anything...even a coin can do.
Brian May uses a coin. :mrgreen:o kaya just like the tambays in the barangays. the ones with the makeshift picks. as in plastic bottles or "tabo" purposely shaped into a triangle :-D :-D
here's pics of picks i usually buy
this is my favorite one :-)

Someone gave me a Brossard 'The Bone' pick a while ago and never really tried it until lately. It's very thick and convexed yet feels very comfortable. Easy to use for single note picking, but I'm still having difficulty getting a nice even staccato.
Also, I've been using a medium National thumbpick a lot lately. I like the fact that the pick stays in place while the rest of my fingers do fingerstyle picking (not that I'm good at it).

Brossard 'The Bone' pick=Very interesting!
Jim Dunlop Jazz III's. Yung pula na maliit.
Nothing really special, really.
Maybe you'd be interested to see this:

they have 11.85!! i want to try! bart your the devil!
sim card.
yeah they have 11. something gauge now thats a thick pick lol, i use 2.0mm for some years and 3.0mm but the V-pick 11. got me thinking!
pwede..I also used to cut out my picks from old credit cards(na hindi nabayaran dahil na max out :-D).
Try it for Us, U've got better access there :-D
Goodness me! $30 for a pick, would rather go for those Stubbies.
that's a lot already, a pity such an interesting pick would cost that much.
Goodluck
i dont go beyond 0.9mm
and who bought a 30$ pick? seems too much eh?
mine usu. costs 35php :)
crazy as ! its a bit overkill in these times of poverty lol
Well for some it is overkill, but for other's it might not bother their pocket that much,,,good thing we have one who's got it at least 8-) :-D
whiteTrick bought the $30 pick?? neat!
Oh yes He did! I hope he be very careful especially when playing on dark places though...
HOw i wish i could too..
Is it :-D
Well i don't know really, but that might be a common expression among the 3rd sex in Your community.
haha pretty much those rainbow loving sausage lovers,
Sausages and wurst..
ill try those dunlops first then move to the v-pick and personally try his claims,
Testing the product yourself would be the best way to find out if the product could stand for such a price indeed.
lol remember the cymbal pick before? made of real cymbal, yep i bought and just lost it...then last years pick of destiny for 7.99 that was lost after a week..so im abit concerned spending on a $30 pick :-)
That's the down side to it, considering the color, when playing onstage and it accidentally fell from your fingers..would be a pain in the ass searching for it..That's how my supply of those Stubby violet picks got exhausted aside from friends picking a souvenir every now and then when they visit.

I will surely not forgive myself if I lose this $30 pick.....great balls of fire..
Dunlop 5.8mm, that's a lot thicker than the Dunlop stubby, quite interesting.
whoops its 5MM not 5.88 lol..pics of picks lol

:-)
Nice! I like those last two picks on the left side, i wonder how those two picks stand when compaired with the v-pick.. :-D....That 5mm looks really nice, like it would stick in your fingers and would stay synchronized with your picking attacks he he....
Still thinking 'bout that V-pick though.. :-D
anyway i also found some things i might try from ebay picks made of, ebony, rosewood, bone, buffalo horn,
http://cgi.ebay.com/MULTI-COLOR-BLACK-HORN-GUITAR-PICKS-LOT-OF-10-FREE-S-H_W0QQitemZ160325753886QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGuitar_Accessories?hash=item255428dc1e&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A0|293%3A1|294%3A50
dunlop tortex pick 1.14mm, i love purple picks, hehehe and dunlop jazzlll
mediums will do. i remember using family rubbing alcohol (cut into a pick pattern, since isa lang pick ko so pattern na lang sya) on my fender strat. long long long time ago. :) bukid eh.
now ibanez medium. just about right.
old/unpaid credit cards
ive tried buttons from my worn polo, doesnt sound good.
lol
Definitely won't.. :-D
smell them for me....
lol
lol, probably gas masters wont approve that..lol
I dont mind the gauges as long as its very thin I use it for rythm
hard for lead
medium for a song with both lead and rythm
fingers if I lost my pick and too lazy to find them
I use different kinds, brand does not matter :)
I wonder if those alice picks are still available..had several of em while waiting for my supply of dadi 3.0 way back in 2004.
so yeah, meron parin. :-D :-D
around .80mm to 1.2mm, with grip...
have you seen the most overated pick in lazer?
the one that looks like a fender celluloid.
the one with rubber "grip" kuno.
better buy a jazz III than those.
man 25 bucks.
haha not yet, got to check that "grip" thing hehe,
2years ago i'm using these:
http://www.jimdunlop.com/index.php?page=products/pip&id=5&pmh=products/picks
the green one, .94, then switched to jazzlll tortex,
it won't make a scratch on my pick guard hehe :-D
if availability comes, i still prefer nylon picks
around .80mm to 1.2mm, with grip...
that's why I have a pick holder just in case hehehe :-D hirap pa naman makita yung jazz III sa liit
I also have with me Match Pik..

A problem i keep encountering with the stubby pick, when it falls..i just let it go..especially on a dark stage.
lol thats why get the red stubbys :-)
The red ones are thinner i guess, not really comfortable with em, i wish they would come up with a pick that glows in the dark he he..
or you could take that idea, and make it into a business idea, you can go to the chinese market place look for a company that makes plectrums/guitar accessories( i know some) and request that, you may need to provide specs and try to negotiate the price(its cheap really), im pretty sure the stubbies are mic, since i got a red 3mm stubby from one of my contacts before :-)
tama ka...kapag nalagalg na sa board ko yung pick, kusa nalang lilitaw kapag gusto kaysa hanapin mo pa hahaha......nakakatamad nga na hanapin mo pa hahaha..and you look ridiculous enough in pursuing something they don't want to be found hahaha
haha may kakilala ako nakatali yung pick sa wrist... :-D
Haha..i wonder is he using a V-pick?...
Hhhmm...some friends in china could be of help with this..actually the dadi picks i'm using now came from china and they're cheap indeed.
For cheaper guitar picks, shape and cut them from old credit cards. Recycle.
Dunlops. Why would you not use them?

Dunlop is gud. But por mi, ders samtin bayter, yu know?
Vitwater.
Now yu know.
dati JAZZ III XL series kaso madulas (pawisin kasi ), tapos nag try ako ng IBANEZ RUBBER GRIP Heavy (ambilis maubos nung mga rubber dots kaya palit ulet), ngayon IBANEZ SAND GRIP Heavy, swak na swak sa pawising kamay, kaso ambilis niya mapudpod.

Ah - I use a black, white, red or any other color of pick when I use one.
Actually I rarely use a pick, I prefer to use my fingers.
Be well and God Bless,
Doc
Take care of those nails then Doc, i also do fingerstyle cause i like playing some chord melody pieces, had stopped at the moment though since i gave my acoustic guitar to my niece and still haven't found a replacement for it.
Yep - when doin it fingerstyle, one has to be careful with the nails. I saw Jeff Beck and the Stones in concert and had a front row seat years ago - and I was able to notice that both Jeff Beck and Keith Richards, basically didn't have any fingernails on their picking hands. Jeff Beck says he never uses a pick and Keith Richards uses one only rarely.
Now that's interesting, especially with the case of Jeff Beck and his playing style. It would be very difficult to play those type of blues music with plain fingerstyle approach, i didn't know that, thanks for the info Doc.
But I like chicken pickin and fingerstyle, because it helps me out with playing lead since I'm not a shredder.
I like chicken pickin' too,i wonder if you've heard Zakk Wylde's Farm Fiddlin' on the guitarworld compilation album Guitars That Ruled The World.
I started digging country/bluegrass music about 4years ago when a friend requested for me to do some Alan Jackson cover with him in one of his wedding set, that get me started, now i'm listening to Chet Atkins collection CD and i also have this DVD from Danny Gatton and 4 of his albums, i'm slowly catching up with it somehow though i wish i have the luxury of time to really sit down and learn how to really play in such style.
JB has Eric Johnson Dunlop plectrums, the same size as Jazz IIIs but a bit thinner. Almost the same as Jazz IIIs but I seem to prefer it. Seems faster. Very nice. They come 6 in a pack in red color. Very affordable. FYI.
FWIW
anyone tried the thin metal pick? i cant remember the brand name though, worst thing ever. Its a String killer.....and i dont even shred.

i have one but i never use it hehe collection series lang

A friend recently gave me these:
3mm Dunlop Stubby, Big Stubby & Stubby Triangle.
I use them all and may never go back to thinner picks.
Of course I also use the natural picks, the fingers
(thumbs for octaves). :-D

parang tinutusok ng karayom yung belly mo or friction ng spoon and fork hehe
Sounds like those alice picks been buying before.. :-D
Sure :-)
Hey i wonder if you're friend bought those in manila and in what store...Nice picks Bro.. :-) 8-)
Nice picks!
Thanks. Gives me a much fuller tones compared to ones I used before (Fender 1 mm's).

Ibanez Steve Vai's (1.0mm) - just the right firmness (spaghetti??), plus, it's still pointy like the Jazz III
kaso mahal ng Vai (P50 each ) kaya balik ako sa Dunlop Jazz III black or Standard size Dunlop Tortex 1.14 (violet), pwede din ung blue (1.0mm)
anyone remembers those 8-peso Alice "zodiac sign" picks? :-D ayos yung 1.5mm nun!

kailangan ng inspirasyon sir. post your latest youtube vid para ganahan ako :-)
experiences with different gauges of picks.
1.00 "stainless" - tumagal, MAINGAAAYYY, palit nanaman
Nice!
OT: nakita nyo ba yung sa UG? yung "stop pick trolls" group?
Any link for this?
my bad.  it was pick "gnomes" not trolls.
http://groups.ultimate-guitar.com/pickgnomehunters/
 careful v-pick owners :-D
sabi nung isa. "i cant get it, i dropped the pick 3 feet high, how did it end up 10 feet across the room?"
natatawa lang ako sa kanila eh,.

i want to have two separate picks...one for lead and one for rhythm. i'm having a hard time strumming with the jazz picks. problem is, where to put the pickholder in my strat.

Cool, hopefully they don't shred too fast.. 8-) :-D
good thing you mentioned that. I never really observed how quickly it gets worn down but seems ok so far.Nice, then you can save for other GAS items in the future.. 8-) :-D
Jim Dunlop Jazz III
lazer sells the fake version of those picks.
i have one.
I have a Fender 351, Dunlop Ultex Jazz, Red Jazz III and a Black Jazz III. The one that gives the best tone and complexity for me is the Fender pick especially when using low to mid gain. The downside is because of the flex and size its hard to do 16/32 notes. Next is the Ultex Jazz but I don't like the pick noise. I can make the Fender pick sound like the Ultex but its not as fast. Red Jazz III's are super fast that's why shredders love them but IMO they don't sound good w/ low gain, with uber high gain it's perfect since the distortion has covered up the actual sound of the guitar anyway. Black Jazz III I'm not too fond of.
where do you buy your Jazz III's?
where do you buy your Jazz III's?
Nasa States ako bro, every major music store carries em. My ideal pick would be the one that has the tonal variation of a Fender pick but the speed of the Jazz III. The search continues I guess.
js picks are good ones :-)
Ayoko ng ng Alice picks...they're horrible!harhar
hey, they're my favorite.  8 petot per piece. lol
san nakakabili ng v-pick dito gusto ko sana ng psycho shredder nila eh thx poNo updates from the guys who claimed to get one earlier on this thread, :? i too am interested with it.. 8-)
Have you tried using those jim dunlop stubby picks? Since you like thick pics perhaps the said picks would be interesting to you as well.. 8-)
Baliktad bro. I like the sound of a regular Fender 351 pick which is a fairly thin pick. I find that the thicker the pick the duller the sound and less tonal variation but it does offers speed. I've been hearing about V-picks, I might give em a try.Yes thicker picks gave a less bright sound but it gives you a fuller warmer sound, plus they glide specially when playing fast. Goodluck in getting the V-pick..update us when you get one will ya.. thanks.. 8-)
Ayoko ng ng Alice picks...they're horrible!harhar
hey, they're my favorite.  8 petot per piece. lol
I still have my collections, they really make a good substitute when i ran out of stocks of my regular picks..
Madulas kasi eh pero sa price panalo! Hi5!hehe
pick scrapes/slide is a big no no. natutunaw. :lol:That's the negative side to it..but for the price i bet you won't give a second thought to it.
Thin and floppy might be costly..not unless you don't tear 'em regularly.. 8-)with my picking style, i tore a .5mm pick. so i switched to 1.0mm, then i discovered tortex picks, the blue ones.
That's the negative side to it..but for the price i bet you won't give a second thought to it.

Yes, those tortex are good ones indeed, been using them for sometime before i settled with the stubby's. 8-)
2.0 passion pick.
good for shredding 3 notes per string :) full ang tunog nang shred
Jim Dunlop Jazz III
teck pick
strings ang most likely papalitan mo pag eto gamit mo
eeew. ayoko na ng teck pick.
nagmamantsa sa daliri.
uu nga dude. string ang papalitan mo dito. :-o
ginawa ko syang kwintas. heheh. nawala eh.
san ba nakakabili ng dunlop stubby picks?
gusto ko kasi gumamit ng 3mm na pick
I already figure out what pick suite me,
the IBANEZ Sand Pick medium size...
anyway, i change my picks once a week... isang linggo pa lang pudpod na dulo eh. :-)
Dunlop Tortex .73mm or .88mm , maganda pang pop, love songs, ok din sa kaskasan at palm muteHave you tried the .88mm in shred picking?
Have you tried the .88mm in shred picking?
What made you change to the orange pick sir?
Before when I was starting to play the guitar, I used the Alice and Ernie Ball picks from thin to medium.. Then when I started to play fast licks, I said to myself "When the playing gets hard, the pick does too." haha
I used Tortex (green, blue, purple) and the Satriani Picks, heavy.
I could also agree that the thin ones are good for strumming, and the thicker ones for shred.
Lately I just realized that Paul Gilbert uses the orange one, but he shreds. This made me try the orange lately. I switch from different songs and try a 1.00mm and then the orange. Then I compare the results. :-D
PICK OF DESTINY FROM BOSS SATAN
Then try the Dadi picks 3.0mm perhaps it would fit your taste.. 8-)Sir san nakakabili ng dadi picks?
hehe ako last year pa ako nag palit simula nung napansin ko rin yung .60 gamit ni gilbert. works for me for shred purposes din. maganda rin ang tone pag nag sstrum pag nag switch to clean tone bigla. hehe. :-D
pero para sa akin ah... theory ko lang.. the thinner the pick, the less surface area ang nag cocontact sa strings.. therefore... more time to play faster stuff??? :? ewan!
Then try the Dadi picks 3.0mm perhaps it would fit your taste.. 8-)san nakakabili yan??
san nakakabili yan??
PICK OF DESTINY FROM BOSS SATANWahahaha. Ayus toh... Gagaling ka nito.
pare san mo nabili yan?
wala akong mahanap dito samen eh.
tortex dunlop gauge 1.0 maganda kasi kapit hindi madulas, hirap kasi pag nagshreshred ako tapos bigla nagpasma madulas kya ok sakin pag dunlop tlga kasi sa texture i tried different picks nadin the planet waves gibson ernie ball fender, ibanez. sa planet waves ok kaso mahal tska maxado malki :wink:I tried Fender picks maganda siya di siya madulas kaya lang kasi maxadong manipis yung nabili kong pick gauge .70 lang ata yun so habang nagsshred ako nasira yung pick
I tried Fender picks maganda siya di siya madulas kaya lang kasi maxadong manipis yung nabili kong pick gauge .70 lang ata yun so habang nagsshred ako nasira yung pick :lol:hehe yun lang kya mas prefer ko dunlop kasi matibay long lasting mura pa :-D

magkano un 10 un laman?
the hardest pick i can find. ang gamit ko ngayon ay yun maliit na matigas na dunlop ata yun. hehe. yun parang pang jazz ata. pero minsan ginagamit ko rin yun grip wizard ng ibanez.. yun may grip.. hehe. basta yun pinakamatigas na pick that i can find. hehe.di ko natripan un grip wizard ng ibanez dahil natatangal un grip nya. pero ok naman siya parang jazz III xl

Hows this for a change? http://www.ioffer.com/i/Jellifish-Guitar-Pick-for-Acoustic-or-Electric-53131461
Nice one Carlo...that's from medium to heavy guage i guess...why not try a stubby about that size too... 8-)
Have you used it?
Particular style lang ba or versatile?
Baka tumunog jelly fish yung gitara nyan. :-D
Have you used it?I tried playing Rain Song using Jellyfish pick on my LP with just a clean tone acoustic guitar effect. Maganda ang labas- sounds like a "harp" sobrang swabe sya and walang pick noise. Takes time to get used to though.

(anyone lend me their dslr's? :-D )
Those pics are good enough...thanks Bro..so how are the picks so far in terms of your assessment, do they live up to your own expectation?
ouy andyan ka pa pala haha. Wait i'm still uploading, err better pictures hehe. gimme 5mins...
ok a not-so-professional review of mine:
1. Tonewise: yes. it will actually "change" your tone. I used the word change coz we have different tastes regarding tone. If I can just describe it, it gives FAT tone. REALLY FAT. Yung tipong buong buo yung tunog. for me, its a positive. :-) Additionally, pinch harmonics is verrrrrrrrrrrrry easy to execute!
2. Playability: dito ako medyo nadisappoint. Well I got sweaty hands (and fingers). At the very moment you hold it, its ok, it will really stick to your hands/fingers. I gave it around 1-2mins noodling with my guitar, sweat building up, and it somewhat "dumudulas" e. TSK na tetempt tuloy ako lagyan ng grooves yun picks (but I won't haha ang mahal e!)
3. Speed: AVERAGE. Which is really good, specially if naka slant ang style ng picking mo ("slicing" the strings).
Overall: Its an ok pick, for me. May ilang araw pa para malaman ko if this is really my pick. I'll give it a full month hehe

question sa picking... since im trying to change it now...
slicing versus normal way of picking.... it affects the sound, correct? slicing (angled picking) is faster pero the sound you get is minimal compared sa regular picking...
Yes, angling the pick for a slicing attack does result in marginally reduced volume. That's simple physics. Less contact area = less impact = less volume. One can, however, compensate for this with an increased focus of power. Power gets focused into a smaller area. Besides, the volume less is really marginal at worst.
yez... sumagot rin...
salamat sir... need to practice a lot...
yez... sumagot rin...
salamat sir... need to practice a lot...
IMO lang naman correct me if im wrong. i angle the pick sometimes, sometimes hindi, depends sa sound that i wanna achieve.
i watched some videos sa youtube... and angled picking lahat gamit ng mga fast players... very important din ang position ng guitar, wrist, arms, lahat dapat coordinated...
mahirap sa una but once you master the technique, magugulat ka na lang how efficient it is... nasanay na kase ako sa normal picking, kaya wala na improvement sa speed... sablay pa...
Jim Dunlop Jazz III
my favorite pick is (http://www.elderly.com/images/tiny/accessories/PK/PK31-T.jpg)i have the h3,i really like the playability but it wears out very fast. Im now using the ultex jazz iii,i like it better than the red and black jazz iii
this yellow ones have flexibility , give an amazing grip, even when wet or sweaty  i ordered 1 dozen :-D
Definitely Jazz III's
I wanna try them V-picks but isn't it too expensive for a piece of plastic? (it IS plastic right?)

Yup. Been a user since they first came out. I use the medium rounded and the medium pointed. What I like about them is that they don't slip even if I don't exert that much grip. Also, it is so thick and tough, I bet I won't be able to wear them down in my lifetime. Aside from a thumbpick, it's the only flat pick I use.
What guitar pick (gauge size and brand) do U like best?
and why?
guys, where to buy jazz 3 picks..... locally? how much.... ubos na sa mga music shops....
Sa akin yung DUNLOP 1.14mm
(http://www.dv247.com/assets/products/35059_l.jpg)
i use the jazzIII picks... yung eric johnson look like JazzIII but they don't feel the same.... o ako lang ba ang manhid? :-D
guys, where to buy jazz 3 picks..... locally? how much.... ubos na sa mga music shops....
thougher to source out.... damn...... signatures are hard to find..... very durable and playability 11/10 for me.....
Dati, Jim Dunlop Jazz III na pula. Yung maliit.
Ngayon, V-Pick. Ta3na, todo 'tong pick na 'to. Can't speak of it glowingly enough, kahit pa medyo may kamahalan ng konti.
So saan nabibili ang V-Pick? I wanna get some.
San kaya nakaka-score nito? Dunlop Match Pik
Salamat!

Magkano ang isang V-Pick sa Pilipinas? Also, flat wounds ba ginagamit mo sa jazz box mo?
never tried the eric johnson JAZZ3.... what i use is this

I've used stainless steel picks exclusively for 6 years na.
different side, different feel
im using the thickest
...this

Dunlop Jazz III blacks. Came from a V-Pick Small Pointed 2.75 and Jazz III reds. In the end, I went back to the black Jazz IIIs. It works for me!
+1 dito! :D I'm quickly running out of my stock, though.

Or baka meron kayo alam na mabibilhan nitong Dunlop Gator Grip? Thanks! :-)
i use Dunlop tortex 0.88mm green & Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black 1.0mm

ang masasabi ko lang is mas maganda kung malambot ang pick... as in ung malambot tlga...
REASONS-
2. mas mabibigyan mo ng accents and maraming types of volumes :-D
and last mas madaling PATIGASIN ang MALAMBOT!!! basta higpitan mo lang ang hawak hahahahaha!!! :-o
planet waves black ice
extra heavy 1.5mm :-D
I feel like the tone of the guitar pops out more whenever I use heavy picks. :-)
totally disagree when it comes to shred. hard picks have better tone, dynamics, and no flaps slow you down so you pick the note you want at the intended time.
and they last longer.
and as for number 1, now that's really false. asa gumagamit yun
anyway i just wanna try it. tortex user kasi ako.
now, this pick is pointed compzred to the tortex, which is new to me.
sa tortrex pag angled ka eh nagsslide na ang pick mo for really fast picking. sa jazz 3 dahil pointed, it doesnt glide as much, pero of course, mas defined ang notes mo as opposed sa tortex na angled picking na parang may whip effect.
anyway, while practicing kahapon, hanggang legatos galore lang muna ako. nanibago ako eh haha.
anyway, ask ko lang, may mga nagfafast picking ba dito using those pointed picks?

Dunlop Jazz III red and black (depende sa mood)
and on very special occassions, a true american dime. just like the one sa anime series Oji the Section Chief (Kacho Oji). hehehe
tanong ko lang, saan makakabili ng ultex picks? all i see sa jb mega (and other stores i've been to) are tortex. wala pa nung same orange ng kay Paul Gilbert. :p

I used to have that color green dunlop. ok sa grip yan pre ah.. cool. :-)
pick boy picks ba yan itim na mat cross may spare ka pa ba niyan bilhin ko sau at yun pitch black na mini tsaka dunlop nylons?

These are what i like to use now, after shooting them out with a couple in my stash (and in the presence of some forumites)
particularly 207. 208 is pretty good too, but 207 is PHAT, and although the edge is rounded, the slippery material glides off the strings effortlessly, while the extra surface adds dimension & meat to the notes.
Its almost as warm as using flesh :-D

The BEST!!!
Check my sig!! :-D
Di ba madulas to brother? Curiousity is getting the better of me...
They have 'em in green, blue and the white which I particularly like prior to switching to maxgrips.
From Jazz III carbon fiber MAX GRIP to Ultex ako and masasabi ko upgrade talaga tone-wise and feel-wise yung Ultex.
pero madali ba to mapudpud tong ultex 2.0?
Hindi bro. Parang yung nylon yung durability niya.

Haven't heard of maxgrips. Where do you get them? :-(
Cool! PM kita for my order. :-D
Thanks bro. Check my sig edited na for your order. :-)
Here's a pic I just snapped from my small stash. :-)
Mas maliit yung Ultex 2.0 kesa Jazz3 XL.
Upper row (left to right)
Planet Waves XHeavy 1.1mm - Dunlop Jazz3 XL - Dunlop Jazz3 Max Grip - Dunlop Jazz3 Ultex 2.0 - Dunlop Tortex M(something)
Lower row (left to right)
Graphtech plectrum - Graphtech TUSQ A5 - Graphtech TUSQ A3 - Planet Waves Med/Heavy 1mm - Joe Sat Heavy
No prob.
Thanks for the size comparo "chart" :-D
Mas naexcite tuloy ako sa Ultex
Eto!!!
Idol! Salamat sa pag-introduce sakin sa Max Grip at Ultex 2.0.
Welcome bro!!!
Kaya sakto yung Ultex 2.0 ngaoyn.
am i out dated? im using EB H picks...medyo madulas lalo pag heavy songs...
ill try these stuff above...
yeah im a slash fanatic..he uses Dunlop tortex...
paps,how much yun?
i only play sa church...i play rhythms....part time lead.hehehe.i let the younger ones shine sa ministry....
Thanks. :-)
These are the picks that I have used over time... The best yet is the Dunlop Maxgrips! :-D
However, a set of Ultex is on it's way to me... Will do a shootout...

.50mm Dunlop Tortex - acoustic set up
.71mm Dunlop Tortex
i just wondering, where to buy this kind of picks now? laging out of stock sa mall or worst they dont sell anymore. :-(
from Generic normal sized picks to Jazz III (red) to Ultex Jazz to Ultex Jazz 2.0 to John Petrucci sig picks to This
I feel more confident playing fast runs because I can sense all the notes I'm hitting with the pick.. plus I get more bite with the pick attack (I love Paul Gilbert's pick attack sound when he rips it)
This is the reason why I left all the Jazz/Petrucci/small picks. Big picks really give you that especially the Tortex Sharps. I like the 1.35mm blacks the most. Even more so than the 1.5mm whites.
ultex sharp 1.14, small stubby 2.0, ultex jazz 3, tortex .70 (for acoustic)

Naputol sa gitna yung v pick ko last year.. :D
It's 200 pesos each so kung bibili kayo, huwag niyong walain haha!
I'm currently enjoying the hell out of it on my acoustic! I tried the others din kanina, pero for acoustic, I think mas ok yung Medium Pointed Lite and Screamer.
I think I've found THE pick! :-D
Now what the hell do I do with all the Ultex .73s that I stocked up on... :-o

Chicken Picks!!!
www.chickenpicks.com/
Despite it's thickness of 2.2, I'm used to 2.0 sized regular picks, but this one is so comfortable to play, literally less fatigue on your picking hand. The pick's beveled edge actually forces you to be articulate in your playing but you get used to it instantly, it is a very dynamic pick too. It doesn't give out that chirpy sound like other picks. Don't take my work for it, I'm just lucky to give the picks a shot and Eppo (inventor of Chicken Picks) is very accommodating, i told him what i needed and he suggested the size picks for me.

I like Dava picks.
you can change the "gauge" depending on how you hold the pick.

jazz III xl
i side with you boss!!!
