Hi Im Gandy,

Currently Im waay overweight.. for my age, height dapat 71-72 kg lang ako...I gained a lot last year (kasi ang lapit lang ng office sa bahay and nag electric scooter lang ako papasok--compared sa previous years solid na BIKE ko lahat ng destinations ko)

..now Im at my heaviest Ive been..78kg..
been cutting rice and running and stairclimbing everyday as much as I can, integrated on my way home...so far, Ive got it down to 76 as of this morning after 2 weeks.. Konti pa! Kinda worried baka kasi medyo bumabag na metabolism dahil sa age... some shin pain din dahil sa pagtakbo..siguro dahil sa bigat..hopefully makaadjust once maglose ako ng konting weight..

Ive done this before..ballooning to 76kg a couple of years ago..but managed to slim down to my ideal weight...I also cut down on eating, and did some runing and stairclimbing regularly...

Im motivated because...I dont want to be the rocker on on stage with a big belly and large body... I believe rockers has to be sexy and appealing as much as possible on stage...hehehe...

well, cheers to more weight loss!


Tips:

1. Cut down on rice and junk food. and add a cardio- excercise regimen sa iyong daily routine...(if only edsa was pedestrian friendly..you can forget sitting over traffic and just run and climb your way home.).

2. Do it in small portions.. start kahit 10 minutes lang..ang trick is to do it religiously! you would be surprised..yung 10 minutes will turn into 30-1 hour sessions...chain reaction lahat... youll be more conscious of how much you eat..and youll add more exercises and body toning moves to your routine..as you go.. basta trick is...religiously na walang palya..

actually, ok lang naman kumain ng konting chocolates now and then...mga baconator burgers...kailangan lang next day, doblehin mo cardio mo..
to burn it all up... kaya lang naman sinasabi na bawal kumain ng mga fastfoods kasi usually mga western diets yung pinanggagalingang articles..
eh alam naman natin na araw araw yung pagconsume nila ng fast foods...

support group tayo dito! hahaha..minsan talaga nakakatamad talaga..lalao na pag pagod ka na sa opis..pero talagang kailangang labanan..
totoo yung "no Pain no gain" na maxim...

ang target ko lang is to lose weight..I dont care sa pagbuff, muscular , abs stuff..gusto ko lang pumayat sa ideal weight ko..

yung tyan ko malaki din, Im pretty sure yun ang last at pinaka mahirap na paliitin..pero second on my list ko yun..

Goals ko is..

1. Get my ideal wight back
2. Paliitin tyan
3. (if possible magpa buff ng konti--pero di ko na to inaasam)

parang ok din to break your 3 meals into smaller meals through out the day..

medyo nahihirapan lang ako kasi sumasakit ulo ko pag nagugutom..or kulang kain ko..haha

also keep in mind..if your heart is racing and pumping fast...it means youre burning calories and fat...

so..if your jogging..but your heart aint racing..chances are konti lang nasusunog na taba...

so..sprint a bit...jog then sprint..uli...wash, rinse , repeat...

push it!

i havent gone to the gym for 8 months. i also eat anything i like: fastfood, junkfood, restaurant food, basically everything you are not supposed to eat in huge quantities.

as a result i am 220 lbs or 100 kilos currently ... 10 lbs from now, i will be back to my weight back before i started working out.

i also am re-experiencing the pains of being fat... them being:

1.) not recognizing myself in the mirror or in the photos cause i dont remember looking that big
2.) breathing heavy or taking deep breaths while doing something as mundane as standing stil, or sleeping in certain positions
3.) limited clothes cause most of them don't fit. connected to that is - no interest in buying new clothes cause the ones i like don't fit
4.) knee and joint pains in the leg area.
5.) not very sociable or meeting old friends because you know they are gonna say something about your looks

i hope i could get back on track soon.

I always remeber my colleagues older brothers story...he was Fat..as in...what he did was he walked from work to home for like a year...and LO BEHOLD..whe I saw him..hes a freaking kalansay! as in ang payat niya!

Im not a fan of gym memberships..

I just run along the sidewalks and do stair climbing up my building and also pedestrian overpasses...integrate those things sa daily commute mo para di tamarin..

pinakamahirap talaga yung Labanan yung Laziness..the rest is easy actually... minsan need talag natin ng motivation... chicks magandang isipin..hahaha

sa umpisa mabagal ang pagshed..

pero after 2 weeks..madali nalang yan! kailangan lang masanay mind sa routine...na connected sa discipline..kasi you need to really do it every freaking day..

100kg

3-weeks break in: 1 kg

4th week:1 kg

5th week: 1kg

6th week: 2 kg

so on...kaya yan!

sabayan nyo nalang ng konting fruit or century egg..or whatever...eto kainin ninyo for dinner every night..tignan natin kung di ka mabawasan ng fats..

kung tamaan ng gutom...labanan ito ng paginom ng madaming tubig..

It's very simple: burn more calories than you intake, and you'll lose weight. Take in more calories than you burn, and you'll gain weight.

It doesn't matter where the calories are comming from. In otherwords, if you burn 2500 calories/day, and eat 1700 calories in chocolate a day, you'll have a net loss of 700 calories/day, and will lose about 6 lb/month.

you should not close your mind regarding gym memberships. once you get to a certain level of fitness, you would need more advanced workouts.

i dont know how big you are now bro, but doing things like walking and climbing stairs ... those are very easy, and is only recommended for total beginners for something like a month, to serve as a warm up. if you want to improve your fitness, you need advanced workouts and joining a good gym with a good instructor is key there as so you will know whether you are doing the right workout with the right form. youtube videos will never teach you the right form, especially if you are a beginner.

however, if your sole goal is to shed lbs ... nothing beats watching your food intake.

if you map out a % for it, stuff like stamina, endurance, speed and fitness is 90% exercise, 10% diet

for looks ... its sadly 90% diet and 10% exercise.

for overall health ... i still give the edge to diet as 75%, while exercise is only 25%

agreed..GYM memberships concept..if you want to push it to the next level..its surely a must..unless you can invest on all sorts of machines and weights at home..

I think, my level now is just shed some lbs..and get my tummy smaller..and thats it...kung dumating ako sa point na game pa ako magpabuff at magpump iron na..ok din..pero not a priority for now..

1.) Nutritionists said you'll crave more if you are vitamin deficient. I was spending 20 pesos a day for vitamins which was really cheap compared to buying everyday chocolates, chichirias, sundaes, cokes, burgers and junkies

2.) Bigger muscles burn more calories (but i dont do gyms instead i jog 10km weekly but shifted to 5km of intense running and i'll add 2 more on my next runs - it has nothing to do with building muscles  :-D )

3.) Youll never lose if you dont lessen your diet

4.) Youlll never lose if you dont have a weighing scale next to your bathroom  :lol:

Im 5'8 at height and currently weighing 69-70kg and i've never since go down that weight. I was at 76-78 over the last six months.

Damn..same stats! Big plus on 3 & 4...haha...i still cant run that far in one go..tried but i ended up mostly walking....shorts sprints...walk then sprint again..lalo yung nagsisimula palang...ive lost 2kilos already!  6more to go! Plus the tummy

Sama ako dito! Seryoso to ah!

While I'm still a good 10 lbs lower than my heaviest (last year yun), I'm starting to feel the effects of having too much body fat. Easily exhausted, lethargic, and of course I think my body type/shape isn't the kind that looks good when putting on weight (lots of belly fat while appendages are slimmer, for a fat dude anyway; saggy moobs). At di ko na masuot yung Queen at Midnight Meetings shirts ko  :-(

actually pag nandun ka n sa point na naglose wweight ka na...maguguilty kana at magiisip bago kumain ng treats...kasi ang hirap hirap magbawas

share ko lang yung lazy mans routine ko...

Im no hardcore fitness buff so, I just find these routine perfectly fine well at least for me..you guys can add some other stuff and excercises if you want..

Morning:

1.Drink A glass of water
2.15-20 Push ups (dagdagan lang ng dagdagan ano kayanin)
3.20 Crunches
4.20 Sit ups
5.Planking (Depende sa kaya nyong time..dagdagan lang ng dagdagan as you go..)
6. Pag holiday or weekend at di tinatamad--- JOG around the block..30-45 minutes mixed walking, jogging, sprints, skiphop..

Evening:

1. Jog (may leather shoes ako sa office pangpalet sa running shoes ko) a few bus stations away...tancha ko..around a kilometer lang naman..sprints,jog,walking pag hingal na..

2. Paguwi nagstairs ako paakyat sa apartment...6 floors up lang naman (better kung higher floors)...tapos ginagawa ko uli yung 2,3,4,5...bago magdinner na light, no rice, some oatmeal, kamote..konting ulam and gulay..


thats it! basta araw araw lang gawin...or every 2 days then rest...tapos sabak uli sa routine...

tignan natin kung di malusaw mga fats nyo..


key is...integrate sa daily routine ninyo..and challenge yourself lagi..wag na mag escalator..mag hagdan nalang...wag tumawid sa pedestrian lane sa Overpass kayo tumawid...etc...these little things...contribute a lot to fat burning..

kasi simply put..

body needs food for energy...kaya ka kumakain...consume just enough...and burn the excess by exercise...

kung nagexercise ka tapos kain ka naman ng kain...bale wala yung efforts mo kasi..yung sinusunog mong taba is yung galing lang sa excess food mo..

create calorie defecit...para makakita ng resulta in 2 weeks lang! hahaha

guys, di ako expert at hardcore fitness buff ha..so try to google lang din or kausapin mga professionals...

yung share ko lang naman is motivation..na its not that hard and complicated or expensive to lose weight...

1. No softdrinks almost 2yrs na puro tubig
2. Wala na creamer coffee and half teaspoon lang sugar brown pa
3. Half rice always pag serve sa fastfood hinahati ko na kagad (yeah madaming nagugutom)
4. Fruits (made sure na meron ako grapes or oranges sa ref pag ginutom)
5. Metamucil (fiber)
6. No gym, jogging etc,

Diet pa lang imodify mo malaki na mababawas
3500cal = 1lb ng fat, bawas ka lang 500cal/day 1lb na kagad per week

Thanks, yes iba feeling pag 34 na ulit bewang coming from 40 (almost 6 years)  :-D syempre matinding disiplina kailangan and believe me napakahirap i'm a sales representative at halos everyday meron akong lunch and dinner call sa mga client sa kahit anong restaurant na trip nila imagine sila steak ako salad ang hirap talaga pero sabi nga sa previous posts dapat clear yung goal mo once you made the decision na magbawas ng timbang and my goal is clear maging healthy (history of cardiovascular diseases, hypertension,diabetes,MI,stroke,PAD,CHF,CAD) name it lahat yan me nagka events sa amen including cancer na kinamatay ni erpats recently, primarily yun ang motivation ko maging healthy secondary na lang yung maibalik yung confidence level, kaya nyo yan guys  :-D

Hi! I stand 5'11", and came from 93kg to 79kg as of last week...

I lessened my food intake and went into an active lifestyle... Nothing beats that combo.. my current target is 70kg... And abs upon my 30th bday (im 27 now).

Hard work and determination lang talaga.

case in point, nag-Insanity kami ng officemates ko, yung buong phase 1, isang buwan yun na intense na HIIT. tuamtagaktak ang pawis, hindi makatayo, hinihika pa. nag gain ako ng 2 lbs.

next try na mag weight loss, disiplina sa pagkain. 500 calories estimated a day, tapos lift lang ng weights at crunches/leg raises/pushups tig-1 set of 20s lang sa bahay for two months. bagsak 15 lbs.

pag na master na yung disiplina sa pagkain sa tingin ko yung disiplina sa exercise will follow.

Ako rin I'd encourage sports than just a gym membership. I'd probably go to the gym for resistance training, but nothing more. Mas well-rounded exercise ang sports.

in the same vein, yung mga workout ng mga artista na yan na nagbubuhat ng mabibigat, disiplina rin yan. nagsimula rin sila sa mga set of 20s hanggang maging habit nila ang exercise. syempre part ng motivation nila ay ang trabaho nila, kasi trabaho nilang maging mga pogi at chicks, but otherwise, the road to discipline is the same. force/motivate yourself to repeat such an activity until it feels weird or off when you stop doing it

feel ko rin yan. kahit cycling lang ng 10k (pero wild up and down naman ang road) sobrang pagod agad ako. for the same effort kaya ko mag badminton siguro mga 5 games (with breaks in between syempre), di hamak na mas intense pa yun.

To ditch belly fat, avoid the simple sugars...e.g. softdrinks, white bread, candies, and the like...then burn it with cardio, e.g. cycling, running, basta intervals..

Also it might just be ur body's water retention, which is caused by too much sodium. Ditch the chips, basta anything with salt...

ako naman nagpapatugtog ng upbeat na metal o kaya EDM. ang bilang ko kung hanggang anong part ng kanta aabot. bawal bumitaw sa gitna ng chorus kunwari!  :lol: challenge ko dati, gaano katagal ako makakapagplank sa Octavarium  :lol:

sakin yun lang talaga, planks and crunches. more core strength = better posture. hindi nakalaylay yung ab muscles mo, and in turn yung fats mo mas tucked in at firm. I swear kahit hindi matanggal yung taba, malaki ang difference sa appearance. magmumukha kang heavyweight MMA fighter na batak ang abs kahit may fats. in time magiging masel na lang sya  :lol:

now thats a good article.

When I started out, it was just running. Sa UP Oval. That was 2 years ago. Nung umpisa di ako maka isang round, but I kept on doing it. Im overweight and weak sobra, pero week after week i tried adding a few kilometers. Take note na 2km ang UP Oval. From 1 round, i progressed to 2 rounds and then eventually nakaka 6 rounds na ako which is equivalent to almost 12k. So naadik ako pero kailangan ko ma challenge. I timed my runs. According to some fitness guides, 6km is ideally completed in 45mins or less. I did that but still felt na kulang ang effort. By them I wsa already in my 5th or 6th week of running.

Thats when I researched and found out about crossfit and interval training and HIIT stuff. Di pa din ako nag gym but I copied some of the workouts sa youtube(its a very helpful site brothers). Theres the 800m plus 50 squats x 4 set workout by chris spealer, then theres box jumps, tuck jumps, burpees. I din a combination of these and varied my run/bodyweight workout everyday. The results were mighty good. I was at my 8th week or running and some of my friends and family have complimented me already that I am fit. Thats when my confidence soared.

At work, napapansin ka na e. And if you know what Im saying, bumabata ka at nagiging pansinin ng mga chikas(true this) pag fit ka. So i was already hooked sa fitness. One thing I can advice para ma motivate kayo is to get a run/gym buddy. Parehas nyo ma motivate ang isat isa. I was lucky cause I had about 4 gym/run buddies, all girls(di pagyayabang ha? and i wont post pics lol).

Sa ngayon, mejo tumaba ako sa midsection. But I can say pwede na pang MMA ang built ko. Abs na lang kulang.

I forgot my advice, here goes:

1. Diet is not eating less, its eating right. More protein, more veggies and fruits and minimal to no carbs. No sugars either from beverages( My only exception is red horse). Eat as much as you like as long as you can manage your macros.

2. Cardio is not the only way. Its a combo of resistance (ie gym) and cardio. And cardio isnt just running either, you can do cardio in the gym by lessening rest periods between exercise.

3. Regularity. You need to develop a habit. An attitude. Its all between the mind. No compromises. You decide whether you want it or not and then back up that promise.

@gandy, if this is to be effective lets bet on the biggest loser. We can post updates of our pictures as we progress towards having a fit body. Ano game? Pustahan na lang. Para may motivation. Online group supports like these are productive.

THE IRON

I believe that the definition of definition is reinvention. To not be like your parents. To not be like your friends. To be yourself.

Completely.

When I was young I had no sense of myself. All I was, was a product of all the fear and humiliation I suffered. Fear of my parents. The humiliation of teachers calling me "garbage can" and telling me I'd be mowing lawns for a living. And the very real terror of my fellow students. I was threatened and beaten up for the color of my skin and my size. I was skinny and clumsy, and when others would tease me I didn't run home crying, wondering why.

I knew all too well. I was there to be antagonized. In sports I was laughed at. A spaz. I was pretty good at boxing but only because the rage that filled my every waking moment made me wild and unpredictable. I fought with some strange fury. The other boys thought I was crazy.

I hated myself all the time.

As stupid at it seems now, I wanted to talk like them, dress like them, carry myself with the ease of knowing that I wasn't going to get pounded in the hallway between classes. Years passed and I learned to keep it all inside. I only talked to a few boys in my grade. Other losers. Some of them are to this day the greatest people I have ever known. Hang out with a guy who has had his head flushed down a toilet a few times, treat him with respect, and you'll find a faithful friend forever. But even with friends, school sucked. Teachers gave me hard time. I didn't think much of them either.

Then came Mr. Pepperman, my advisor. He was a powerfully built Vietnam veteran, and he was scary. No one ever talked out of turn in his class. Once one kid did and Mr. P. lifted him off the ground and pinned him to the blackboard. Mr. P. could see that I was in bad shape, and one Friday in October he asked me if I had ever worked out with weights. I told him no.

He told me that I was going to take some of the money that I had saved and buy a hundred-pound set of weights at Sears. As I left his office, I started to think of things I would say to him on Monday when he asked about the weights that I was not going to buy. Still, it made me feel special. My father never really got that close to caring. On Saturday I bought the weights, but I couldn't even drag them to my mom's car. An attendant laughed at me as he put them on a dolly.

Monday came and I was called into Mr. P.'s office after school. He said that he was going to show me how to work out. He was going to put me on a program and start hitting me in the solar plexus in the hallway when I wasn't looking. When I could take the punch we would know that we were getting somewhere. At no time was I to look at myself in the mirror or tell anyone at school what I was doing. In the gym he showed me ten basic exercises. I paid more attention than I ever did in any of my classes. I didn't want to blow it. I went home that night and started right in.

Weeks passed, and every once in a while Mr. P. would give me a shot and drop me in the hallway, sending my books flying. The other students didn't know what to think. More weeks passed, and I was steadily adding new weights to the bar. I could sense the power inside my body growing. I could feel it.

Right before Christmas break I was walking to class, and from out of nowhere Mr. Pepperman appeared and gave me a shot in the chest. I laughed and kept going. He said I could look at myself now. I got home and ran to the bathroom and pulled off my shirt. I saw a body, not just the shell that housed my stomach and my heart. My biceps bulged. My chest had definition. I felt strong. It was the first time I can remember having a sense of myself. I had done something and no one could ever take it away. You couldn't say s--t to me.

It took me years to fully appreciate the value of the lessons I have learned from the Iron. I used to think that it was my adversary, that I was trying to lift that which does not want to be lifted. I was wrong. When the Iron doesn't want to come off the mat, it's the kindest thing it can do for you. If it flew up and went through the ceiling, it wouldn't teach you anything. That's the way the Iron talks to you. It tells you that the material you work with is that which you will come to resemble. That which you work against will always work against you.

It wasn't until my late twenties that I learned that by working out I had given myself a great gift. I learned that nothing good comes without work and a certain amount of pain. When I finish a set that leaves me shaking, I know more about myself. When something gets bad, I know it can't be as bad as that workout.

I used to fight the pain, but recently this became clear to me: pain is not my enemy; it is my call to greatness. But when dealing with the Iron, one must be careful to interpret the pain correctly. Most injuries involving the Iron come from ego. I once spent a few weeks lifting weight that my body wasn't ready for and spent a few months not picking up anything heavier than a fork. Try to lift what you're not prepared to and the Iron will teach you a little lesson in restraint and self-control.

I have never met a truly strong person who didn't have self-respect. I think a lot of inwardly and outwardly directed contempt passes itself off as self-respect: the idea of raising yourself by stepping on someone's shoulders instead of doing it yourself. When I see guys working out for cosmetic reasons, I see vanity exposing them in the worst way, as cartoon characters, billboards for imbalance and insecurity. Strength reveals itself through character. It is the difference between bouncers who get off strong-arming people and Mr.Pepperman.

Muscle mass does not always equal strength. Strength is kindness and sensitivity. Strength is understanding that your power is both physical and emotional. That it comes from the body and the mind. And the heart.

Yukio Mishima said that he could not entertain the idea of romance if he was not strong. Romance is such a strong and overwhelming passion, a weakened body cannot sustain it for long. I have some of my most romantic thoughts when I am with the Iron. Once I was in love with a woman. I thought about her the most when the pain from a workout was racing through my body.

Everything in me wanted her. So much so that sex was only a fraction of my total desire. It was the single most intense love I have ever felt, but she lived far away and I didn't see her very often. Working out was a healthy way of dealing with the loneliness. To this day, when I work out I usually listen to ballads.

I prefer to work out alone.

It enables me to concentrate on the lessons that the Iron has for me. Learning about what you're made of is always time well spent, and I have found no better teacher. The Iron had taught me how to live. Life is capable of driving you out of your mind. The way it all comes down these days, it's some kind of miracle if you're not insane. People have become separated from their bodies. They are no longer whole.

I see them move from their offices to their cars and on to their suburban homes. They stress out constantly, they lose sleep, they eat badly. And they behave badly. Their egos run wild; they become motivated by that which will eventually give them a massive stroke. They need the Iron Mind.

Through the years, I have combined meditation, action, and the Iron into a single strength. I believe that when the body is strong, the mind thinks strong thoughts. Time spent away from the Iron makes my mind degenerate. I wallow in a thick depression. My body shuts down my mind.

The Iron is the best antidepressant I have ever found. There is no better way to fight weakness than with strength. Once the mind and body have been awakened to their true potential, it's impossible to turn back.

The Iron never lies to you. You can walk outside and listen to all kinds of talk, get told that you're a god or a total bastard. The Iron will always kick you the real deal. The Iron is the great reference point, the all-knowing perspective giver. Always there like a beacon in the pitch black. I have found the Iron to be my greatest friend. It never freaks out on me, never runs. Friends may come and go. But two hundred pounds is always two hundred pounds.

haha same with the high school classmates. mine really saw the difference, kasi malalaki mga kapatid ko at magulang. so alam nila ill go the way of the obese. pero nung mag ka reunion kami, gulat na gulat na sila. since last na nakita kasi nila ako, i was on my way to being a high blood candiate if not already. as in di ako makalakad ng ilang meters, im a hard drinker(heavy really) and ate too much.

after the weight loss, i became focused at least. ngayon pag namimiss ko mag gym o mag run, mas depressed ako. so i run/gym everyday.

In two weeks, 78 down to 76 na ako.. 5 more kilos and Im at my ideal weight na..then maintain ko nalang ng biking to work..babalik ko yung biking habit ko..malayo parang quezon ave to ortigas siguro ang layo..hehehe

I didn't know that such a thread exists. I hope I can contribute here.

I used to weigh 225 lbs. (~100 kg.). I started to work out and diet regularly and lost 53 lbs. in the process. I lost 45 lbs. in 3+ months and the last 8 lbs. in around 3-4 months. I walk around at 178-181 lbs. these days.

I can share what I did to lose weight if anybody's interested.

sa case ko..mag gym lang ako kung ready na ako body and mind mag pa Buff body...ngayon target ko lang weight loss..haha

gym is not equal to buff body ... i think thats a popular misconception. when ppl say "i will go to the gym," they have this image of being ultra muscular, muscle man competition body. that is completely false, and it is very negative to have that mental stereotype when you hear the word "gym."

think of gym as a playground ... it has a lot of toys for you to HAVE FUN. you can choose any activity you like ... from group activities like crossfit, to solo activities like jogging on a treadmill, to playing with toys like the various machines and weights. you also get to meet a lot of people - in my case, i usually do not like the "muscle heads" ... i tend to have fun with the martial arts and boxing guys... or even the group exercise moms (lol most of them are moms, but they are a lot more fun to work out with than those muscle heads who says words like "no carbs," "protein shakes," "8% body fat," etc. etc.)

just like a playground, you meet some ppl you hate, and some ppl you would bond with. truth is, i actually bond with those ppl a lot better than musicians i meet at the gig (they use words like "drunk," and "high" a lot lol).

sure man, i saw your FB transformation, it was effective whatever you did... especially on how you got started.

180 lbs is comfortable for me ... im still not ultra thin, but in that weight range, i can still eat rice and restaurant food lol ... 170 lbs is torture for me, and 150 lbs, i only went that low when i was in my early 20's. it involved a lot of "not eating," sleep deprivation and martial arts ... not a good idea if you want to live longer

I'm not overweight, but i tried intermittent fasting for 1 month just to get rid of fats around my belly.. :lol:
I drop 10 lbs in only 1 month, with cardio, and weight lifting...
but i remember when i was in grade school I used to be fat, but when I reached High school
I involved myself in basketball,, I remember those times when I saved some money just to buy things,
i don't eat lunch, o kaya nambuburaot ako sa kaklase  :lol:
then after class ung basketball...grabe pinayat ko nung highschool..
sort of fasting na rin gnagawa ko before...

I can relate. parang mas mababait din minsan na meet mo sa gym. mas level headed. siguro dahil ubos ang angst sa gym haha.

BTW I am at 85kgs now, standing at 5'7 inches.

Im targetting mga sub 10 percent body fat sana.

Diet and Gym/workout kasi nasa 70/30 ratio daw e. kaya mejo mahirap. Laluna ngaun na palait na xmas.

Last year my weight was at 74 kgs. Two weeks ago I was surprised to see my weight at 84. I'm cutting on carbs, bawal kanin at white bread, more on fruits and veg. Bawas Filipino food sa menu din dahil malakas talaga makapagpataba ang pagkain natin. My weight as of today is 82 kgs.

I watched a documentary yesterday. This guy has been eating a lot of lugaw and banana Q, ate himself to death

Tried a pair of shorts today...was surprised it was darn loose!!! Couldnt walk properly at the supermarket at it kept sliding off....

And a month ago..i could wear it with no belt!!!!!

I dont push myself too hard kaya medyo gradual lang....pero renember ang key sa lahat...

gulat ako nasa 80 nadin ako!! wew. around 70 lang ako dati. which is normal ayon sa "BMI" pero ngayon laki na. nakaka lungkot! haha

never naman ako nageextra rice sa pagkain. di din mahilig sa softdrinks. di ko matrace kung bakit ako tumaba!

 mismo!.. noong una..hirap controlin yung gutom..pero ngayon..nalalabanan ko na..like your tip..glass of water nalang..

pwede din pala kayo mag toothbrush, or mag mouthwash to kill the urge to eat...at least good oral health pa...hahaha...

I do find my weight loss strategy quite slow...pero I think thats why its working kasi..its pretty chill..and relaxed..and it keeps me from burning out at di din masyadong takaw sa oras ko..

yun lang talaga..matagal at mabagal...ok lang..

Im sure the other guys here can push themselves harder...haha

hmmm..try ko nga yung toddler plate ng kid ko...hahaha good idea ah..lalo to set food portions..

di na din advisable ang long runs, you can do hiit for example. and you need to do some resistance training. di pwede run lang.

nag all veggie din kami pag gabi...nagbigay kasi kaopisina ko ng mga sobrang veggies nila galing sa garden nila...so every night namin inuubos.. steamed lang..tapos fried garlic toppings or oyster sauce...

actually...since I lost 3 kg, I feel lighter and better...

pinaka naging inspiration ko talaga is yung thought na I have to look good on stage..and yung new vox naming babae..sobrang ripped yung abs..na metal at tatooan..parang nakakahiya kung  mga kabanda niya ay out of shape.. hahaha

my office shirts do feel lose now...

+1 on the yoga mat. paparegalo nga ako sa pasko  :wink: comfort pa rin yun for floor exercises para di ka madiscourage. Also improves posture kasi pag hard floor lang yan iiwasan ng katawan mo yung motion na masakit.

once na maramdaman ninyo na nag lose na kayo...mag doudouble time pa kayo to really succeed!!!

gusto ko man bumili ng high level sport bike...di ko magagawa at medyo mainit sa mata mga nice bikes dito..lalo na ako iniiwan iwan ko lang sa public bike parking..bike and scooters..
I plan to get a simple plain looking bike..importante gumagalaw lang katawan mo..

I think good move yan...cut down on foods and bike-bike-bike! sigurado maglose ka in a month or two... food intake talaga malaking factor... ngayon..medyo sobrang bawas na cravings ko for heavy foods..
dinadaan ko nalang sa paginom ng tubig pag nagugutom..

sa quiapo madami stores ng bike folding bike, road bike, mountain bike etc.  yes nakaka payat lalo na ung long distance bike ride pero kung pit stop nio eh ang lakas pa rin mag rice, fatty food at softdrinks wala den diba. http://neilarey.com/fitness/being-fit.html

nako, no.1 culprit yan soft drinks!!! pwede naman pero lessen mo intake...kung 1 bottle ka after a meal...half mo lang....then...1/4...etc. ako dinmahilig sa coke..lalo sarap ng food..haha..
ginagawa namin a few sips lang para lang mawala yung suya sa food..and stop na...pasta din is quite carbo filled...if your really want to eat...cut your portions into half...
slow and steady lang and wag biglain yung nakasanayan...kasi tendency...bigla magbinge eating...

Apples for me! Small, portable, not messy, lots of fiber, not too sweet. Pakwan talaga ang ideal pero hassle lang, huge fruit, cut, put in baunan, etc.

Other good choices (for me): pears, pineapple, oranges, pomegranate

From a previous almost-200pounder to a now-145, share ko lang na hindi gumagana ang crash diets. It is really better to slowly and steadily lose that extra weight and then mas madali na yung maintaining part. Yang in-between phase ko, hindi ko yan na-lose in weeks, not even months. Years ko yan binawas ng paunti-unti and then now, maintain nalang altho I'd like to lose more pa talaga  (my right weight for height kasi is 130lbs, technically overweight pa ako ng 15lbs sa present kong 145.

one effective way on how to track one's eating habit is by doing food selfies. mas madaling i-estimate kung gaano karaming calorie intake with photos as evidence.

dito sa office namin may pagkajudgemental ang mga officemates ko sa nagdadala ng fastfood. tuwing magdadala ako ng mcdonalds or hungry jacks (burger king) lagi nalang ako nakakarinig ng side comments na "are you eating that cr*p?", "fastfood is not good for you, mate", "is that your lunch?", etc... kaya pag may mac attack ako inuubos ko nalang sa kotse bago ako umakyat sa floor namin. now i eat fastfood once every month or two. frickin' aussies  :-D

I do that too noon, hindi pa uso ang foodporn so I write down what I ate instead. Para next day makikita ko yung notes ko kung nag-pork ba ako or fish, kung kumain ba ako ng gulay on that meal. Ang kanin ko on my first month, nagsimula akong mag-cut into half cup for breakfast, half cup for lunch. Then second month onwards, 1/4 cup per meal (nakilala ako ng mga servers sa canteen kasi I still pay for 1cup rice kahit 1/4c lang ang inoorder ko). Ang ulam ko, more on gulay at isda, meat ko twice a week lang. Then may fruit after, either apple or banana. Sa gabi, Rebisco Whole Wheat crackers na may konting cheese at kimchi. Para dumami yung cheese, finely grated kasi mahirap mag-slice ng manipis lang. Then tubig lang ang panulak. Light lang sa gabi, matutulog ka lang naman eh.

Pagkagising sa umaga, 1 or 2 cups of water agad kasi na-dehydrate ka ng gabi. Then bangon ako nun at 5:30am, 30min speedwalking with weights. Tapos breakfast na. Ayun paulit-ulit lang. Nung nakakita na ako ng result after one month, dun pa ako lalong na-motivate. Hindi ko na nga naiisip yung mantra ko sa ex ko e LOL. Ang naiisip ko, "sige pa, kaya mo pa, konti pa, seseksi ka pa!" Hahaha

Have no fear..usually water and fluids lang yang extra weight mo..so youre still ok...


Grabe pala yung stigma ng junkfoods sa oz....pero its good...usually target ng mega burger corporations mga  emerging economies...and children para sa brand loyalty... Yung kid ko. Di ko sinanay na mag softdrinks or magenjoy ay magrelax sa fastfood joints...galing kasi ng marketing machine nila...inaassociate nila hapiness..family togetherness sa pagkain ng food nila and sa pagtambay sa stores nila...

Saamin naman ng wife..wala eh..nakasanayan...pero paminsan lang and we try to split the burger..actually splita a meal set..burger..fries..and drink...para less guilt...

Malaking bagay rin na not allowed ang junk food at soft drinks sa school ko, kaya hindi rin ako junk food junkie ngayon. Meron na akong naranasang isang taon na narealize ko hindi pala ako naka-tikim ng soft drink. Sa birthday ko lang, isang baso lang tapos ayoko na. Hindi ko kasi kinalakhan.

ako talaga malaking problema ko tyan. di sya malaki, pero walang definition. flat pero walang cuts.

intensive lagi workouts ko tsaka mejo less rest periods pero talagang mahirap tanggalin. ayoko naman mag starve. so basta ang rule ko, everyday its either i lift weights or i run. no excuses.

May problema ako sa weight loss. Kahit umabot na ako sa ideal weight na 125~ish pounds , sobrang manboobs pa rin ako. nung 129 lbs na ako, medyo uma-abs na eh, pero yung boobs ko andun pa rin. di ko alam kung kailangan ko pa magshed ng additional weight or dahil nagstretch na yung boobs skin ko kaya lawlaw lang. any tips?

I saw this 5 minute belly fat melter daw by Mike chang..or something..some ripped asian guy...might add this 5 minute thing to my daily regimen...

though googled  this guy just now..and sabi scam daw yung workouts niya..just to sell his health products..hahaha though ok lang yung 5 minute workout na yan..gagawin ko..though cardio naman.

Number 1: to start your weightloss program... isa lang talaga...

BAWASAN ANG PAGKAIN...No rice at night..at bawasan yung portion ng rice pag breakfast or lunch.. kahit wag muna kayo mag excercise..eventually..sasabihin ng utak ninyo na sabayan mo na diet mo ng a few excercises...

napalaking bagay ang pag cut down ng kinakain..lalo mga fast foods, soft drinks, rice..sweets..chips..

from there..bubukas na mga opportunities to further slim down...


mahirap kasi yung bibiglain mo katawan mo na magdiet at mag excersise...gradual lang..

ako, nung early october..tamad na tamad ako mag pushups..sabi ko planks lang..ok na to..belly fat lang naman gusto ko paliitin..

pero ngayon..

parang ayoko na mawala yung push up portion ng routine ko...20-25 counts lang..solb na... hehe..

kailangan lang masimulan...and you can do that by..cutting your food intake...

CALORIE DEFICIT!!!

Dyan ako pumayat, maintain n lng ako ngaun. Di dn kc ako fan ng gym dahil sa gastos eh. Ang gnastusan ko, magandang sweatproof headset lng. Soundtrip habang tumatakbo. Like any other exercise, kailangan lng magawa mo cia habit. ^_^

2k lang yan...haro 100.1 ata...hahaha upgraded yung rear hub and yung chain.. actually pwede pang 1700 yan, kaso nagdagdag ako ng ng 300 para i-truing yung rear na gulong...hahaha

ngayon lang ako nakaexperience ng maliliit na sprockets, more power pala siya..therefore more speed...excited to ride it to work and back..pang maintain ng weight ko...

no more waiting for the freaking bus to go to work!!! freedom!!!

hirap talaga maalis yung bulge...most you can do is just slim it down..pero yung natitirang taba sa tyan..parang nakakadepress tignan..

need ata ng special regimens talaga and machines to burn the belly fat and expose yung six pack.. pero the hardest to beat is the one thats freaking sexy and attractive to chicks... ripped six pack abs!!!!

Jumprope!!!!! Kahit nga walang jump rope..simulate mo lang kunwari na may iniikot ka....100 jumps...hingal ka at ramdam mo heartbeat mo bumilis...

Isa sa mga favorite "exercise" ko yung magsasalang ng chicosci sa banyo tapos magpapakahyper tulad ni miggy. sobrang init ng banyo tapos sobrang hyper mo pa so mga 30 minutes siguradong pawis ka! may bonus na run ka pa pag hinabol ka ng mga kapitbahay mo  :lol:

same uhnger spells feeling...yung sumasakit ulo...what I do is i just buy some bread..and water..or milk...I think kailangan kumain talaga..unless inom ka ng bigesic or advil para mawala sakit ng ulo..
I think ok lang yung small snacks through out the day...sabi nila mas mabilis nga yun sa metabolism...kesa sa kumain ng big meals 3x a day...

1. Create a calorie deficit: Bawasan ang pagkain..bawasan ang portions...wag magkanin, at bawasan sweets, softdrinks, burgers, junkfood.

2. Gumalaw ng Gumalaw: Ikaw na bahala dito paano at kung ano convenient at kaya mo.. (jogging, long walking, speed walking, biking, jumprope, stair walking, planking--kaw na bahala ano mga gusto mong gawin... IMPORTANTE CONTINUOUS...and consistent...everyday, or magalot ka ng 1 or 2 days rest..then Galaw,galaw uli..


etong 2 tips na eto..simple, walang gastos(nakatipid ka pa nga) , walang complicated technical stuff or bili bili ng kung ano anong silver bullet solutions or programs..SOLB na kayo dito..

syempre in the end...nasasiyo padin yan..disiplina at self control nyo padin mag didictate ng success rate..

actually..in just a month may significant results na makikita.. kaya nakakainspire pa lalo..at gugustuhin mo na maging habit ang mag watch ng weight...


may jogging barbell dito sa opis..yung tig 1kg lang...so binubuhat ko yung dalawa..langhiya..2kg...is damn heavy...now, imagine that amount of fat na nasunog mo in 2-3weeks...grabe!!! imagine nasa waist line mo yung bigat na yun!?!

I lost 30 lbs so far. Di naman ako nagdiet masyado, naggym lang ako ng may tamang program. 2 rice everyday and oatmeal na lang sa gabi. Minsan kapag alanganing oras tapos nagutom ako, iniinom ko na lang ng tubig kasi naguguluhan ang katawan natin minsan di nya alam kung gutom tayo o uhaw kaya pag uminom ka ng tubig, di ka pala gutom, uhaw lang pala. Nanghinayang ako sa mga oras nung nagpataba ako ng ganyan. Di nako makaporma tsaka anlakas makamanong. Happy naman ako ngayon. Mga 10 lbs pa na malose ko and I'll be the happiest. I was 186 nung March and 152 na lang ako ngayon.

GRABE un... gutom pero worth it sya... weeks palang ako pero my nakikita na ako improvement sa tummy ko... after the tummy is gone maintain nlng gagawin ko.. oks na ako sa upper body ko ee..

though di naman ako tumaba ng talagang malaking malaki ...baka photo document ko nalang yung tyan ko..para mas maforce ako focus yung area na yun...hehe, though laki din ng niliit ng tyan ko since I started...wala na din yung slight na love handles..pero pag nakaexhale ako may "bundat" padin GRRR!!!  <_< --- try ko intensify duration ng planks ko and sit ups at crunches...

pag nagjog ka or nag bike or whatever.. try mo murahin yung FAT at TABA mo...channel mo galit mo at gigil mo..sa pagsabi ng cuss words sa mind mo towards sa taba mo...

oks na yan! naku after a month..yung 5 push ups mo baka 20-30 na..and lagi mo na hinahanap hanap gawin!  bawas lang ng food! tapos unti unti build up mga exercises na kung ano ano..

bukas uli same time, same channel..mag 5 push ups ka uli...then the next day, then next next...so on and so forth...ganun lang...makikita mo..yung changes.. :wink:  :wave:

sa case ko, nung umpisa ng october...tamad na tamad ako, sabi ko planking lang gagawin ko..tutal gusto ko lang naman magpapbawas ng tyan... lately ko lang din pinasok yung pushups sa routine ko...ayun palima, lima lang...after a week or so..nakaka 10 na ako..ngayon 15-pag ganado 20..


ngayon..naguguilty na ako pag di ko ginagawa yung push up routine ko..hahaha mahirap siya..pero basta within kaya mo lang na counts..and araw araw...yun na yun...may calories na nasusunog yun for sure!

sakin umaga  pagkagising bago magshower...and pagkauwi sa gabi...

You can't escape lifting weights Gandy. You burn double the calories if you have muscles. Tsaka when you lift, nagbuburn ka pa din ng calories the next day unlike sa mga cardio activities. Anyway, hanapin nyo sa youtube si Millhoy HIIT. Sarap ng workouts nya. 30 minutes lang pero grabe pawis isang timba.

inaaraw-araw ko na ang pushups ko. pero sa bigat ko ngayon at sa sobrang tagal ko rin di nagensayo, nagsimula muna ako sa 10 bawat araw. madaling sumakit yung mga masel, perosulit naman, nararamdaman ko nang nababawasan ang pagkalawlaw ng manboobs ko  :-o

Wag mo na iconsider Richard. Haha. Give it 2 months. Magiiba agad definition ng katawan mo and mas mabilis. Ibang iba nga lang environment sa gym kasi karamihan ng andun iba yung mga trip tsaka mas madalas na non sense ang paguusapan nyo. Wahaha. Pero ok lang kasi andun ka naman to work out and look good. Ganito gawin mo, monday chest and triceps, tuesday- back and biceps, wednesday- shoulders and traps, thus-legs tapos rest ka 1-2 days and repeat. Dapat maximum 1.5 hours tapos ka na magwork out. You dont need to do crunches cause it wont work lalo na kung medyo mataba ka pa. Magcrunches ka pag lumiit na yung tyan mo and may lumalabas ng konting definition.

dati more on cardio ako, 12k erday.

nung nakulangan ako, i started lifting.

ngaun, palit palit na.

modify mo din program mo. ako minsan tatakbo, tas bubuhat since nasa up diliman lang gym ko.ginagawa ko yun.

or pag may threadmill, sprint ka ng mga 5 minutes. tas buhat ka ng thrusters ganun. mga 10x mo gawin.

ewan ko lang kung di ka pumayat.haha.

im currently at 200lbs pero thats muscle and konting fat. im looking to get leaner kaso pa december na. hahaha. :-D :-D

I found crunches made me look fatter when I had lots of belly fat. but! leg raises or equivalent, basta yung pang tone ng lower abs, nakakatulong sa figure kahit mataba pa. parang hindi nakalaylay lang yung fats mo, mas uh.. hapit parang longganisa  :-D

Thanks Tep. Buti pa dito sa pinas andaming murang gym. Sa Gold's ako ng first 2months tapos lumipat na ko sa gym dito sa amin na 500 pesos per month. Malaki naman yung gym and kumpleto gamit. Wala nga lang sauna and steam bath.

if you need energy to burn during intense gym workouts..I think ok naman..

for me, ok lang naman magrice basta wag naman kaing marino na punong puno yung plato..a cup or 2 a day...is enough for your daily energy needs..

73 na ko..hopefully mahit ko 71 by end of the month..and its all good na..maintainance nalang..

Wala akong timbangan para sa weight monitoring eh pero sinunod ko mga payo niyo about sa working out in the morning. luckily over the weekend napansin naman ng mga kaibigan ko na pumayat daw ako hahaha sapat na muna yun siguro pero workout ulit! hehe  :lol:

yan yung the lest 10 lbs bro. our bodies are wired still like our prehistoric ancestors, who at the time does not have agriculture to ensure steady supply of food. since they sustain themselves through hunting and gathering and are subject to harsh weather conditions, our bodies are storing fats especially in our midsection as a buffer if we are not able to to get ample sustenance.

may mga ways to get rid of it, but that would entail rigid discipline. kaya prepare for hunger and starvation and weakness.haha.

run from office(ortigas) to diliman, a good 7k run ata. then gym for an hour tops doing squats, thrusters and presses.

mejo nagkaka porma na katawan, kaso andun pa din mga fats. since im 200 lbs still, di pa kita ang abs, pero defined naman na at wala ako tyan.

kailangan na ata ako magbawas talaga ng kain.

best thing about what im doing, which is minimal dieting and just eat big when i workout is that i feel strong and fast.

i just need to be ready for summer.haha. kasi xmas season so kain season din,ill just eat mor eprotein sa handaan. less rice.

im doing jiu jitsu and muay on the side pero di naman lagi,once a week. mostly crossfit(ako lang, no gym) and hiit exercises.

laki din ng pinagbago sa rice consumption namin sa bahay..

before I started last october, 3 gatang ng bigas yung normal na niluluto namin..ngayon down to 1 cup of bigas...di pa nauubos..at ginagawa nalang naming sinangag yung tira.. pati yung baon ko..from one  lock and lock na container, halos half nalang..

grabe naalala ko dati, rice ako ng rice..and yung mga food pics ko dati punong puno plato...

dati sumasakit pa ulo ko pag di ako nabubusog pag lunch pero ngayon ok na..siguro since nakapaglose nadin ako ng weight...pag nagkataon ..bibili nalang ako ng light snack..para di mahilo at magkaheadache..

pero..wow..super tipid na kami sa bigas.. in my opinion..di mo naman talaga need mag extra rice eh...siguro the most is 1 1/2 cup lalo pag masarap ang ulam..

kaya yung mga medyo nag dump ng kanin sa plato nila..ok lang pero be sure na may heavy physical acivity ka...kaya ok lang sa mga construcion workers eh..kasi kailangan nila daily energy needs nila..

Napalaking factor yung pagbawas ng food intake...

From 78kg...less 4kg october and another 4 kg this nov...

anyway, bro hiit is simple. kaso talagang max effort.

try this:

400m sprint plus 50 squats x 4 sets. yan isang workout na yan. pihado ang burn dyan.

if you want youc an add box jumps, squat jumps and burpees.

kaso i doubt if you can. yung sprit squat pa lang wasak ka na.

yung main thing dapat less time. walang rest o less rest periods. mga 30 secs max.

oo sabay naman siya actually..may nabawasan na dyan..eh talagang may bulk mga tyan natin..unless mag200 crunches ka a day at super intense training..para ripped ang dating..pero I think be thankul for now at nabawasan ka na and youre making a difference to better yourself..

spot checking or just focusing on a certain body part wont make it bro. di lalabas ang abs mo and just crunches and situps? I dont do those anymore for these reasons:

1. I am still around 15% body fat. kahit anong gawin mo na situp/crunches di lalabas ang abs mo. impossible, even a thousand situps a day wont hit it.
2. full body exercises always, ang pagtanggal ng fats sa katawan ay di naman isolated. pag nag workout ka ng isang oras distributed ang tanggal ng fats di lang sa iisang part ng katawan.
3. you will just be frustrated doing crunches situps.

here is what i think the formula would be kung mag ka cut ako ng todo:

1. go down to at least 10% body fat
2. cardio plus weight training everyday.
3. diet.

there is a huge difference between exercising and training, maintenance ang tawag dun kaso you can t possibly do that on a long period and sustain it. i would suggest that you vary your workouts, you explore weight training, and you stick to a suatainable diet plan.

ako hardcore ako mag gym, workout, run, diet and still cant seem to get past plateau. i may have to change a few things para sa summer body project ko.haha

i agree with this, we can lose weight a lot faster  by compound body movement exercises and low calorie diet..
pero beneficial rin naman ang mga isolation movement like crunches pag nagpapayat..
it will build a strong core, ska pag pumayat rin kita mo yun result, with the abs na natrained..
but i don't think it will burn fats in the belly pag nag target ka ng isolation sa abs,
losing weight means burning every fats in your body, minsan nga pati ung malaking mukha pumapayat kaya halatang pumayat,

pero kaya naman intense training, saka maintained diet need dyan..

im on maintenance mode. one hour a day of intense weight training on compound movements. do some squats, deadlifts, snatches. di na uso ngaun pa crunch crunch o situp ng situp.

once you get down to the 10% thats when situps/crunches will be relevant. pero mas okay pa nga planks e.

depends how hard you push it. bakit yung mga tabata exerices? tsaka yung crossfit programs na timed. di naman kailangan mag spend ng hours sa gym. its how hard you do it followede by a great diet program.

from reading, iba ang program for strength and aesthetics.

kailangan may goal ka in mind, from there you can choose a program.

effective yan, that routine will surely burn a lot of fats..
the only concern will be the safety of those who will engaged in training crossfit regimen, especially beginners

minsan pag basketball medyo nagiging sore knees ko, or minsan sa leg press, but I never have a  problem in the leg part,
sa lower back normally a day after I've done deadlifts I experienced Doms (Delayed onset muscle soreness) soreness sa lowerback
which is normal every after workout, last week lang iba ang dating ng lowerback ko halos hirap maglakad,
ngayon medyo ok na, stretching saka icing for 1 week pero my soreness pa pero hindi tulad last week,
so hindi muna ko mag lowerback, legs or even do shoulder press for a while
I've done some research dapat pala talaga cautious when doing some deadlifts and even squats..

nakaka pump, i tried this one after taking a break on taking creatine,
para hindi mawala effectiveness ng creatine, i bought a pre workout
mas nararamdaman ko effectiveness ng pre workout pag I'm working out na kulang sa tulog or if i feel like crap..
dami ingredients ang iba ibang pre workout e, pero one of its usual content is caffeine which is also found in energy drinks..
pagkakaiba lang ng mga normal energy drinks found in stores ay yung content, mas marami sa pre workout..
some also have small amount of creatine..

I think the only supplements worth taking is creatine, pre workout, and whey.
Some are almost unnecessary.

pre workout rin will give more energy in the gym, good for weight loss training.
I noticed rin dati Monster Energy drink iniinom ko or minsan yung vitapower na drink, i only last an hour.
pero with pre workout like neurocore I can last almost 2 hours..
Siguro dahil na rin siguro I usually mix 2 scoops parang 2 servings  :lol:
pero mas nakamura ako compared sa pagbili ng monster energy drink every workout..

experiment with different workout routines, and do what works best for you
but then again kung magtrain ka na mahabang session or short man,
heavy lifting but short reps, or strength training with medium weight and several reps,
diet is a big factor..you need right amount protein,calories, carbs, and fats your body needs,
whether your goal is losing weight or gaining...
for results and for fast recovery na rin...

I gained 7 pounds nung pasko. Lelz. I'm back to the gym. Ang rest day ko HIIT. Pagbalik ko ng gym lahat ng tao tumaba din. Basta tuloy tuloy lang and don't lose hope. I lost 40 lbs last year and I plan to lose the dreaded "last 10 pounds" this year.

i am down 20 lbs since january!

i will not be posting pics for awhile lol ... siguro pag 150 lbs na, pwede na siguro. it doesn't come without a price though. the price for all of this is that i have no friends, contacts or nights out. my life can be summarized in bullet points as:

-working out
-watching what i eat and logging them on loseit.com
-being in the store
-sleeping early to wake up at 5am
-waiting for an episode of walking dead
-waiting for an episode of better call saul
-waiting for an episode of Vikings
-thinking what i will eat on my Friday cheat day
-watching the occasional interesting cinema movie
-posting/mod'ing the occasional post in philmu

that is my whole life right now, and for the next next next months. lol a bit shallow when you think about it.

nag diet uli bumigat ng pasko sa gabi ako di kumakain hanggang kinaumagahan mahirap pag me nakikita kang kumakain. dinadaan ko sa tubig. pag me saging o kahit ano prutas yun kinakain ko. sa umaga hanggang 5pm kahit ano kinakain ko.

so far so good pag tinimbang ko malaki nabawas pero matagal pa siguro para maabot 150 o kahit 160 pounds.

My weight is optimum for my height,. Ang problem ko is malaki ang tiyan ko. I would want to reduce it by around 4-5 inches. I tried walking, slim belts, vibra belts. Nothing worked.

Jog only 30mins walk to and from luneta, 1-2 rounds jogging around grandstand (straight/no walking).

Did not get an abs or muscles though. But i can now wear my college clothes again (circa 98'). And it stopped my craving for rice. I still eat rice every now and then especially before treks (survived pulag over the weekend).

To activate enzymes on your body that increase metabolism saka pang regulate ng bp. Still doing it, i have 10lbs more to lose. Pwede din fruits before meal if you don't like apple cider.

Starting weight ko 236.8lbs. Lowest i've gone is 194.3lbs. This morning i weighed 197.4lbs because i ate  sashimi and ramen na natira ni misis last night. And i also forgot to jog yesterday.

Kung malakas ka sa rice, mabilis ang pagbaba ng weight mo kapag tinigil mo ito. Kung malakas ka sa ulam, you just have to eat lean meat. Mas ok kung less processed food more on steamed or grilled. Stir fry using olive oil. No magic sarap or msg, just salt and pepper. Onions and bell pepper is also a staple sa mga food na niluluto ko.

You can have 1 meal cheat per week. If you already achieved your goal weight, you can have 1 cheat day per week. Until masanay ka na, you will learn to self regulate.

you SHOULD read more on the benefits of ACV pre. dami write ups sa net about it.

been an ACV drinker for more than 5 years now. on and off yung pag inom ko kasi mabilis syang maubos sa market.

buy Bragg's. theres another brand with the 'mother' included(mother - sediments on the vinegar that contain protein, enzymes, etc) but i havent tried it yet. i just stick to Bragg's.

83kg to 72kg for 6mos na naggym ako. normal eating, kain sa labas pag with family, kain sa labas pag kasama gf.
nung natapos membership after 6mos bumalik din to 79kg. lol

Ngayon nagstart ulit ako maggym. Wala din ako gano binabago sa pagkaen ko. nag junk foods padin paminsan minsan at pagkasama family or gf sure kaen sa labas kasi un. pampawala din ng stress pag naggym. hehe. ang di ko lang iniinom is softdrinks.

pag nag 72kg ulit ako siguro tuloy tuloy ko nalang ung gym. pag kinokompyut ko naman around 30-50php a day lang ung membership.
ang goal ko pa naman nung nagym is 68kg para normal bmi. hindi umabot. haha.

Mga papi, check nyo yung MyFitnessPal app sa Android at iPhone kung gusto nyo magmonitor ng carbs. kahit Filipino food may calorie count record sila.

Lost 6 kilos (from 84 to 78) in three weeks from eating just 1500 calories a day and 30 minutes of HIIT on a stationary bike. Mataba parin ako pero sabi ng ma ka-officemate ko nawala na raw yung bilog na belly ko. Target weight ko para sa normal na BMI is 72kgs pero gusto ko pumayat uli mga 60kgs.

Nyetang Coke at Pepsi yan. Pansin ko pag uminom ako ng softdrinks, tumataas ang timbang ko kinabukasan. Anything tinapay at mataas sa sugar iniiwasan ko lalo na yung mga drinks (cola, fruit juices, iced tea, gatorade). Kumakain pa rin ako ng rice pag gabi.

so kung bibili ka, go for the unfiltered(with the mother) kind.

^yup mahal talaga. yung isang friend ko sa fb pag nakakita sya pinapakyaw nya sa supermarket tapos binebenta nya online. meron din sya nung Bragg na may honey nang nakahalo.

if youre only using it to detox at 2 tablespoons lang ang iniinom mo every other day, tatagal sayo yan ng 2 months.

Sa tingin ko useful ang BMI sa mga endurance sports,
kung muscular ka at konti ang taba sa katawan, di ka parin tatagal sa endurance sport kasi muscles burn calories and adds unnecessary weight. Dahil nag reretain ng water ang masel other than its weight. I mean kung muscular ka at overweight base sa bmi, hindi ka overweight dahil sa taba, but those muscles will slow you down.

yun nga yun. if youre borderline on the bracket that you should be at, wag masyado ma-pressure na kailangan gitna ka o nasa start ka ng bracket.

yung iba kasi BMI at calipers yung pinagbabasehan. ayun mga tuyot na tuyot ang hitsura.

i lift, run and walk a lot. i got a bulging tummy, pero hindi humina resistensya ko. i am somewhere close to the boundaries of my BMI and about to be tagged as "overweight". pero hindi masama pakiramdam ko lagi.

siguro ang alarming dyan kung beyond 1 bracket ka na. sasakit na lagi binti at likod mo lalo na kung mahina buto.

well may limits nga ang BMI as stated but it's still has use to some.

I'm at below the mid level for normal na. It takes time to get comfortable to my current weight, its not that i feel superb, pero get better time on my runs. Ang tinaggal ko lang sa diet ko eh sugar at softdrinks, pati narin creams at cream based foods. Masarap parin ang kain ko ng ulam at rice.

^kung ako naman tatanungin, i would like to be at the starting line of my BMI. magaan sa katawan yun and yung leisure walks mo parang stride at di ka din pawisin kung galing ka sa state na madaming fat deposits ang katawan mo.

Share ko lang nagyari sakin.

Tip lang based from experience at kay Dr., don't shed more than 2 lbs a week. It can develop Fatty Liver disease at Gallstones. Madalas akong magpapayat, at mabilisan talaga, siguro dahil ng tyaga. Tataba, then magpapapayat after 3 months, then tataba ulet. Ayun, na diagnose ako, sabay sabay last May 2016, Hypertension, Gallstones, Fatty Liver Disease, Dislipidemia. Sabi ng Dr. magkakapatid talaga ang sakit na yan. And walang ibang makakatulong sakin kundi healthy lifestyle. I started 95kg last May, then it came down to 78 kg today. Nag shed ako ng average 2 kg a month. Yun lang yung inadvise ng dr na i lose ko, para hindi daw lumaki lalo yung mga gallstones. Although Im still overweight sa 5'7", I feel much better than before. Stop na rin ang maintenance sa highblood, statins, fish oils at liver supplements. Pinagpatuloy lang ang pagtakbo sa umaga, 4x a week, 1.5 hrs per session. Olive oils (in replacement of other oils), fruits, veggies, chicken, fish, (minimal red meats), honey (in replacement of table sugar). Looking forward for another 8 kg loss then weight maintenance na lang target end of this year.

Day shift sir. Sa medaling araw ako tumatakbo, 5am to 6 30am. Nakatira ako walking distance lang sa office kaya marami pa ang oras ko para magprepare (8am office time). Sa hapon kasi, nakakatamad ng tumakbo. Ang daming reasons:

1. Pagod at stress sa trabaho.
2. Sa hapon madalas umambon, sira ang sched sigurado.
3. Kelangan magprepare ng sariling food, kasi dahil sa diet restrictions.
4. Sa hapon ang studio jam
5. Masarap mag ikot sa mall after kumain, pampahughug ng kinain bago matulog (pag tumakbo kasi ng busog, di maganda sa liver at gallbladder).

Nag invest talaga ako sa rent sa bahay (condo na napapalibutan ng BPO offices), para safe yung jogging path kahit medaling araw. Ginawa kong magtipid dati sa maling paraan, halos maubos lang lahat nung napunta akong ER at sandamakmak na gamot. Kaya lessons learned.

Yan din problem ko noon. Nag uuwian kasi ako noon, walang exercise. Nag try akong mag bedspace sa Las Pinas, di ako kumportableng tumakbo sa umaga kasi nakakatakot makasalubong ng holdaper, sabog o kaya makursunadahan. (In short, walang exercise pa rin), tapos puro fast food lalo sa gabi kasi wala ng bukas na carinderia sa gabi. Ang ending, ayun. At wala pa akong 30 kaya ang aga kong siningil ng katawan.

Kaya pinili kong makalipat para makapag exercise at makapag prepare ng sariling pagkain.

Natutunan ko na, kapag nag invest tayo sa good health at lifestyle, mahal siya sa una pero ang laki ng balik sa atin, more time na makapagtrabaho kasi walang absent, yung leave pa naiiconvert sa cash, walang gastos sa gamot, ospital, at ang pinakamalahaga, walang sakit na dahil sa kapabayaan.

sa case ko naman hindi ako pwede mag rent kasi ksama ko ung baby at misis ko ehehe. siguro isingit ko nalang sa weekend ng umaga. bawas ng inom at foodtrip

na hook ako sa cycling recently..winter dito..I try to bike as much as I can..kahit kalbaryo yung lamig.. nawala din Guitar & Pedal Gas ko dahil sa pagbike.. 75kg ako..nag start ako nung november..not much significant change yet..pero as long I have fun every ride I do..hehe sana makapagbawas pa
