Hey Bro, I did try the Hot Rod and was very pleased by it. The only reason why I returned it is because they gave me a very good deal with the MXR Double Shot distortion. I got the Hot Rod for $69.99 but they gave me the MXR for the same price (on clearance). I currently have the hots for boutigue type of pedals so I gladly exchanged the Hot Rod for it.
But the Hot Rod is so freakin' versatile. I don't know how to write a proper review but this pedal could be as bright, mid-rangy, or as thick as you want it to be. Thanks to the Warp dial you can tweak some serious tones. And I'm playing on a solid state 25 watt practice amp.

Get a Hot Rod, not a Hot Head. I tried that and couldn't get a decent tone. Malasado ang tunog. The Hot Rod is more versatile.
I also relied on the sound clip from their site. My sound was nowhere near from the clip. But then again I have a solid state amp. Maybe your setup is different.

well, it's pretty worth every peso IMHO, for having the df7....
the cool thing bout this stomp is its eq, providing it some added versatility and tone shaping.... the eq is almost the same as the eq of the boss mt-2... so tone settings are endless.... my fave distos from the df7 are the ts9 , ds2 and big muff distos... try it out men! 8)

wooohooo! i just got myself a digitech HOT ROD! i was initailly planning on getting a HOT HEAD because i'm starting to miss the DS1 type sound. And for 2.5k for a Bnew HOT HEAD ok talaga. i tried the HOT HEAD last night and ganda nang tunog. Pero Kaninang lunch dinala ko yung SD2 ko to A/B it with the HOT HEAD. Walangya potsu pala sya sa SD2! :lol: so iwas gastos na sana ako.
Pero since dala ko na yung SD2 at may HOTROD sila i A/B'ed them as well. I tried them alternately for like an hour. With a mindset na since Digital itong HOT ROD malamang di ko magugustuhan. I just wanted to compare it with the SD2.
OMG! surprisingly mas transparent ang tunog nung HOT ROD! and mas tahimik! Although mas may drive ang SD2 lead channel. Mas defined ang single notes mo with the HOT ROD!
dati di ko pinapansin tong Dist na to dahil Digital sya. Ayan nung nasubukan napabili tuloy. haaaay :lol:

i have 2 digitech pedals, an x-series multi chorus and a badmonkey. panalo talaga ang digitech, yun lang masasabi ko. yung XMC sobrang lush and rich ng chorus, sakto sa timplang gusto ko. and yung badmonkey naman sarap pang-blues. warm, smooth overdrive. ayos din sha pang-boost ng distortion. i might think of acquiring a digiverb or a digidelay to replace my delay in the future. pero sa ngayon masaya ako sa 2 digitech pedals ko, hehe. ang sarap sana kumpletuhin nung x-series pedals eh, digital nga lang, hehe. yung mga distortions (badmonkey, hot head, grunge and death metal) lang yung mga analog nila eh, hehe.

oo nga pala guys, tanong lang.. yung nakuha ko kasing Bad Monkey is made in the USA. meron bang nakakaalam ng difference sa tone with the normal made in China version? same price lang ang kuha ko (roughly US$40-43) sa Tom Lee HK, by the way. thanks!

I just got a new Digitech X-series Digital Multi-Voice Chorus Stompbox for 4950 Php. It is really lush and shimmery. You not only get a 1-16 voice knob, you can also achieve a classic rotary effect by turning up the speed and depth knob. Really nice! Now I think I found the strongest chorus stompbox around. It has 2 outputs for real stereo operation. I think this is a lot better than the CH-1 Boss Super Chorus because it has a Voice knob!

Bro, pagkaka-alam ko dito ung mga unang labas lang Made in USA, tapos nagmove sa China..Kaya alam ko ngayon wala nang US-made...Sa tunog, wala pa naman akong nababasang reviews sa diffrences nila...Dito kasi sa tate halos puro MIC na nasa store...

btw, let me start with my review on the digitech SCREAMIN BLUES overdrive/distortion pedal.
pedal construction:
patterned after a BOSS, so its very sturdy. the push-button thingies on the left and right side of the battery lid/stomping surface takes a while to get used to especially if you're a boss user. it's actually easy to pop. the battery is held snugly so its very secure as well. the plastic knobs look a bit flimsy. however, since it is depressed with the construction, you wont be able to accidentally step on them. the blue paint looks thick and hard to scratch (although ayoko mag-experiment, hehehe) and the pedal name is cheesy, to say the least.
tone:
very transparent, not as midrangey. you wont get metal tone, of course, but you could be able to dial in something close to iommi if you max out the gain and boost the high freq option. but then again, i think the pedal is perfect and meant for blues/classic rock tunes. dial in the gain to about 3:00 and boost the bass a bit and leave the high freq at 12:00, you'd be able to nail ebe's rhythm work with sugarfree. (u wud have to be using humbuckers, though. if not dial in more bass) if gain's around 9-12:00, you get a fine amount of grit.
the high and bass freq dials made this pedal stand out among other overdrive/distortions i have ever used. it gives you great control over your tone. because of that, there's probably a multitude of tones to choose from depending on the combo of your guitar, this pedal, and an amp. not only that, it cleans up well with the guitar's volume knob. oh, and did i mention that it responds very well to picking intensity, just like your favorite saturated tube amp? :P
i've never really used the mixer out function so i can't give any reviews for that. :lol:
at P3500 brand new, it's a keeper for me.

i have gnx1.. yung store button nya di na gumagana but everything is working fine.. i tried opening it para makita kung may sira yung mga push buttons kaya lang after i removed all screws inside, di ko pa rin matanggal yung board ng processor, parang naka screw pero sa loob na haayyy..
saan ba pwede ipaayos ito, 1.5 yrs old pa lang ito di naman ako nanggigigil kapag pinepress ko yung store button pero mukhang sira na.. pwede kaya ito sa audiophile na lang dalhin, dun ko rin kasi ito binili..
how about dito sa philmusic? may makakaayos kaya nito, sayang naman itong gnx1 ko kung di ko masasave yung mga settings ko..

i suggest buy a good amp rather than collecting stomp boxes...Korek! A great amp always has an awesome overdrive, un nga lang worth P50k ung marshall amp all-tube na trip ko :-( so...stompbox na lang muna hehe..

bad monkey... i'm not much of an overdrive guy but i really like the way it gives a clean smooth dirt. hehe.
i have a digitech hot rod too. its ok.. kinda digital, but i still like the way it gives a flat dist. hehe.
the only downside is that I always have a humm sound on the grunge and hot rod when turned on. the psu by the way is already regulated and i use humbuckers. any ideas how to eliminate this..??

Pare tanong lang, sa RP80 kumusta yung Whammy? Does it work like the one on the real pedal o hindi?
Di ko pa nasusubukan gumawa nang sariling patch tamad kasi ako. Pero yung factory preset ng whammy ok namn. I'm also looking at online patches sa digitech website, not all are good although may nakuha ako EJ patch that sounds good. Pero depende na rin sa guitar. As of now wala kasi akong single coil guitar.

ive got the digitech grunge a few weeks ago and i can say its pretty insane!!.. if you want to copy the grunge tone mix it with chorus stomp and there you go.. haha i love the tone of this one, lots of sustain.....
Yung digitech grunge maganda pang metal.. Kuhang-kuha yung deftones na distortion sound altough fuzz ang gamit nung gitarista nag deftones dun.
I bought a GNX4 about 5 years ago. I used it for live purposes. Sounds good. The plastic stomp thingys gave out na due to wear and tear and probably because of those baggage handlers/wankers at the airport.haha. As of now its semi-retired na. I'm using it for studio purposes nowadays. It really served me well. :-)same tau ng unit, same rin un problem ko pero naremedyohan ko rin kasi nilagyan ko ng bagong rubber un contact sa tact switch niya :-D

i love the bad monkey. it gives tube amp warmth to my solidstate fender. imho, the best cheap pedal for straight-ahead jazzers who don't own a tube amp. :-)

I have a Digitech Digital Delay. I only use 1 through 4 modes and madalas kong gamitin ang Tape Delay.reverse mode, magagamit din yan sa volume swell.
Di ko magamit ang tap tempo function because whenever I try to activate it there's some sort of hissing sound and it's pretty annoying, dinig siya talaga so I can't use it. The loop is sometimes a bit hard to use, and I don't understand the reverse mode. I only used the modulated delay twice.
Maganda naman siya, though for the Tape delay I give it a credit. I need to press it a bit hard to turn it on.
Overall it's a nice delay pedal. Cool pang tignan.

Ser, sa unang tanong, oo mare-record ang Jekyll and Hyde dahil daraan ito sa RP155.
Sa pangalawa, hindi marerecord ang tunog ng amp mo, dahil ang isinaksak mo ay ang RP155, at hindi ang amp, sa computer.
Sana'y makatulong ito sa iyo kapanalig.
BTW Ser, kung magagawa mo, spend a lot of time with the RP155 when tweaking presets. Magugulat ka kapag natutunan mo nang i-tweak yungyeah, i was impressed vs my older zoom. but coming from stomps, i know i cant really match an OD/DIST of an analog pedal. so i just wanna put an analog JnH in front..

I used a Peavey 158 combo bro. Plugged it sa front end ng amp. Walang effects loop kasi kaya no choice. I prefer to get accustomed to plugging in sa front end kasi hindi laging may effects loop/keyboard amp sa mga venues. Miced the amp lang. The audio was recorded using audacity and the video was recorded using my Flip Mino videocam. I used my Ibanez RGRT47DX and just switched between the pickup positions and played with the volume knob to clean up the sound like how you would a real amp. Rapsaaaa!

It's no more than a few milliseconds but it's enough to mess up with my rhythm so I ended up using the pedal board mode. The trade off was I can no longer get the same sweet OD + amp gain sounds that I was getting using patch mode.

For more gain, I use the RP500's pedal distortion. Susubukan ko pa kung kaya kong pindutin yung dalawang switch nang sabay. :P

normal lng b mgka "background hiss" or something like that pg nka high gain..im using a digitech rp500..tpos gamit ko ung amp/cabinet is peavey 5150 and recto 4x12 nka 80 gain ung peavey tapos add ako 808 with about 30 gain..sakto n sana ung tunog kaso may background hissing sound pag nagplay ako..nka ON nman ung noise gate ko pero it doesn't seem to kill the little hissing sound..annoying sya lalo n pag nag palm mute ka tapos ipa ring mo ung last palm note..

Any Digitech Hardwire TL-2 metal distortion users here? pahinge nman review nyo about jan :-Pgrabe sa gain bro tapos dahil dun sa mid freq knob, andaming sounds na pedeng palabasin. :drool: ang settings ko ngayon 9:00 treble, 10:00 mid feq and mids, todo bass, 3:00 gain at naka 12 lahat sa amp.
Any users ng Digitech EX-7 Expression factory? reviews naman. Confused ako kung whammy 4 or EX-7. hehe ThanksI have an EX-7. It's a really good all-around thing to have. I'm not fond of using a wah pedal, but I do need one occasionally. The EX-7 is full of effects I'd love to have but don't really need that often, so it made a lot of sense for me to buy it instead of dedicated wah, volume and whammy pedals.

I hope to get your opinion on what pedals to buy. I have owned a hardwire metal distortion for a few years until it was "flooded" during the ondoy typhoon... I had it opened and cleaned and it is functioning again (though I'm not sure if it performs the same).... being the OC that I am, I thought about replacing it with the same unit but while I was looking around shops I happened to see the digitech RP-500 which caught my interest.
Now, I have 2 options:
-retain or buy a new hardwire tl-2 metal distortion and perhaps maybe buy a chorus or reverb
-buy the rp-500 and consider it a one-stop solution. I may retain the tl-2 for some high gain stuff though....
Btw, if it might help in your suggestions, I use an ibanez MIJ RG series with a vox valvetronix amp and plan to do some Dream theater or Metallica stuff (not saying I can though, just plan to :-D )

I don't think you need the rp-500 for that kind of music bro. I'd probably just bring that unit you have now to any audiophile branch that has the tl-2 in stock, and compare it with another one. If it isn't the same anymore, just go buy a new one.:D IMO, the tl-2 would blow any dirt the rp's got out of the water because its a dedicated pedal. hardwired to boot.

Hi, guitarers. I'm Royd and I'm a Digitechoholic. I've been using my RP500 since 2009. I've recently decided to upgrade my unit and I was choosing between the following:
1. RP1000
2. HD500
3. Discard all multi effects systems and complete an awesome pedalboard
Just two weeks ago, after days of confusion, I decided to get an RP1000 (from the US, still on its way to Manila so anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks wait). I've asked so many people what they thought was better and the great Albert Montinola said that for my live performance, I'd be better off with an RP1000. Thanks to Xelly, I have confirmed this.
I love the RP500 and I'm sure I'll like the RP1000 just as much. I have however started investing in OD/distortion pedals because the amp sims when paired with an onboard distortion effect, although great with the guitar's volume knob rolled up in full, when rolled down to get a clean tone may sound artificial. Disabling the distortion/OD and using a separate distortion/OD pedal cures this and gives a more realistic sound (amp sims by the way do sound satisfactorily realistic with the volume knob rolled down when not paired with an onboard distortion efffect).

thanks for sharing paps, no XLR = no use for me :-) I use my RP355 mainly on gigs where if I'm connecting directly to PA, so XLR is a must.
