and the occasional flame or spark trip. And wala akong pasensya maggawa ng potion eh. Haha. But I agree. Although I don't think I have the patience to try to craft a 1M damage bow.

Ano pala version nyo ng Skyrim? PC?

The largest sum of gold i had was 50k+, until I have purchased that house in Solitude. WORTH 30k+ including upgrades! DEYM. Don't purchase it on early game!

Daedric greatsword gamit ko. Baliktad ako eh. Best defense is a good offense. Hahaha.

I just recently crafted a complete Dragonbone set.

No, not at all. Basic combat things. More on combat kasi ako over magic. :)

Kung yung tinutukoy mo is para sa prices (higher selling price, lower buying price, para mabilis yumaman ng bahagya), go to Falkreath, and go directly to the blacksmith there, bibigyan ka nya ng quest na hanapin mo yung aso nya, take that quest, in the end, makukuha mo yung "Mask of Clavicus Vile". Maganda rin mga enchantments nya. :)

I also had the same opinion. Aesthetically, i liked the daedric set more. Kaya ngayong araw, makukuha ko na yung gauntlets, boots, isa pang sword (I use two swords, for greater damage, and filling soul gems.) at great sword. :evil laugh:

Basta ako nilagyan ko yung perk na pwede kang maka attack with your shield. Useful din, nagi-stumble ang mga kalaban. :)

Yup.

Well level 35 naman nako so okay lang. Hehe.

Woops. Haha. Hindi pa.

Ganda ng L.A. Noire. Kaso I had to crack my original copy to make it work. Eng-eng yung copy protection ng Rockstar eh.

I was actually choosing between L.A. Noire and Arkham City, kaso paborito ko kasi yung mga games/movies set in the 30s and 40s kaya L.A. Noire yung pinili ko. And technically it's still Assassin's Creed 2. Assassin's Creed 3 will be released sometime next year. Ganda ending ng Revelations. ;)

I expect to go over level 50 doing the main quest lines and a decent amount of sidequests.

I think it's better to create a different character to follow a different storyline and make different decisions compared to your first playthrough.

Ah ganun. Pag na reach mo na yung last level kunwari., or last boss, meron bang more difficult level after nun?

thats the weird thing with Skyrim ... with games like Diablo, you are concerned about "build efficiency" and you wanna know if you can survive Hell Difficulty, or be able to farm the hardest, most difficult boss.

with skyrim, the difficulty level is set at about level 40 ... after you are level 40, and you are used to the combat style, everything wont be hard... especially if you have perks in one hand combat, and/or archery (the basic warrior arsenal), and you already know the attack style of the main quest bosses.

i think skyrim focused more on role-playing, as opposed to giving you more difficult enemies - proof of that is you are unable to kill the same boss over and over again ala most RPG games ... after you have killed all the main bosses, i think thats it. you wont be killing anymore unique bosses, and you will be left with killing giants and dragons in your randomly generated side quests.

you can still challenge yourself by setting the difficulty level to "master" ... the opponents will have more HP and some will gain additional spells, but other than that, the combat styling will still be the same.

lol i am currently level 39 and i just realized i have not focused on any of the quests! lol i got to level 39 from doing side quests that look interesting and jumping from one story line to another

-*-

i wonder... ano yung mga "essential side quests" na nagawa nyo? yung tipong the rewards are AWESOME!

mine are:

-a night to remember (yung quest that will start if you get to a drinking contest with Sam)

-forbidden legends (yung quest makuha mo while following the main quest line ng College of Winterhold... reward mo dyan is an amulet that gives +30 to all stats... and a sword you can Disenchant to learn LIFE LEECH)

-*-

about companions/followers:

Marcurio is the follower that can kill things the fastest.

follower ko ngayon si J'zargo, and he isn't half as fast as Marcurio when killing things... however, i realized, that i get to kill more things with J'zargo around, compared to Marcurio, where he kills everything for me and doesn't let me level up lol

so yun, if gusto mo mag level up sa skills, get J'zargo (great AI pathing and rarely blocks your way, plus he uses decent destruction spells. he usually uses the basic lightning spell and i don't see him dual casting) ... and if you wanna let someone do all the work for you, get Marcurio (his pathing isnt as great as J'zargo, but he dual casts fireball, and chain lightning with matching stagger and knockback abilities - i also noticed he doesn't run out of mana, but there are times he'd bring out a 2-handed weapon and pound the guys at melee range)

yah, you can find the book there and start the quest (something i missed)... pero with the college, it is IMPOSSIBLE to miss the quest, hehehe... for one thing, you are fighting one of the "legends" in one of the first quests.

great early level quest din... imagine, a life-leeching sword and a +30 to all stats. the other rewards of the quest are crappy though (i sold them, hehe)

I played that quest early game (i was level 20 i think) It was a pain in the ass and it took me some time to finish it. Plus di ko pa ugali mag save ng mag save dati, so pag namamatay ako na nakalimutan ko mag-save, madalas pag pasok ko sa isang place ulit yung bagsak ko. hehe. ok yung quest na "mace of molog bal. kakatakot lol tapos may "Hostel" characteristic because

*SPOILER*

it involves you beating someone "to submission" while he is in a cage lol

yung title ng quest is "House of Horrors" and located yun sa "abandoned house" sa Markath.

the reward?

1.) Mace of Mologbal - very cool mace that drains some enemy stats and casts SOUL TRAP on them
2.) you get the house - yun nga lang, theres no freaking way i am staying in that creepy house lol

not bad considering the boss in the quest is a simple Forsworn Mage

ok, it just dawned upon me... all the Daedric Quests are EVIL lol its too bad because i just became Arch Mage of Winterhold, being a hero and all.

i thought they were just about getting powerful items, but damn ... some of the things you have to do are just too evil, and the thing is, i noticed that i do the Daedric Quests more than the main ones just because the rewards are a lot more fun.

here's another spoiler:

-there is a Daedric Quest where you have to be a CANNIBAL. yes, you will be eating a priest ...

it makes the "mace of mologbal" rather tame actually.

-*-

i wish someone would make a mod where you can choose between an evil or good character... where choosing one will CLOSE OUT the quests of the other...

i mean, its weird, being a hero of the people and all, and you still have the option to do things like sacrifice your follower.... or after liberating people from the civil war, it turns out you are an assasin of the Dark Brotherhood.

It's a nice change actually. Galing kasi ako sa SW:KotoR eh so there's a clear distinction between what's good and evil. Sa Skyrim totally grey. It's hard to be totally good and totally evil.

the skyrim open world is really OPEN to a lot of possibilities, including modding out your own storyline using the random quests ...

you can create a Diablo II mod out of it using Alduin as Diablo lol ... and maybe a giant frost spider with a Daedric face as Baal lol

I started playing it a few hours ago.  I'm not on level 6 and have become a Dragonborn.

hehehe, you should stray a bit... like explore and kill things you shouldnt be killing, hahaha.

if you do that, youd get dialog options like:

NPC: oh hail dragon born, i have a problem, a giant is harassing me and has taken a valuable sword. will you help me get it back?

You: sure bro! what sword is it?

NPC: the sword of fire!

You: oh,  is that the same giant from forest of horrors thing?

NPC: yes! howd you know?

You: i killed him on the way here, and i disenchanted your sword to learn the fire enchantment... sorry bro, i did kill the giant though

NPC: you suck

You: and oh, i kinda need to sacrifice a guy for my daedric Ebony Blade ... is there anyone around?

NPC: hmmm, not really, were both alone actually... so who will the guy be?

You: chops NPC's head

the end

-*-

things get fun when you are level 20 since a lot of the Daedric quests open up. and oh, are you in that part where you have to go this mountain? its one loooooong trip. im glad im done with it lol

-*-

eating a priest i tricked is a bit too much for me lol but id probably do it because im the type of guy who wants to DO EVERY QUEST in the game and get all the achievements lol

XD

Meron ba sa inyong nag lagay ng perks for pickpocketing? Worth it ba?

no!

i used 2 perk points, and i want my perks back! hahaha...

my pickpocketing is the first skill that went to 100 ... its really easy to level up.

you wont be facing a lot of enemies where you can use the best pickpocket skill (stealing their clothes and weapons)... although, you can have weird fun by taking off all the clothes of the ppl in skyrim.

turn whiterun into Rio or something lol

i found less than 10 :( ... so right now im not doing anything else but the main quest

Both makukuha sa umpisa palang.

got two characters, parehas Nord, one is a Light Armor One Hand / Semi Archer Build, yung isa Heavy Armor two handed Hammer(or Waraxe) / semi destruction/restoration, i will probably create a full mage next time.. unless i took an arrow in the knee..  :D

XD
*SPOILER*
Saka yung "Call of Valor", I usually finish the main quest early before the civil war quests just to see my "pet dragon" unleash hell on those stormcloak rebels haha

haha, saken nga laging naka hotkey yung Whirlwind Sprint ... yung 2nd shout ko is Slow Time.

yah! i got that Dragon Soul absorb bug too ... it happened after i killed the dragon and it was rolling down the hills, i  chased it and looted it but no soul came out of it lol

the assassin armor looks really cool... i have yet to start both thieves and assassins quest... concentrate muna ako sa main.

one more thing, have you guys noticed that sneaking is close to useless in dungeons? out of 10 enemies, i only stealth kill one guy lol ... and im at 100 sneak

Where did you get the wooden mask? sa Labyrinthian? Both characters have 4 I think, annoying kalaban yung mga Dragon Priest na yan e, pero I found a trick para maging useless sila, as in useless, harmless little pricks haha. It involves an item na reward sa College of winterhold quest.

@IncX
Baka naka Heavy Armor ka, You can try using a Boots with a Muffle "Enchantment" or lagyan mo yung perk na may reduction sa noise ng armor.

Sa Dark Brotherhood Quest naman, pwede mo tapusin ng maaga yun or mag ala goodboy character ka by killing Astrid, tapos magsumbong ka sa guard (kahit saang guard). You'll get the quest "Destroy the Dark Brotherhood", did it with "Yngval" cause he's an angry fellow hehe, downside is you wont get the Immortal "Shadowmere" and Lucien Lachance from Oblivion.

im actually wearing all light armor since i was supposed to be a stealth archer... yun nga lang, my play style is more typical "diablo style" - bring out the double daggers for anyone i can reach, while drinking potions all the way lol and Bows for those i cant lol

i only stealth kill NPCs ... sometimes i need grand souls, so i just stealth kill a guard in whiterun (they dont run out of new guards, haha).

-*-

yung character ko, sobrang confused na lol both good and bad ... so i think ill join the dark brotherhood and the thieves guild, since i steal everything i can anyway lol

-*-

i only have 1 dragon priest mask ... apart from the boss in Labyrinthian, may iba pa pala? ... i do hope i wont have to go in there again... Labyrinthian is the worse dungeon ever, far worse than going to Blackreach (sa main quest)!

mahirap ba yung dragon priests? kasi yung sa labyrinthian, parang madali lang, i just summoned a Dremora and sniped with bows from a distance. i ddnt even know how the boss died, haha.

-*-

im planning my next character... a girl vampire, hehe... i even planned out which quests to do. obviously, ill be avoiding the main quest, haha, and concentrate on getting daedric artifacts, and feeding on people.

most likely ill be maxing out and putting perks in Pickpocket, and Sneak while wearing a lot of fire resist stuff. ill concentrate on Illusion spells most likely and have a little on Conjuration (for tank)... and eventually i wont have a companion

my main weapon is obviously, the Ebony Blade (blood drinking, haha)

Blades ako... from sword to complete set of armor.. parang Samurai talaga. Pero ngayon yung Nightingale armor gamit for the a quest sa Thieves Guild.

Nasa mountain sya eh, forgot the name. Basta may dragon dun, at may word wall.

killed Alduin dead...

lol speed questing! ... did you use that Dragon's Bane sword?

i just killed alduin today... after you get the Dragonrend shout, all the dragons are easy. the hardest dragon fight i had was in Riverwood. all the guards were dead from previous attacks and for some reason, J'zargo was lost in the wood and couldn't help me (he is good live bait).

the damned dragon never landed... always perching on roofs for one fire-breath and flying again to a different roof. i ran to an open ground and it never landed still and instead fire-breathed me in mid-air lol i summoned a Flame Atronarch, but its timer expires before my mana recharges, making it a useless bait.

i finally found myself in an arch in the bridge where he couldnt get a clear shot of me. i hid there, popped out before it could fire-breath, popped an arrow, and hit under the bridge again.

this took like 30 minutes since i could only get one shot in lol ... eventually i brought it down to 1/4 life and it eventually landed. whew!

Alduin never fought like that, he just sat there while 3 guys, me and my companion hacked him lol

-*-

im currently doing the Thieves Guild ...

-*-

gunlak: the main quest is the "good guy quest" ... fulfill your destiny as Dragonborn lol

and, you can skip a lot of quests if you like... depends on how you role-play your character.

i am used to getting every single quests in the game (i mean, all the games reward you when you get all the quests, right? lol) ... and i ended up with a very very confused character; he kills innocent people, but is a respected archmage in winterhold. he is a thief, steals everything worth stealing, yet he is the renowned Dragonborn who killed Alduin lol

the next character i'd start will be more consistent lol as for now, i just wanna do all the quests to see what quests i will NOT DO with my next character lol

-*-

whoa! cool masks! ... i only have 3 :( ... they are great masks with nice stats on them, they look cool in robes too. something tells me i'd be keeping my full dragon armor set in the chest soon lol

I either call on Odahving, or the heroes when I fight Dragons.  The one at Riverwood does go fly roof to roof, but somewhat landed near where I was at (and my horse, killing it).  Odahving helped a lot.

what frustrates me is when i get "stuck" in between rocks where jumping or sliding off is impossible (I like running straight to the objective point, looking for short cuts in between), and I wasn't able to do a manual save.  Over a sloping cliff, you can actually run sideways all the way down down, without falling to your death.  You can also do that horse-mounted, but it's trickier.

i havent used Odahving cause i have no room for hotkeys anymore lol ....  it took me forever to even get to the part where i learn Dragonrend lol maybe thats why i had a crappy time with dragons.

im trying to get "Arnel's Shade" right now ... i read that it costs zero mana to cast and is immune to both physical and magical damage. if it works out right, my Sanguine Rose and Dremora meat shields will be getting a well deserved break lol

iero: you can sneak up on dragons?!?!

also, currently... i am learning to use sneak lol ... the reason why i always get caught back then was because of stupid J'zargo and his heavy armor... but after giving him a necklace that adds 35% to sneak, were both doing ninja kills, hehe.

I had to keep shooting arrows at the first dragon from within the tower near the door, letting the NPCs distract it till it's health was low and couldn't fly anymore.  Then I went up the tower, and continued shooting it, avoiding its flames by moving back.

When I got Dragonrend, the first thing I do is use it to bring a dragon down, and shoot arrows continuously, and either with Lydia or a hero distracting it, I attack it from the side or from behind with the Dragonbane.

After I've done the Thieves Guild quest, I'll do the Companions.

You'll get the Dragonrend even before you kill Alduin (after you read the Elder Scroll at the Time Fracture and "sends" you back in time).  Getting it early on helps a ton on handling the other dragons (especially those guarding the portal).  I found the Blood and Elder Dragons difficult to kill, even with Dragon rend, but the named ones were rather "easy."

in the early levels, yes... but if you Wikipedia the quests, you can actually find Heavy Armor items that have sneak type stats on them. i think you can find boots with Muffle on them (im thinking they are heavy boots), add that with Boethia's Ebony Mail, and i think you already have a stealth character there. the ones that make the most noise are the chest armor and boots.

sneak is also very easy to power level. i suggest you only power level it when you are level 30 or something... levelling it too early wouldnt do you well because youd still get caught most of the time.

im level 49, and im having a lot of success with sneak ... i also got the Throw Voice dragon shout, and matched that with Ebony Mail and sneak necklace for my companion, i can sneak snipe groups of dungeon enemies now (especially humans and even bosses that arent dragons), hehe. normal thing to do is Throw Voice on a room to know if anyones there, memorize their locations, then start sneak sniping them with a Bow.

-*-

ML: my first dragon battle was rather easy... it wasnt targetting me at all, so i just hacked it till it died.

i had an interesting bug awhile ago... so this Ancient Dragon was attacking me... i dragonrended it and started chopping it with Mace of Molog Bal (soul trap mace) ... and it died really fast, i wasnt able to soul trap it but i absorbed its soul... a few seconds after it died, ANOTHER DRAGON attacked me, and it had the same name, stats and even loot! ... it was really weird. i fought the damn thing twice! it only left 1 "dead body" but i was able to absorb 2 dragon souls and had 2 sets of loot that were the same... weird

-*-

noobie: im also doing that, but i wasnt able to power level Enchantment... and i also took the offense side of the Enchantment Perk tree, hehe... i was thinking my defense was enough since im having a lot of success being a Sneak Archer lately.

Want to level Sneak fast?
Here >> Backstab the Greybeards while sneaking, it should give you 1 level/ per backstab kung below 40, just use Iron Daggers, mabilis regen nila and hindi sila namamatay, just remember to stay hidden para mag count, and set the difficulty to master

Nasa inyo na yan kung gagawin nyo, 100 Sneak skill level in less than 30 mins  :-D

hehehe, yah... madali talaga i power-level ang sneak especially with exploits...

i tried playing fair, pero honestly ... sobrang tagal. i think they have to fix it.... dapat mas mataas ang experience points pag ginawa mo sa Hostiles (like 4 levels up pag dagger and 1/2 level up pag bow).

with what they are doing now, its near impossible to level Sneak up fairly.

The Stormcloaks (w/ your help as a stormcloak) would capture all the major towns around Skyrim including Markarth. Resulting with the guards being Stormcloak soldiers.

i havent done the Forsworn quest in Markearth ... i did not like the reward much lol

im bouncing Dark Brotherhood quests and daedra quests now... i currently only need 3 Daedric items to get the oblivion walker achievement.

the Dark Brotherhood quests are a lot more fun the THieves Guild... i also like the house of the DB better... and i love listening to their stories and random conversations. Babbete is definitely a take from Interview with the Vampire's, Claudia

just discovered a bug: Falmer Helmets stack with Dragon Priest masks .... i found out because i was collecting Falmer armor and i gave it to my companion... when i checked his inventory he was equiping the falmer helmet, yet i see him wearing the Dragon Priest mask too.

so i took it out, enchanted the falmer helmet with %damage to bow, and wore it on top of my Krosis mask for a total of 46% extra damage to bows ... the down side is that upon reloading, my character was HEADLESS except for a falmet helmet (the helmet looks like a spider's face lol) ... and since it was so cool, i did not mind. im now faceless with spider eyes lol

-*-

i currently increased the difficulty of my game to expert, which means i wont be standing toe-to-toe with big guys anymore lol i have a pretty good idea with what to do with mage builds:

-you should have a Sanguine Rose... a dremora is the cheapest and best melee summon. this has a bug though, if you get the perk where you can conjure 2 atronarchs, that perk will make the staff not cast dremora's anymore.

-get the double cast perk so you can stun lock most bosses.

-always sneak in dungeons and use the Throw Voice shout in open spaces to reveal enemy locations. meaning, it is important that you move fast (light armor or get the Stone ability where you can run normally despite wearing heavy or light armor)

-get your enchanting UP so you can get enchant your gear with %reduction to destruction spells while increasing mana regen

-the Become Etheral shout is your best friend, when you are cornered, this is your escape.

-it is important that you get a very tough follower... Marcurio has strong spells, and he does not run away from close encounters.

that's all i can think of ATM...

-*-

i tried MASTER difficulty and my first test was facing 2 dragons! an ancient and a blood dragon decided to attack a town together for some reason.

it was near impossible really. the Ancient Dragon was tough as hell and would always find ways to land near me and kill me with its single bite attack... and while i am watching out for him, the blood dragon would be carpet bombing me with fire attacks (the ancient dragon has frost attack)...

needless to say, i gave up and set the game to Expert. it was fun, the challenge was just right... and i killed both dragons... the dragons killed 12 town guards in the process though. really tough

Good stuff IncX. :D

Sayang lang hindi na ako nakakalaro nito.

hope you'd get a copy soon bro.. its really worth it, you have stories to tell after each gaming session, hehe

-*-

highlights of my game today were:

1.) picking up the "ancient assassin armor" and falling into the middle of a forsworn camp! now, forsworn camps are like little towns, except everyone is hostile, and you will be facing 7-10 guys coming at you in different directions. first thing i did was Storm Call'd everyone, and when the fighting was done, my Jzargo was dead lol so i had to reload.

this time it involved a lot of running (this was in expert mode, and one power swing from a Briar is game over) ... life saver was the "Become Etheral" shout, it allowed you to pick a place with the least hostiles, and you can summon your posse. best summon to use here was again, the Dremora since he attracts aggro... the thing is, he died a lot, so by the end of the battle, my staff was almost depleted. it wasnt good summoning Arnel's Shade since he doesnt attract any aggro at all... same with Call of Valor. the heroes have spells like Flee in their attacks and it just makes everything confusing, not to mention, i am shoutless for the duration of the cool down, meaning, i am dead when a Briar finds and corners me - which happened

2.) battle with an ancient dragon. for some reason, this dragon always aims his fire blast at me... and at expert mode, it can kill really really fast (for the first time, i started using my stock of extreme healing potions, and i chugged about 10). it took quite awhile and A LOT of reloads, but i eventually killed the dragon. Best summon here was Arnel's Shade. he can tank the dragon, not to mention he attracts a lot of aggro with his mix of range and melee attacks.

pero, i find that perk useless because my skyrim wife sells lockpicks and right now, i have 300 lockpicks lol ... i pick all the master locks i can! haha

Aim your crosshair a bit farther to the direction where your opponent is moving. Kung mejo malayo, aim a bit lower than your target, like on top of your crosshair. :) Hope that helps. ganyan lang technique ko with my archery.
Title: Re: Skyrim?
Post by: IncX on January 13, 2012, 02:56:13 AM
the only problem i have with Skyrim Hotkeys is that there is no way to specifically assign weapons or spells on your right hand. its pretty buggy ... here is an example.

1 = Bow
2 =Sword
3 = dagger
4 = spell

assuming i wanna start with Bow, i press 1, and i get bow...

assuming i wanna switch to one hand weapon, i press 2 and i get sword on my left hand and whatever default spell, weapon, staff i last used on my right hand.

now, if i wanna dual wield and i press 2 for sword and 3 for dagger, there's the problem.  my right hand NEVER switches... when pressing 3 i end up with left hand dagger and right hand, whatever spell or weapon i last used.

HOWEVER, if i press 4  two times, my left and right hand ends up switching to spells. in relation to this bug, if you have a weapon thats grouped under the same name, pressing it twice will get you to Dual Wield! ... however, if you enchant or improve them thru smithing, they won't be grouped under the same name and you wont be able to dual wield them anymore... and oh, avoid giving the same to your enchanted items, cause one of them will disappear after a few weapon switches

the problem with the hotkey is that it does not favor dual wielding ... so instead, what i do is that i NEVER switch out my right hand... in that way, its always Sword on my right ... unless it gets mess up when i accidentally press a One-Hand Weapon and Spell combination.

-*-

potions and Dragon Shouts/Powers are problem free. try not to depend on potions though, they are not as common, unless you visit vendors often ... one trip can usually get you 2-3 potions on average.

counter strike style ... aim them on where you think they will be. its not as easy though, since you still have to hold the button for more than 1 second so you'd get a good range out of your bow

Shrine of Mehrunes Dagon, 4 daedra hearts every 7 days. Just kill the daedra first. then loot it.

I've finished the Companions quest.  Any of you guys experienced the Farkas glitch?  The guy won't stop talking, saying "I'd rather not stand here talking all day."

I was only able to counter it by getting Lydia to follow me after the first job.  But before that, it got so annoying I quit Skyrim.

Even with Lydia following in the preceding jobs, he keeps babbling nonsense every time I'm at the Companion's keep.  And when he follows, I couldn't initiate a Fast Travel.

Kinda reminds me of something here which keeps babbling even when it's being ignored.

i replaced my follower J'zargo with Mjoll the Lioness because i got curious .... and wow, shes a lot more effective at killing things. i also like the part that she doesn't charge head on when i am sneaking and instead uses a bow to snipe too.

incidentally, if you give her a bow and 1 daedric arrow, shes gonna end up with infinite daedric arrows, and you can collect them on the stuff she shoots.

i just collected all dragon priest masks, and after getting 100 enchantment, im really really strong lol no more sneaking around, i just charge in a room and do my whirlwind dance of doom with Mehrunes' Dagger on the right and either Dawnstar (for undead) or Chillrend (for non-undead) on my left

i enchanted a crapload of bonus damage to both one hand and bow... and to think i did not even use any of the Alchemy stuff... just simple smithing and enchantmen,

and oh, i also found out that enchanting a dagger with a petty soul gem levels up your enchantment just as much as when you use a grand soul gem lol ... i wasted about 15 Black Soul gems before finding out

i did not bother using Windshear, cause when i have that on, even a Dragon becomes as dangerous as a goat.

The Markath bug is not a bug.  It's a quest, where you were deliberately framed, and the only way to actually get out of it is to get into jail and escape.

i have yet to do this... im trying to finish the Thieves Guild minor quests ... they are so boring... just going from one place to another.

the Save function makes pickpocket and breaking into people's houses moot ... cant get it the first time? reload!

The bug is, even after you have completed the quest, markath guards still arrest you. You have no choice but to fight them.

ill try Master Difficulty later since currently at expert, i can do stupid things like charge head straight into a dragon's fire ... fight 5 enemies at once (without drinking a potion) ...

the last time i tried Master Difficulty, my equipment wasnt as strong, and i got annoyed because the dragon kept 1 shot killing me ... after dying 10x in a row with the dragn 1 shot killing me, i lowered the difficulty to expert and it was manageable...

IMO, after you get 100 enchanting, 100 smithing and 100 one hand combat ... the game becomes easy. although still, i will be able to test my theories at Master difficulty later.

The thing with Master difficulty is that you can't fight a dragon face to face without a shield, it will eat you alive.  With normal enemies, you can just sneak kill them.

Plus you level up way faster in Master difficulty.  :-P

haha, i'll find out ... im currently running with 586 armor rating, and 1 hand damage of 278 on my chillrend and something like 148 on my Mehrunes' Razor.

Marked For Death is an awesome shout... tag the dragon once, and its health bar goes down really fast. i tagged it twice before and Arnel's Shade (summon) tagged it with chain lightning once, and it took out 1/4 of its life... it fell down dead in mid air! lol

light armor ... when you get to high levels, it becomes easy to reach the armor cap regardless if its light or heavy,

-*-

damn, just read an article that Marked For Death PERMANENTLY weakens the armor of followers... i guess that explains why Mjoll dies in ONE HIT from most enemy power attacks and that's also why i dont see Shadowmere around - i accidentally tagged him with Marked for Death and he must have gotten 1 shot killed by my arrow or something

OK, spent a few hours in master difficulty ... i'm still very strong, but i cant play as carelessly like i used to.

while i havent died, i almost died fighting 4 mages who for some reason know my weakness is shock damage, so they just focused chain lightning on me ... i would have died if i did not switched to one of my anti-lightning rings

so naka Adept nalang muna siya ngayon.. last part na ko ng Dark Brotherhood quest, sunod na yung main.

i finished the Companion's Quest, and it sucked ... i only have one left: the Civil War quest

i've been taking my time doing all the active quests in my journal, just because i want it to look clean lol

im also traveling solo now, because chain sneak killing with a dagger is really cool (you can chain sneak kill 2-3 guys if you time it right) ... and a level 3 storm call shout just kills everything!

its also cool to kill dragons in mid-air. did it twice tonight lol ... tag the dragon with "marked for death" and let it fly around for a few seconds... the longer you leave it, the weaker its armor gets till you can one shot it with an arrow and take 1/4 of its life - even if its an Ancient Dragon.

i have the best gear with 96% resist in everything (using a Lord Stone blessing) ....

im thinking i'll be done with the game before March... i only have 4 more achievements to go... 3 of them i can get via Civil War Quest, and the last one is the hardest - read 50 skill books!

heres a cool screenshot:

have you noticed that mages are just too underpowered in skyrim?

i mean, take this for instance, here are the ways you can increase weapon damage:

-leveling up specific weapon
-smithing
-enchanting
-hit the opponent with Marked For Death (a very easy spell to hotkey cause it doesnt take up weapon space)
-sneak attacks

here are the ways to increase magic damage:

-leveling up specific magic tree
-hitting the opponent with one of those aversion potions

that's it.

and lets not take into account that the only way an enemy  can resist weapon damage is thru armor, and a lot of enemies have poor armor. while in the case of magic, most enemies are resistant to frost and fire, while they do not take as much shock damage. it means youll be doing a lot of magic shifting.

also, the master destruction spells are too slow to cast to ever be practical.

and finally, when you run out of magicka, you cannot do anything but be a punching bag ... when you run out of stamina, you can still swing weapons, albeit not do any power attacks - still a far cry from being defenseless.

sometimes, im convinced that if you wanna make Skyrim more difficult than Master Difficulty, you should be playing a mage.

I'm just upping my stats now (70), maxing out my smithing and enchanting skills, and making lots of armor (I'll be able to make Daedric and Dragon Armors soon).  I can do 1-hit sneak kills with either Mehrune's Razor or my own Dragon Ebony Sword with Lightning Damage and Soul Trap, and 1-hit power-slashes with the Glass Greatsword of Burning (which I could not do with my Dragon Ebony Great Sword with soul trap. I guess extra burn/frost/lighting damage helps).

Then I'll do the civil war quest.

Can't do a decent screenshot of my kewl kills yet though...

making Iron daggers increases your smithing just as much as making dragon armors, hehehe... same thing with enchanting and petty soul gems.

i wasted a lot of Grand Soul Gems thinking they'd make me level up faster, hehe.

That's what I did.  I've enchanted daggers, shields, rings, circlets and amulets with petty soul gems (which I have a lot).  I've smithed a few daggers and short swords, refined them, enchanted them, and sold them later on.  The back and forth are tiring and bores me at times (especially when the load times between doors take "forever"), but it's a fast way of upping stats.  I have neglected other skill sets, since I focused mainly on smithing and enchanting, plus the armor and battle skills.

Sneak-killing is the BOMB.  No more lengthy battles with tougher opponents.
Title: Re: Skyrim?

yeah I have to agree on the mage thing, what I did on my first char (81 high elf) was I enchanted my stuff to remove the magicka cost of destruction spells
those master destruction spells are quite useless given their cast time and their one off damage.. you can deal more damage with the AoE adept and expert spells.
you also have to be cautious when bringing followers coz they're likely to get killed anyways. i've killed uthgerd and the bald guy coz of AoE spells.

being a mage was quite boring compared to my character now which is a sneak type/upfront khajiit. But it's easier to kill dragons with my mage.

==============

just made full sets of Daedric armor for me and my companion. (2nd char, 37 khajiit)

yah! i got that Dragon Soul absorb bug too ... it happened after i killed the dragon and it was rolling down the hills, i  chased it and looted it but no soul came out of it lol

I experienced this twice, while I had the Kahvozein's Fang (the dagger used to carve out Dragon Heart Scales) in my inventory (a quest related to Tolfdir).  When I removed it, it was back to normal.

ohhh... cool weapon, i still dont have that!

It's of the Dragon Priest weapon class.  I found a similar dagger, but didn't pick it up, during my mask hunt.  I have all 9 flavors.

---

I've finished the Civil War Quest, with the Stormcloaks.  Shadowmere is pretty handy in distracting enemy soldiers, since it's immortal.  I usually let the soldiers fight amongst themselves, and hit enemies from behind, or, when isolated, I strike twice, run, then strike another, then back.  Marked for Death is useful when they're bunched together coming at you, and they become easy pickings, even for my allies.

Now that that's done, I'll make all sorts of armor.  I've bought Hjerim at Windhelm.  Though it's only two floors high, it's about 3x wider than Proudspire Manor, squarish, and has about 4 mannequins, and an option for an Armory.

I still have about 30K worth of gold, which I got from selling jewels and jewelry, enhanced weapons that I picked up in later miscellaneous and Thane quests (falmers and draugrs have been dropping expensive ebony weapons), Dark brotherhood missions, and my charater's wife Ysolda, whose biggest earning given to me was around 4K. The trick is waiting a lot, especially when you've reached an objective point at night where every friggin house is closed.

My battle skills, smithing and enchanting are now at 100 (heavy armor, with enhancements, are at 140, Light armor, at 110), but I can't get my armor rating past 500 (as I've read, is pretty useless since anything above 500 is disregarded by the system).  I think I need to make armor and gear specifically for smithing.

hehe, do that and you'd be bumping the difficulty level to master... the only disadvantage in Master is that i cannot one shot sneak kill with bows anymore, but fully upgraded weapons made with +Smithing clothes and a +50% to smithing potion gets your stuff up to ridiculous levels - although not as ridiculous as one-shot killing Draugr Deathlords lol

im currently trying to get my Alchemy to 100 ... it is hard, it requires NOTES lol since you have to get the potion with the most effects (doesnt matter if they are positive and negative effects all at once), to get more XP points.

i havent started the Civil War Quest... its probably the last quest i have in the game, and i wanna come out OP lol

I think I was able to pick up an alchemy recipe book somewhere, but since I don't really mix my own potions too much (I either pick up I find especially on later levels where almost everything is near maxed out or just buy when I'm at the shops), I haven't really read it, and my alchemy has stayed low.  Maybe I'll use one of the exploits to max the rest of my skills out.

Guys ask ko lang kung meron pa ba na level dependent na quest like The Man Who Cried Wolf to The Wolf Queen Awakened?

Yes.  level dependent quests, like some Daedric quests, become available as soon as you hit the required level.

hmmm, i think yung mga courier related na quests ay dependent sa pag level up... still not sure though.

i completed everything in Skyrim... 99% achievement... i only need to read 5 more books for 100% achievement lol

i think i need to start a new character cause the job quests are boring. it takes me 2 seconds to kill a giant in master difficulty and longer for ancient dragons since they fly around.

and yes, the Civil War quests sucked... its just about you killing as many simple opponents as much as possible ... all of them die in 1 shot to my arrows and i never took any real damage.

i rank the quests as, highest ranking to lowest:

1.) Main Quest - its the best since the storyline is a lot more involved and you wont be doing anything tedious and repetitive. you'll usually be fighting undead and dragons here.

2.) Daedric Quests - i would have rank it number one, except its not a real quest line but rather, something you have to look for in the skyrim world. there are 15 all in all ... the items are cool, and you get to check out different story angles.

3.) Dark Brotherhood - very cool ending. and i love all of the characters.

4.) College of Winterhold - not really as good, but just because it has a Harry Potter thing to it, and i find myself "talking" to almost all of the characters just to hear their stories.

5.) Thieves Guild - i did not like this quest since it involved doing tedious and repetitive stuff. the best thing about this quest is that you get Chillrend... a Glass Sword with better base damage than a daedric sword.

6.) Companions - very good intro, but everything else sucked... from the rewards to the storyline.

7.) Civil War - bad storyline angle ... and the quests are just tedious... i could cast Storm Call and just wait for everything to die.

stuff like The Blades, i dont consider them quests... just side missions.

i did not include "searching for Dragon Priest Masks and Dragon Shouts" because they arent real quest lines... they are just stuff you do to get rewards. they are OK ... youd be fighting a lot of undead and there were times it got boring that i just wanted it to end. i dont like long dungeons at all

i recommend that one complete everything before taking on the final main quest... it would feel good fighting Alduin as an overpowered level 58-er in Master difficulty

Oh I already hit the ceiling, Level 81... Sana wala ng quest like The Wolf Queen Awakened which is level-up dependent quest. I find Dark Brotherhood quest the best so I'm saving it for last. After a Dragonrend and a few hack and slash... it's over.

If it's in your chest, no one will bother knocking at your door with a warrant.  If it's in your inventory, and you either get arrested or paid your bounty, it'll be taken from you.

Later on in the game, there's a perk called "Master Merchant" that allows you to trade stolen goods.  I don't steal anything unless it's part of the mission, and I do have some I stole by accident (I was picking up another item, but picked that instead, and forgot about it).

thanks! will backread thoroughly later...

a couple of questions:
- yung sa thief quest line ba need mong magpalit ng weapons dun? kasi wala akong balak...i'll be sticking with my 2-handed weapon kasi...and kaya me interested dito is yung unbreeakable lock pick hehe...

- anu yung level 81 glitch?

- can i yield 2 swords? or isang dagger tapos isang 1-handed sword?

What do you mean?  I always bring an assortment of weapons, each with fire, frost, shock, and other extra damage, for different enemies with different immunities.  When you see a fire-wielder, use frost weapons and vice versa.

- anu yung level 81 glitch?

It's an exploit to get you at level 81 fast, but at that level, you become almost invincible, making the game boring.

- can i yield 2 swords? or isang dagger tapos isang 1-handed sword?

That's three questions, regardless, so as long as both weapons are single-handed, you can dual weild.

onga sorry na nadagdagan pa hehe...

sa first question - what i mean is since nasa thief questline ka and stealth siguro yung nature ng quests mo having a 2-handed weapon would make it harder to complete...

You don't necessarily have to go through all questlines with one character/playthrough. I created a thief character to go through different questlines para hindi magulo yung stats and story nung two-hander character ko.

yes, the combo is called "spell sword" ... just equip your left hand with magic and your right with a 1 handed weapon

The disadvantage of not wielding a shield is your armor rating goes down as much as the shield's rating (and whatever additional boost it may have). Shield's are especially useful at close quarters combat, bashing an enemy gives that crucial second or to to land a critical hit.  Unless you intend to saturate your enemies with fire and frost spells at a distance, a shield is essential.

I find this combination useful:  Dual wielding is best for light armor.  Shield + Sword for both light and heavy armor.  Two-handed weapons for heavy armor (the heavy armor compensates for the absence of the shield, and my two handed weapon have a block bonus).  I rarely use Spell + Sword combos, hence my magic hasn't really gone up.  Mages have a disadvantage, unless one makes a heavy armor with magic bonuses.

If there are 4 or more enemies, I always snipe first and thin the herd down (or at least, get their health down significantly), before coming in with 2H sword.  In dungeons, 1-hit sneak attack with Mehrune's Razor is the best.

Is there a way to get back the Unbreakable Lockpick?

no, but it never is a problem... especially since your wife sells a lot of lockpicks, and the fences in the Thieves Guild 30 or more ... i actually have 1000 lock picks before i realized i probably cant use all of them lol

-*-

i think i am done with skyrim.

i am waiting for them to release a new DLC... after you finish the main quest and the guild quests, there really isn't anything to do anymore.

Skyrim does not have a rare weapon worth farming ... it doesnt have a new boss worth fighting ... and all the quests become repetitive.

so for now, i am done with Skyrim :( ... i tried playing a new character, but it wasnt as fun as the first time

The skeleton key was nice to have, but I really don't find lockpicking in Skyrim to be that hard. I just bring 100+ lockpicks just to be sure. Haha.

Pareho tayo IncX. I stopped playing Skyrim months ago. Got tired of it. Finished the main quests. Waiting for new DLC to drop before I play again.

Funny.. I only checked in now. haha former Oblivion player/addict here. Kaso I only got Skyrim nung Dec.

Currently at Lvl 50, stealthy character. Mostly bow and dagger. Love sniping. Done with Dark Brotherhood & Thieves Guild *almost*  (di yung last mission kasi gusto ko yung unbreakable pick). Not yet done with the main quest for some reason.. I just got so distracted by the world. Argonian (weird nga tingnan) since I was always jealous of the water-breathing nila nung Oblivion (which I apparently don't really need in Skyrim that much).  I have one of the DB as my follower, with a tricked out full set of legendary daedric + a daedric sword na enchanted with some fire damage.

No cheats - I'm a PS3 player :) pinaka "cheat" na siguro yung pag grind ko for blacksmithing. I wanted that dragon armor right away. haha

Just finished playing this blasted game. Finished all of the faction quests, collected 15 Daedric artifacts, finished most, if not all, of the small side quests, etc. My character is a level 50 Wood Elf (Bosmer). I didn't bother with the Daedric/Dragonscale/Dragon armors anymore. I have an all-Ebony armor set (Exquisite). The helmet is enchanted with Peerless Archery, the body armor has -20% less Restoration/+100% (yata) magicka regen, the gauntlets have either Peerless Archery or Peerless Deft Hands, and the boots are enchanted with Lifting (extra capacity). My weapons are an Ebony Bow of Fiery Sould Trap (exquisite) and an Ebony Greatsword of Shock (exquisite). I also crafted Rings and Necklaces of Peerless Archery and Peerless Deft Hands. My character is all-out offensive. Bulok ang Magicka defense. Haha. I'm already quite happy with my bow's attack rating (153 or so) plus Sneak Attack X3 damage. With an Elixir of True Shot, mga 5-6 hits lang, patay na ang Ancient Dragons.

I'm a pretty busy guy, but holy smokes, naubos ang oras ko sa larong to. Nawalan pa ako ng social life for more than a month. Grabe. I'm now suffering from post-Skyrim withdrawal syndrome. PHEW!

Madami rin kasing shops dun so madali magbenta ng mga gamit (My Speechcraft is at the high 80s so naging investor na rin ako sa mga shops).

I think Fine pa lang yan. 40 is still quite low. If you equip any piece of armor of Smithing plus the Silver-Blood Ring (from Markarth), you'll be able to upgrade stuff to Exquisite. May three tiers pa above Exquisite: Flawless, Epic and Legendary. You'll need to level up in Smithing even more, though.

you get a free house assuming your wife has a house (im not sure if Aela has, since she lives in that fighter's guild house) and 100 gold a day, plus you can sell stuff to her.

there's also a free meal, but i never thought the buffs made that much of a difference.

I beg to differ (AC can get pretty repetitive - this doesn't).

Disclaimer: I'm a big AC fan naman. I've been playing since it was released. I do like the Elder Scrolls games too.

parang ang gusto mo kakanin at suman ( epic skyrim )

pag gusto mo nestle ice cream ( AC )

Ok ba? Kinda wanna do a more magic-centered character. Or mag role play talaga.

sinubukan ko na laruin to before di ko natripan. okay lahat except sa akala ko 1st person shooter lang to. kaya inistop kong laruin dahil yun ang pinaka ayaw ko sa laro nahihilo kasi ako agad  <_< pero now nadiscover ko na scroll lang pala mouse para maging 3rd person ayun naadik na ako  :)

for me mejo same sila ng fable (pwede bumili ng bahay, mag asawa, side quest, magnakaw, maging masama or mabuti :P )
